    2016 Rally Sweden February 11 - 14, 2016 ROUND 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 Rally Sweden February 11 - 14, 2016 2016 HYUNDAI’S HELLO Welcome to Rally Sweden, round two of the 2016 FIA World Rally Championship and another new challenge for Hyundai Motorsport. Rally Sweden will be the second event for the New Generation i20 WRC and a second different surface. We have tested on snow back in December and again last week with the new car and it’s gone well with no major issues. The drivers have been happy too; they’ve found good set-ups for the differential and the dampers so I think they are all quite confident. Thierry finished second in Sweden last year in the 2015 car but the drivers say that the New Generation i20 WRC feels even better. The car is a bit longer so it should be more stable on fast sections of road like you get in Sweden. We believe we have gained a bit of traction too, which is important on a low-grip surface like snow. In Sweden the car runs on gravel specification but there are specific details you can prepare for this event. You don’t want to get too much snow in the car because it adds extra weight so you have to make sure it is well sealed, inside the wheel arches and underneath the car. Also, because of the cold temperatures we don’t have to cool down the car as much as usual so we’ll use a different radiator.

    Pneumatici in primo piano al Rally di Svezia | 1 Il secondo round del Campionato del Mondo Rally 2015 ha messo alla prova i quattro fornitori di pneumatici – Michelin, Dmack, Pirelli e Hankook – permettendo alle gomme di avere un ruolo di primo piano nello svolgimento della corsa. Ghiaccio, neve fresca e compatta e fango congelato, hanno reso necessario l’utilizzo dei chiodi per garantire grip in ogni condizione: sono ben 384 in ogni Michelin X-Ice North 3, per esempio. Jacques Morelli, responsabile del programma World Rally Championship di Michelin, ha commentato: “Il fatto che i chiodi si muovono all’interno dei blocchi del battistrada indebolisce la rigidità e la mescola, tappa dopo tappa. Il montaggio di gomme fresche per l’ultima prova del sabato ha permesso di beneficiare del potenziale completo delle Michelin X-Ice North 3, che con i tasselli più rigidi e i chiodi più appuntiti hanno permesso di avere grip perfetto sul ghiaccio.” Michelin ha detto che i chiodi e il modo in cui sono sistemati all’interno dei pneumatici, accanto alle nuove tecnologie utilizzate per il battistrada del X-Ice North 3, hanno permesso di fornire maggiore trazione sul ghiaccio rispetto a quella tradizionalmente fornita sulla ghiaia. Volkswagen Motorsport ha confermato: “Grazie ai pneumatici chiodati Michelin che abbiamo avuto per il Rally di Svezia, siamo stati in grado di vedere che la trazione della nostra macchina era migliore sul ghiaccio rispetto a quella sulla ghiaia.     2030 RALLYCAR PROJECT TRANSPORTATION DESIGN THESIS 2016 HENRI HOKKANEN LAHTI UNIVERSITY OF APPLIED SCIENCES © Henri Hokkanen 2016 Abstrakti Vuonna 1986 suomen kirkkain rallilupaus Henri Toivonen menehtyi onnettomuudessa Korsikan rallissa. Siitä kaksi vuotta eteenpäin kes- ki-suomessa tuoreet vanhemmat päätyivät nimeämään esikoisensa tämän rallilupauksen mukaan. Autot kiinnosti Henriä aina, vaikkei rallin am- mattilaista hänestä tullutkaan. VHS-nauhureissa pyöri lastenohjelmien sijaan lähinnä Juha Kankkusesta tehtyjä rallivideoita. Tommi Mäkinen oli Henrille ensimmäinen rallin supertähti. Jyväskylän suurajot oli niin iso tapahtuma pienelle pojalle, että ei sitä voinut ollenkaan käsittää, että mi- ten voi nähdä samat autot luonnossa, mitkä aiemmin näki vain televisiossa. Myöhemmällä iällä Henristä tuli kuitenkin ajamisen ammattilainen, vaikkei työkaluna ralliauto ollutkaan. Ajamisen lisäksi myös piirtäminen kävi helposti ja vilkas mielikuvitus vei monenlaisiin seikkailuihin. Nyt seikkailut ovat vieneet Henrin Lahteen opiskelemaan ajoneuvomuotoilua. Jos ei tiedä tämän opinnäytetyön aihetta vielä, niin nyt siitä alkaa varmaan olemaan jo pieni aavistus. Abstract In 1986 finnish professional rallycar driver Henri Toivonen died in a crash in Corsica rally. After two years recently became parents in middle-fin- land named their first child after him. Henri was always interested about cars, but still he didn’t became professional rallycar driver. During his childhood years, he used to watch rallyvideos about Juha Kankkunen instead of any other kids shows. Tommi Mäkinen was his first rally super- star. Jyväskylän suurajot (finnish rally before neste rally finland) was so big event for a little child like Henri, that he couldn’t understand that how it is possible to see those cars in real life, what hwe has seen before only in television.
