WILLSON CONTRERAS (1-for-1, HR, R, 2 RBI) hit a pinch-hit two-run homer on the first pitch of his first major league plate appearance … is the first Cubs player with a homer in his first plate appearance since Jorge Soler, August 27, 2014 at Cincinnati … was the first pinch-hit homer by the Cubs this season.  Became the first MLB player with a homer on his first career pitch seen since Minnesota’s Eddie Rosario, May 6, 2015 against the A's … first NL player to do so since Pittsburgh’s Starling Marte, July 26, 2012 against the Astros … first Cubs player to do so since Jim Bullinger, June 8, 1992 at the Cardinals (thanks STATS Inc.).  Is the first Cubs player to homer in his first major league at-bat at Wrigley Field since catcher Cuno Barragan, September 1, 1961 vs. the Giants (thanks Elias).

KYLE HENDRICKS struck out a career-high 12 batters, his first double-digit game … the 12 tied the most by a Cubs pitcher this season (, 12, June 5 vs. Arizona) … became the first Cubs pitcher with 12 strikeouts and no walks in a game since Matt Garza, April 3, 2011 vs. Pittsburgh … improved to 4-1 with a 1.93 ERA (10 ER/46.2 IP) in seven home starts, striking out 46 and walking five.  Cubs starting pitchers have allowed three or fewer earned runs in 22-straight games, going 14-4 with a 1.76 ERA (28 ER/143.0 IP) during the stretch ... since 1920, the 22-game streak is tied for the second-longest by a Cubs starting staff, trailing only a 31-start stretch in 1992.

ANTHONY RIZZO (3-for-4, HR, 2 R, 3 RBI) collected his team-leading 10th game winning RBI, tied for the most in the majors … has batted .555 (10-for-18) with two doubles, four homers and a .692 OBP in his last seven games at Wrigley Field.

JOSH HARRISON (2-for-5, HR, R, RBI) connected on his first homer since May 11 at Cincinnati.

JAMESON TAILLON allowed four runs and three homers in 4.0 innings after allowing three runs and one homer in his first two-career starts (14.0 IP).
