I am Stephen McKenzie, Principal of GORSE SCITT. In January 2018, GORSE SCITT was recognised by OFSTED as being Outstanding in all aspects of its work. Our work is dedicated to training aspiring teachers to a high, practical and academic level within our alliance of schools. It should be noted that anyone who successfully trains with us, as well as receiving Qualified Teacher Training status from experienced leading school practitioners, will also be awarded a Post Graduate Certificate of Education and 60 points towards a Masters qualification. Over the last five years we have trained well over a thousand trainees across all subjects and in Primary and Secondary phases. The majority of these colleagues are pursuing successful careers in our Trust or Partner schools; a number of these colleagues have made rapid progress through their careers and hold positions of responsibility. We are currently training over 250 trainees across all subject areas, in Leeds, Bradford and Hull & East Yorkshire, whom we expect to develop into outstanding teachers by the end of June 2021. If you, or anyone else you know, is a Postgraduate or in their final year of studying at university and is interested in becoming a teacher, please pass on our details. The course is full time and takes one academic year to complete. There are bursaries and scholarships available on selected subjects of up to £26,000 to train. We are also offering various virtual open evenings this year; these offer the opportunity to meet the team and find out more information about what we offer.
