The center will house more than 200 retail stores, as well as cafes, restaurants, an ice arena, a movie theater, a bowling club and children’s playground areas. OUR MAJOR PROJECTS A new home for Danske Bank’s Global service center in Vilnius Mitnija built a new business center for the M. M. M. Projektai real estate development company in Vilnius. It was built in the Žvėrynas neighborhood near the city center on Saltoniškių Street in a former industrial area. The new business center became the home of Danske Bank’s Global Service Center. The project’s first phase comprises a 6-story, 12,000 square- meter office building, a 340-space underground parking lot, and 130 ground-level parking spaces. The 2-hectare area managed by M. M. M. Projektai can hold a total of 60,000 square meters of commercial buildings. The M. M. M. Projektai business center is distinguished not only by its modern and efficient architecture, but by its state-of-the-art construction and technological solutions. The roof of the A-class energy efficient building features solar panels that will generate a tenth of the structure’s required electricity. New bicycle paths were expanded and installed around the structure along with 11 electric vehicle charging stations. The business center was built according to sustainable development principles and with the goal of earning a BREEAM certificate. In this project, Mitnija focused not only on innovative architectural solutions or engineering systems, but on responsible construction management, the creation of convenient and modern jobs during construction, and communication with the local community as well. 12 13 WHAT WE DO. The relations between Romanian militaries and civilians in the operational areas were based on the formers’ responsible commitment, as well as on the ability to inspire confidence, good will, respect, appreciation and consideration. With Romania joining NATO structures, the experience of the Alliance in the field of relations between soldiers and civilians made possible the embrace of the CIMIC concept and the establishment of the first specialized structures in this field. I do consider that the process is still in the beginnings. The perception by various categories of army forces of the role and importance of CIMIC in fulfilling their missions, especially in terms of their participation in missions outside the national territory, is not yet at the expected level within this research. The answers given by interviewees to the research questions were often conventional, with little depth of observation. Practically, all respondents agreed, at the maximum acceptance level, to my views, which was why a statistical processing of the answers was not necessary. However, I have used the observations of those who have been involved, with detailed responses with maximum receptivity. I do believe that this perception will improve, as challenges arise and awareness of the existence of specialists responding to these challenges.
