While Fury FC gave TFC a scare in the Canadian Championship, TFC II have proven a thorn in Ottawa’s side. Fury FC will look to settle the score Saturday under the lights at TD Place in its third and final meeting against their neighbours from the ‘6ix’. Coming off a bye-week, Paul Dalglish’s side has had the opportunity to regroup and refocus for the second part of the season. It also allowed some players to heal some small knocks in order to be fully prepared for the final stretch. Fury FC heavily focused on offence in the last two weeks of training. Finishing drill after finishing drill, after finishing drill. Dalglish hopes that his side will be more effective in the final third and start taking advantage of the numerous scoring chances they generated during a game. In its last five games, Ottawa generated 53 shots towards the opposition’s goal and 33 came from inside the box, but the club scored only five goals and was held scoreless in its last fixture against Toronto. Fury FC will be looking to avenge their 1-0 loss suffered against TFC II on July 8 in Toronto, in a game that they completely dominated. Saturday will mark the second of four consecutive home matches for Fury FC and the team will also hope to feed off of the crowd’s energy. Ottawa has only suffered one loss at home this season. Toronto comes to Ottawa after suffering a 2-0 loss against the Rhinos in a midweek clash in Rochester and is currently on a two-game losing skid. After winning only one game in their first 13 matches, Toronto FC II have won two of their last six games, but Jason Bent’s side has the worst defence and offence in the Eastern Conference, having allowed 27 goals and scoring just 10 in 18 games. WHAT THEY’RE SAYING: Fury FC GM and Head Coach, Paul Dalglish: “We owe them one. We’ve played well against them twice, but only one point to show for us, so we are really motivated for this one. We’ve had a weekend off to get fresh and get rid of all those midseason niggles. The break came at a great time, although you always want to keep playing, it really came at a great time.
