The graphic novel adaptation of All You Need is Kill depends much on the notion that those who will be reading it are the people who have either read the novel or saw the movie Edge of Tomorrow. As a stand-alone graphic novel, someone without any prior knowledge about the movie or the novel will find the comics confusing. Many of the important elements are not clearly explained. On the other hand, those who have read the novel or watched the movie will feel like they have to recall many things f The graphic novel adaptation of All You Need is Kill depends much on the notion that those who will be reading it are the people who have either read the novel or saw the movie Edge of Tomorrow. Everything is rushed and less epic than what should have been. That is disappointing since the very reason we have bought this one is to appreciate the story in another medium and not to experience a mediocre version of it. The artwork is a little less than good. The mimics are not as formidable as they should have been and the protagonists look like generic foot soldiers. Even the fight scenes are boring. You are given the bare minimum amount of exposition for the plot to be mostly understandable and lots of disjointed action, seemingly out of context snippets of dialogue and narration. The pacing is terrible and the page layouts would be confusing if there were anything going on on the page that you needed to understand, which there isn't. Basically aliens have attacked earth and almost finished the human race and our hero dies while trying to fight them but he wakes up again to fight the aliens and dying again. Its a very nice graphic novel and everyone should read it, I finished it in one single session after all its only about 96 pages of awesomeness. I have always loved comics, and I hope that I will always love them. Even though I grew up reading local Indian comics like Raj Comics or Diamond Comics or even Manoj Comics, now's the time to catch up on the international and classic comics and Graphic novels. All You Need Is Kill follows a soldier named Keiji Kiriya, who, after dying in a battle with extraterrestrialsis caught in a time loop that makes him live the same day repeatedly, allowing Kiriya to improve his fighting skills. A graphic novel adaptation was released in North America in May The English-language film tie-in edition of the novel also uses this title. Despite equipping its soldiers with powered exoskeletonsthe UDF is losing its fight against the mysterious "Mimics", extraterrestrials which have laid siege to Earth. Keiji is seemingly killed on his first sortie after killing an unusual-looking Mimic but, through some inexplicable phenomenon, he wakes and finds that he has returned to the day before the battle. As this process continues, he finds himself caught in a time loop as his death and resurrection repeat time and time again. Keiji's skill as a soldier grows as he passes through each time loop in a desperate attempt to change his fate. After several dozen loops, he All You Need is Kill - Graphic Novel his fate is similar to that of Rita Vrataski, a prominent ace who preferred to use a battle axe rather than a firearm. He uses his knowledge of the day to get close to her and her mechanic, from whom he gets a copy of her massive axe. In essence, both of them are similar to the antenna Mimics, meaning one of them has to die before killing the nexus; otherwise, the loop will continue indefinitely. Reluctantly, the two battle. Keiji mortally wounds Rita and stays by her side as she dies. Before Rita dies, Keiji confesses his developing feelings for her before she tells him to win the war quickly and prevent anyone else from suffering their fate. He slaughters the remaining Mimics and destroys the nexus. Weeks later, he is hailed as a new hero of the United Defense Forces while All You Need is Kill - Graphic Novel silently reflects on what transpired and the sacrifice needed for them to win the battle.
