I am deeply committed to requiring respect from and to all parties and aim to impart that message on my fellow Councilors. I am also interested in ensuring that ALA is reflective of its members needs and wishes. As a member of ALA and 4 of its divisions, I have had the honor of serving on different committees and collecting various experiences through that work. My hope is to help guide the divisions in providing the best information, support, and experience for all members. A graduate of the Kent State University (Ohio) School of Library/Information Science and KSU College of Education School Library Media Certification), Tom was a teacher-librarian and consultant for the Indian Valley Local Schools (Ohio) from 1999-2009 and is president of the Visiting Librarian Service, a contract librarian firm he has operated on a full or part-time basis since 1993. As we enter a new age of library services (with its emphasis on technology), it would be both an honor and a privilege to join with my ALA sisters and brothers to analyze issues, develop policy, and understand concepts that will lead the library profession into the future.
