Six species were identified: Lagocephalus sceleratus (Gmelin, 1789), Lagocephalus suezensis Clark and Gohar, 1953, Lagocephalus guentheri Miranda Ribeiro, 1915, Lagocephalus lagocephalus (Linnaeus, 1758), Torquigener flavimaculosus Hardy & Randall, 1983 and Sphoeroides pachygaster (Müller & Troschel, 1848). Of these, L. guentheri, L. suezensis, S. pachygaster and T. flavi- maculosus were recorded for first time in the Egyptian Mediterranean waters. Pufferfishes were captured from sandy, rocky and muddy-bottom habitats from shallow waters to more than 150 m deep. The presence of different tropical puffer fish species in the Egyptian Mediterranean waters reflects the ongoing Lessepsian migration and expansion of its distributions, particularly for L. sceleratus which was the common distributed one along the coast. -

The Code of Conduct for Responsibility Fisheries (CCRF) is required to study biological aspects such as the length and weight of the catch caught by stick held dip net (bouke-ami) fishing gear than can also be used as reference in the framework of fisheries management. The purpose of this study was to determine the status of utilization of Devis’ anchovy (Encrasicholina devisi (Whitley, 1940)) resource. A total of 9,392 individuals were sampled from the types of small scale commercial vessel bouke ami units operating around Kutai Kartanegara waters from January to December 2017. The data were analyzed by using FiSAT II. The results showed that the frequency distribution mode of the total length ranged from 68 to 74 mm. The value of Lc50% (51.56 mm) < ½ L∞ (65.1 mm) indicated that the size is still small or not feasible to catch. The Devis’ anchovy has positive allometric growth. The growth analysis shows that anchovies in this area can grow until 122.0 mm (Lmax). The Von Bertalanffy equation is 130.2(1-e{- 1.3(t-(-0.081)}). The status of the rate of exploitation was underfishing. The natural mortality rate is greater than the mortality rate due to capture. -

In Eastern Region, Research present study the smallest size observed was 8.4 cm total length and 4.7 gm weight, the largest size was Centre, Ranchi, Jharkhand, 15.3 cm TL and 28.13 gm weight. The value of growth constant a = 0.0167 and b = 2.7273. In the present India study the b value was less than the ideal b (3) value which means the Stolephorus indicus shows the negative allometric growth pattern. The coefficient of determination of Stolephorus indicus was 0.9283, N Jayakumar which indicates a significant relation between the length and weight of the species. Research report on China’s trash fish fisheries Greenpeace East-Asia 2017 Definition: Trash fish: in this study, trash fish refers to those leftovers on the port, which are usually mixture of poorly preserved, small sized and low commercial valued species of fishes and invertebrates. Not directly consumed by human, trash fish are mainly used as feeds (mainly as fish feeds and also as feeds for other types of animals). Trash fish normally contains groups of species as following: ● Commercial species: comparatively high in commercial value, with larger production volume o Edible commercial species : fish and invertebrate species that could be consumed directly by humans if they were allowed to grow larger to mature or beyond mature body sizes o Non-edible commercial species: species that would not be consumed directly by humans even if they did grow to meet mature standard. Instead they are of value for processing into fish meal, fish oil and other non-food products ● Non-commercial species: low in commercial value, no scalable production volume In this research we mainly analyzed the fish samples based on the categorization above. Each fish individual can be divided into either mature or immature (=juvenile) stages : ● Juvenile fish: individuals which have not yet attained sexual maturation ● Adult fish: individuals with reproductive capability 1 Preface The 21st Century has brought with it a major challenge for mankind; one that has yet to be met. For the first time in our history we have entered a crisis of seafood supply. Our growing human populations and burgeoning demand for nutritious and plentiful seafood has exceeded what wild nature can supply in perpetuity. -
