Our first stop is Chateau Khashmi winery located in the village of Khashmi, Sagarejo district. Excursion and Wine tasting includes 2 kind of Wine - Rkatsiteli, Saperavi + Chacha Next stop is Signagi – a town overlooking the Alazani valley from the hills and surrounded by the medieval curtain walls. Take a short walk in Signagi , and afterwards drive to Velistsikhe and visit local wine cellar and museum of Numisi. Have a lunch in Numisi and taste red and white Qvevri wines. Trip continues to Kvareli. You are going to visit a wine cellar located in a tunnel dug out in the flank of the Greater Caucasus Mountains, and taste amazing European wines. The temperature in the Tunnel stays ideally at 12- 14°C throughout the year. It integrates two main tunnels, which are linked by 13 galleries. The total length of the tunnels is 7.7 km. From there, continue to Telavi – an administrative center of Kakheti. Here you are going to have a dinner at a local guesthouse with homemade Qvevri wines. Dinner and Overnight at Telavi family guesthouse. Day 2: Telavi – Tsinandali – Napareuli – Tbilisi Driving distance: 164 km (3 hr) After breakfast in Telavi, continue the exploration of Kakheti. First, visit local farmers’ market, where you can make some pictures, purchase fruits, homemade wine, Georgian vodka “Chacha”, cheese and bread, and traditional sweet – “Churchkhela”. Continue to Tsinandali village (10 km drive) and visit the residence of a nobleman, poet and founder of the first wine factory, Prince Alexander Chavchavadze. Excursion inside the house-museum and garden will take about 30 minutes. Smack a glass of finest Tsinandali cellar white wine - this is a first zip of wine today. Next wine stop is Shumi winery located in Tsinandali village, just 5 minutes’ walk from Chavchavadze’ Estate. Shumi offers small wine museum and wine garden. Here we taste 2 kinds of wines with snacks. Drive to Napareuli village, where win’s Wine Cellar and Museum is located. The museum shows the process of Georgian traditional winemaking procedure, as well as other artifacts connected to the local wine making culture. Have a lunch in win’s Wine Cellar in a comfortable retro-style family restaurant and taste three types of Qvevri wines. After lunch drive back to Tbilisi. Transfer will take about 3 hours. En tusenårig kultur med eldgamle klostre og kirker og spennende folklore og tradisjoner. En gammel, gregoriansk legende forteller at Vårherre under Jordens skapelse skulle ta seg en matbit. Han ble imidlertid så opptatt av det guddommelige måltidet at han snublet over Kaukasus høye fjell og mistet all mat og vin ut over Georgia. Displacement in the delta of the river Enguri UNHCR has today discovered a typical situation of night displacement in the delta of the river Enguri in Western Georgia. The right river bank, which used to be Georgian, is now under Abkhaz control and a total of 59 families (some 240 people) from the village of Ganmuhuri crossed the river in the evening on boats to spend the night with host families in Anaklia, the village on the other side. During the day the IDPs cross the river again to go home to work on their fields, especially now during the heights of the hazelnut harvest. UNHCR met with the mayor of Anaklia and promised to deliver blankets and some additional kitchen sets for the displaced and the host families. In this region, there are also plenty of old IDP families displaced during the conflict in the 1990’s and they too will receive blankets to make it easier for them to host the new IDPs. UNHCR to draft the strategy on shelter In a shelter coordination meeting which took place yesterday, it was agreed that UNHCR will draft the overall strategy for shelter by the end of the week. The strategy will be shared with all humanitarian partners on Monday, for information and comments, before its presentation to the Georgian Government later next week.

World Vision Georgia (WVG) collected data about economic situation of 4868 households where 6983 children live. April data shows that 1813 children (26%) live in families where income is lost or reduced during COVID 19 pandemic; and there are 2070 children (30%), whose families have no guaranteed or projected income sources.

    WHO DOES WHAT WHERE IN DISASTER RISK REDUCTION IN GEORGIA Second edition March 2010 Georgian National Committee of Disaster Risk Reduction & Environment Sustainable Development FOREWORD Georgia is a highly disaster-prone country, which frequently experiences natural hazards (e.g. earthquakes, floods, landslides, mudflows, avalanches, and drought) as well as man-made emergencies (e.g. industrial accidents and traffic accidents). Compounding factors such as demographic change, unplanned urbanization, poorly maintained infrastructure, lax enforcement of safety standards, socio-economic inequities, epidemics, environmental degradation and climate variability amplify the frequency and intensity of disasters and call for a proactive and multi-hazard approach. Disaster risk reduction is a cross-cutting and complex development issue. It requires political and legal commitment, public understanding, scientific knowledge, careful development planning, responsible enforcement of policies and legislation, people-centred early warning systems, and effective disaster preparedness and response mechanisms. Close collaboration of policy-makers, scientists, urban planners, engineers, architects, development workers and civil society representatives is a precondition for adopting a comprehensive approach and inventing adequate solutions.
