ISU picked up their first shutout of the season with a 4-0 victory over Sam Houston State before falling to No. 7 Texas A&M 4-1. It was ISU’s first loss of the season. • The Redbirds are playing their third straight game on the road against DePaul Wednesday. Despite the programs’ close proximity, this is just the seventh meeting all time between the clubs. • Both DePaul and Boston College are flirting with the Top 25 in the most recent polls. The game Sunday against Boston College will be broadcast nationally on NSCAATV.com. It’s the National Game of the Week and it will the first meeting for the two teams. It will also be the third-straight match against a Top 25 team for ISU. QUICK KICKS • Aryn Newsom officially rewrote the record books after the opening weekend. Newsom recorded two wins as starting goalkeeper for the Redbirds, which gave her 37 for her career. She has averaged 11.7 per year for her career and currently has 38 total. • Only two teams from the Missouri Valley Conference have one loss, with Illinois State being one of them. The Redbirds are 3-1 through two weeks of play. Joining them at the top of the standings is Evansville, also 3-1. • Hannah Leinert leads the Redbirds in points with six. She recorded five within three minutes of each other against Central Michigan. She then added an assist against Sam Houston State last Friday. • Rachel Tejada netted one goal and dished out three assists during the first two weekends to make her career point total 143. She already holds the Valley record for total points. Her most recent goal was the 55th of her career, which puts her just four behind the program leader. • Ali Farkos recorded six points last season on two goals and two assists. In an expanded role this season, she has flourished early. Farkos found the back of the net on Friday with a lofted shot from outside the 18. She then assisted two goals on Sunday to give her four points total. • Head coach Drew Roff is in his eighth season at the helm of the Redbirds, and tenth overall. Roff, who has led ISU to five regular-season MVC titles, four MVC Tournament titles, and four NCAA Tournament appearances, enters the week fifteen wins shy of 100-career victories at ISU (85-45-11). • ISU’s defensive unit surrendered two goals through three games with one coming by way of a penalty kick. The defense allowed just 19 shots to be taken and Aryn Newsom was required to make just six saves in 248 minutes of play. 2014 Illinois State Soccer Game Notes 1 Matches 1 & 2 • Aug. 22 and 24 Matches 1 & 2 • Aug. 22 and 24 MVC Honors Tale of the Tape Goal Tracker The Last Time... • ISU hauled in three conference awards after the first week Team Stats ISU DePaul BC Date Player Opponent Score Final Illinois State of play. Summary DePaul University (the “University”) is soliciting proposals from manufacturers and providers of high quality audio and visual equipment for use in classrooms and conference rooms throughout the institution. Following its Vincentian mission of making an extraordinary education accessible, DePaul University’s Vision twenty12 outlines a master plan targeting expansion of the Lincoln Park campus. The master plan includes the addition of several new buildings: a Music Center, Theater School Building, Academic Center and Art Gallery. Audio visual needs for these new buildings are being formalized as the plans for the new buildings are being developed. For more information on DePaul’s Vision twenty12 and the Lincoln Park Master Plan, please visit http://president.depaul.edu/MasterPlan/index.html. DePaul envisions a relationship with an audio visual supplier that encompasses the full range of purchase activity, from product ordering to support administration to equipment disposal, with web-based program management and reporting mechanisms. DePaul is offering competing companies the opportunity to submit proposals and expects to commit to a new three-year preferred supplier relationship.
