MATCH PREVIEW:______To the delight of Julian de Guzman and his players, Fury FC will have a quick opportunity to bounce back after their 3-0 loss to Orlando City on Wednesday. Ottawa continues its three-game road trip with their second stop coming in St. Petersburg with a date against their oldest rivals – the Tampa Bay Rowdies.

Fury FC enter into Saturday’s game after producing a convincing performance against Orlando without being able to find that vital finishing touch in front of goal. Ottawa generated 20 shots in Wednesday’s game – its second highest total of the season – and had its highest pass completion percentage in 2017, with 82.1%. De Guzman, who made his head coaching debut against OCB, is confident that his team has all the tools to turn things around against Tampa Bay. Ottawa will need to be more determined in front of goal and capitalize on its chances early in the game. Carl Haworth had another strong performance against Orlando, but despite five shots, three on goal, he wasn’t able to find the back of the net. The Canadian International, who was donning the captain’s armband for the first time this season - with Lance Rozeboom sidelined with an injury – is still looking for his first goal of the season.

If history suggests anything, expect a tightly contested affair between Fury FC and the Rowdies. Eight of the 11 lifetime meetings between the two clubs have been decided by a goal or less. Saturday will mark the last of three games between Ottawa and Tampa Bay this season. The Rowdies won the first game 1-0 on April 8 at Al Lang Stadium, while the second game ended in a 0-0 draw at TD Place on May 6. The Rowdies are coming off a 4-3 loss against Saint Louis FC that saw their five-game unbeaten streak come to an end last Sunday. After kicking off their inaugural campaign in the USL with seven wins in their first 11 games (7W-2D-2L), the Rowdies went on an eight-game winless skid (0W-4D-4L) before turning things around with their most recent five-game undefeated run.

Ottawa will remain without the services of centre back Shane McEleney who will serve the third and final game of his three match suspension.

WHAT THEY’RE SAYING:

Fury FC GM and Head Coach, Julian de Guzman: “It will be difficult and demanding. The climate and quality Tampa Bay offers won't make it easy for us, but we are well aware of that. We don't doubt that the Rowdies have something important to prove to their home fans since they have been unstoppable at home. A goal for us will open up opportunities to get a good result.”

Fury FC Goalkeeper, Callum Irving: “We see this game coming up as another opportunity to get three points. Every game from now until the end of the season is a chance for us to prove ourselves and put points on the board. We need to clean up our individual defensive mistakes and put away our chances. We're working hard as a team and sticking together through these tough games so I have faith we will come good on our hard work.”

Fury FC Defender, Andrae Campbell: “The game against Tampa is a very important game because it's the next game. And with a good result against a good team like the Rowdies, it could be the beginning of a good run for us. So we have to remain positive and keep believing in ourselves and in the team and fight for this organization. In order to do that, we need to take our chances against Tampa and be more ruthless in front of the goal.”
