With over 40 years of experience in filmmaking and the production of educational materials, communicating to the public worldwide has long been Cousteau Society’s expertise.

Captain Cousteau, an eminent scientist and explorer, understood very early on how important knowledge would be to promote the protection of our blue planet. Following in his footsteps, we continue to produce which is understandable for everyone.

Our credo in speaking of the stakes and dangers of the environment is simple.

We highlight the breathtaking beauty of as it is why we protect it. Subsequently, we show the threats that weigh on nature in order to understand the risks of the situation, and ultimately, we offer a solution which opens up ways to take action and implement change. Our approach is to stay positive.

“If we were logical, indeed the future would be bleak. But we are more than logical. We are human beings, we have faith, we have hope and we can work hard.” J.Y. Cousteau

You are a scientific group a charity a company a laboratory a university a commission or an international organization?

Have you collected a significant amount of environmental data related to , water or change during a scientific project, a field analysis or an impact study?

These data are gathered in reports that ultimately prove to be too technical to be easily accessible and understandable for the general public and decision-makers? Do you want to valorise your results differently and on a larger ?

Do you want to put together a funding application for a thesis or post-doctorate whose problem is related to oceans, water or , but your «information dissemination» component lacks solidity? Otherwise, are you finishing a thesis or post-doctorate and would you like your conclusions to be widely disseminated in an original format that everyone can understand? Do you want your results to have a broad impact beyond the of research?

INFOGRAPHICSINFOGRAPHICS

Infographics are an essential medium for today’s communication. They offer the possibility to present modern data visualizations for an impactful and visually attractive result for the reader. Their digital format gives them great flexibility. Easily adaptable for social networks and computer reading, can also be set up in a printable format to be printed in panels for an exhibition. Moreover, if your target audience is international, it is very simple to translate an into multiple languages.

We offer to study your results and select the most interesting and relevant elements to illustrate.

We then adapt the type of graphical representation to the data, so that they are well represented and very easily understandable by everyone. The objective is to reach a large audience and deliver a clear message!

In the past few years, the Cousteau Society has developed many infographics, some of which are listed below:

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) are very powerful tools to represent geographic data. In particular, they allow the creation of very precise computer , in which several layers of information can be integrated to highlight data or point out certain essential elements.

If you need to present cartographic data, we offer to study your results and select the elements of interest to highlight.

We will then produce a visual representation of the integrating the selected elements. The resulting map can present several layers of data, allowing a clear and intuitive presentation of an often complex problem. This entirely computerized format can be easily adapted to various physical and digital media.

Here is an example of a map developed by the Cousteau Society during one of our projects:
