Im Sommer folgen meist Auftritte in Luzern bei den Internationa- len Musikfestwochen, neuerdings auch in London bei den Prom-Concerts. Die Geschichte der Festspiele Es ist der Initiative von Max Reinhardt und einigen seiner Freunde - darunter Richard Strauss und Hugo von Hofmannsthal - zu verdanken, daß Salzburg fur¨ Kunstler¨ und Kunstliebhaber so wichtig geworden ist. Sie grundeten¨ die Festspiele 1920 als Hommage an Mozarts Geburtsort. Zun¨achst wurden nur Schauspiele und klassische Orchesterkonzerte gegeben, sp¨ater auch Opern, Ballette, Kammerkonzerte, Lieder- und Rezitationsabende. H¨aufig begleiteten Kongresse und Ausstellungen, Sommerkurse und Akademien die Vorfuhrun-¨ gen. Das religi¨ose Mysterienspiel Jedermann von Hugo von Hofmannsthal (lange Zeit in der Inszenierung von Max Reinhardt) steht j¨ahrlich als erstes auf dem Programm.1 Nur das im Sommer stattfindende Festival tr¨agt die Bezeichnung Salzbur- ” ger Festspiele”. DECCA DISCOGRAPHY >>V VIENNA, Austria, Germany, Hungary, etc. The Vienna Philharmonic was the jewel in Decca’s crown, particularly from 1956 when the engineers adopted the Sofiensaal as their favoured studio. The contract with the orchestra was secured partly by cultivating various chamber ensembles drawn from its membership. Vienna was favoured for symphonic cycles, particularly in the mid-1960s, and for German opera and operetta, including Strausses of all varieties and Solti’s “Ring” (1958-65), as well as Mackerras’s Janá ček (1976-82). Karajan recorded intermittently for Decca with the VPO from 1959-78. But apart from the New Year concerts, resumed in 2008, recording with the VPO ceased in 1998. Outside the capital there were various sessions in Salzburg from 1984-99. Germany was largely left to Decca’s partner Telefunken, though it was so overshadowed by Deutsche Grammophon and EMI Electrola that few of its products were marketed in the UK, with even those soon relegated to a cheap label. It later signed Harnoncourt and eventually became part of the competition, joining Warner Classics in 1990. Decca did venture to Bayreuth in 1951, ’53 and ’55 but wrecking tactics by Walter Legge blocked the release of several recordings for half a century. The Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra’s sessions moved from Geneva to its home town in 1963 and continued there until 1985. The exiled Philharmonia Hungarica recorded in West Germany from 1969-75. There were a few engagements with the Bavarian Radio in Munich from 1977- 82, but the first substantial contract with a German symphony orchestra did not come until 1982. -

Besucht die Blocherer Kunstakademie in München.Trifft Ludwig Prinz zu Sayn-Wittgenstein auf Fronturlaub; verlobt sich nach wenigen Tagen. Überlebt die Kriegswirren im zerbombten Schloss Sayn. Nachdem ihr Mann von einem Auto überfahren wird, baut die Witwe das Schloss gemeinsam mit ihren Kindern wieder auf. Beginnt 1970 als professionelle Photographin für Zeitungen zu arbeiten. Anregung durch Lilli Palmer und Karl Lagerfeld; ab 1991 Einzelausstellungen in Salzburg, München und Berlin. 1999 erscheint ihr Photoband Mamarazza im Steidl-Verlag. Seit 2003 eigene Sayn-Wittgenstein-Collection in der Galerie Budja am Universitätsplatz in Salzburg, inklusive Künstlerportraits von Andy Warhol und Salvador Dali. Sohn Alexander digitalisiert derzeit 100.000 Negative und präsentiert die Ausstellung Saynerzeit auf dem Familienschloss in Deutschland. She is research assistant at the Institute for Cultural Management since march 2013. After studying international economics (term abroad at the CERAM ESC-Nice Sophia Antipolis, France), she worked as an assistant at the Institute for Strategic Management, Marketing and Tourism at the University of Innsbruck. She received her PhD in 2008. Her research projects and publications deal with the interface between culture and economics with a main focus on management, success and the value of music and performing arts. Katja Brandes | Stift Klosterneuburg Katja Brandes, art historian (PhD University of Vienna) since 2012 head of of art education, Stift Klosterneuburg; since 2005 art education at Stiftsatelier Klosterneuburg and Büchereien Wien (Vienna Public Libraries); 2004-06 post-graduate course ecm "educating/curating/managing" University of Applied Arts, Vienna Barbara Huber | Radio Orange 94.0 was born 1976 in Linz/Austria and started to work with and in Community Media in 2002 at the Community Radiostation Radio FRO in Linz. She was active within Open Source contextes, did a lot of technical and acoustical workshop here and elsewhere in Europe and was involved in inter-european media contextes, where she travelled a lot (mainly Central and Eastern Europe). In 2005 she decided to move to Slovakia, where she was making a living by teaching German and founding a cultural organisation COL-ME, which did cultural and artistical projects.
