DIOCESAN CYCLE OF PRAYER May 2021 – June 2021 God our Father, renew our hope. By the Holy Spirit’s power strengthen us to pray readily, serve joyfully and grow abundantly rejoicing in Jesus Christ our Lord. We give thanks for the use of technology which enables us to post a weekly Sunday Service and to continue church meetings, and for our Open the Book team to resume story telling. We give thanks for the resumption of in-person worship from Mothering Sunday and for strong attendances at our Easter services. We pray that our on-line services will continue to reach out to people beyond our church buildings, and that our new patterns of worship in the Churches become established. Also praying for the launch of our new evening service in St Michael’s Church and for the Leadership Team preparing to put our plans into practice. Please pray for our developing partnership with Sturt’s Community Trust and St Mary’s First School and Nursery in developing food education and addressing food poverty in our town. We give thanks for the Spirit filled conversations so far and look forward in hope as we ‘Love God and Love West Moors’. When our families are broken by circumstance and pain, you reach out to hold us in your arms, piece by piece you make us whole again. And in your love-filled hands we are transformed. Loving Father, help us to build and re-build relationships in all corners of our hearts. To be like you, to love like you, to heal brokenness and restore wholeness in our own families and in families worldwide. Renew us by Your Holy Spirit and Word, as we rebuild and rethink ways of being the people of God. We pray for the safe arrival of Dale Edy (Children, Youth & Families worker) and his family. Please pray that all of us - the bereaved, the unwell, the over-worked and the unemployed, the isolated and the overwhelmed, and the tired clergy trying to pray, pastor and preach amid them all - may we all encounter this day one small, astonishing moment of wonder and beauty and encouragement in which we can breathe in that 'God is here.' As Covid restrictions ease, please pray for the resumption of community links with care homes, school, the local health centre and Funeral directors. Pray for safety for all as we meet face to face for fellowship in church and in the halls. 14 May – Matthias the Apostle Broadstone, Poole & North Bournemouth Deanery Clergy: Helen Bailey, Lyndon Webb, Patrick Hastings, Paul Renyard. Reader Emeritus: Margaret Breedon. Please pray for our NorthReach building project, hopefully beginning soon, to create new rooms through which we wish to serve our community. Pray for our conversations about LLF in June, our desire to support community needs which have emerged during the Covid pandemic, and for our launch of Forest Church, Eco Chapel and environmental initiatives. 15 May Canford Cliffs and Sandbanks, Poole & North Bournemouth Deanery Clergy: Andrew O'Brien, Tom Pelham. We give thanks that we have continued communal worship in church when we have been legally allowed to do so. Please pray for discernment as we resume a parish review interrupted by Lockdown, that we may know God’s will for the mission of his church in this place. Pray for: • Transition back to 'person to person'; • Revival of Children & Families work; • Progress with COGS building project. 19 May Lilliput, Poole & North Bournemouth Deanery Clergy: Louise Ellis, Aidan Smith, Peter Huxham. Please pray for as us begin meeting together more and seek to find a balance between online and in person worship and groups. We pray for Lilliput CE Infant School, giving thanks for the tremendous work they have done over the past year, and continue to do each day. On the first anniversary of the completion, we give thanks to God for the amazing opportunities of the extended church building. Please pray for us:- For our quest to grow deeper in our discipleship and to grow new disciples to love and to serve As we begin to look at how we can use the building to serve our community post covid. In the setting up and opening of a community café in September. For our finances to pay our bills and to begin to pay back the £300,000 building loan.
