Sébastien Ogier/Julien Ingrassia (F/F) were crowned World Rally Champions for the fourth time in a row after taking victory at the Rally Spain. They guided their Volkswagen Polo R WRC to a fifth win of the season in Catalonia, finishing ahead of Dani Sordo/Marc Martí (E/E, Hyundai) und Thierry Neuville/Nicolas Gilsoul (B/B, Hyundai). Their ninth podium in eleven races triggered wild celebrations. The Frenchmen can no longer be caught at the top of the overall standings in the 2016 FIA World Rally Championship (WRC). Team-mates Andreas Mikkelsen/Anders Jæger (N/N) went into the Rally Spain as their closest rivals in the title race, but the Norwegians’ hopes of winning the championship were dashed when they were forced to retire from the rally.     1 Dear motorist sport fans, Barum Czech Rally Zlín belongs to the most important motorsport events in the Czech Republic, in 2021 the rally will go for its 50th edition. The tradition of this event is closely connected to very high popularity of rallysport in this country and it has been year by year proved by the number of spectators. The importance of this rally was also readable from the media interest - in 2019, 275 journalist teams from 17 countries came to Zlín. The long-term partner of the event is the Barum Continental company. Connecting the biggest and the most successful tyre producer in the Czech Republic with the most important motorsport event in the country makes very solid relationship and helps to provide good name both the company and the rally. Like in the past, this tyre producer will be the main partner of the rally also during the 50th edition of the Barum Czech Rally Zlín. This rally, which is located in Moravian city of Zlín, has been developed during the years up to the top of the motorsport scene in the Czech Republic and every year it's been the pioneer with introducing new features and innovations to the rallysport. Since 1983 the rally has been a part of European Rally Championship and from 2007 it was a part promoted by TV station Eurosport. With this step the quality of the rally rose up. The rally HQ as well as the start and finish ramp are as usually located in the centre of Zlín city. The whole rally action will be launched with scrutineering held in Otrokovice Service Area on Thursday afternoon, August 26.

    2016 Rally Sweden February 11 - 14, 2016 ROUND 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 Rally Sweden February 11 - 14, 2016 2016 HYUNDAI’S HELLO Welcome to Rally Sweden, round two of the 2016 FIA World Rally Championship and another new challenge for Hyundai Motorsport. Rally Sweden will be the second event for the New Generation i20 WRC and a second different surface. We have tested on snow back in December and again last week with the new car and it’s gone well with no major issues. The drivers have been happy too; they’ve found good set-ups for the differential and the dampers so I think they are all quite confident. Thierry finished second in Sweden last year in the 2015 car but the drivers say that the New Generation i20 WRC feels even better. The car is a bit longer so it should be more stable on fast sections of road like you get in Sweden. We believe we have gained a bit of traction too, which is important on a low-grip surface like snow. In Sweden the car runs on gravel specification but there are specific details you can prepare for this event. You don’t want to get too much snow in the car because it adds extra weight so you have to make sure it is well sealed, inside the wheel arches and underneath the car. Also, because of the cold temperatures we don’t have to cool down the car as much as usual so we’ll use a different radiator.

Februar 2015 Hyundai mit drei i20 WRC zum Winterklassiker in Schweden • Hyundai Motorsport zum ersten Mal in der Saison 2015 mit drei World Rally Cars • Hayden Paddon ersetzt den verletzten Stammfahrer Dani Sordo • Kevin Abbring steuert i20 WRC im Hyundai Mobis World Rally Team Alzenau. Gestärkt durch zwei Top-Sechs-Platzierungen bei der Rallye Monte Carlo reist Hyundai Motorsport zum zweiten Lauf der Rallye-Weltmeisterschaft (WRC) nach Schweden (12.-15. Februar 2015). Zum ersten Mal in der neuen Saison wird Hyundai drei i20 WRC einsetzen. Nachdem sich Stammfahrer Dani Sordo bei einem Mountainbike-Unfall in Spanien zwei Rippen gebrochen hat und bis zur Rallye Mexiko im März pausiert, musste das im deutschen Alzenau beheimatete Team in letzter Minute einen Fahrerwechsel vornehmen: Hayden Paddon/John Kennard pilotieren Sordos Auto mit der Startnummer 8, für die Neuseeländer ist dies der erste von zwölf geplanten WM-Starts. Der Niederländer Kevin Abbring gibt mit seinem britischen Beifahrer Sebastian Marshall im dritten Fahrzeug mit der Nummer 20 sein Debüt im neu verkündeten Hyundai Mobis World Rally Team. Die Rallye Schweden ist der einzige Winter-Event im WRC-Kalender. Die 21 verschneiten und vereisten Wertungsprüfungen über insgesamt 308 Kilometer bieten eine einzigartige Herausforderung für die Teams und Fahrer. Die Veranstaltung beginnt am Donnerstagabend mit einer Superspecial in Karlstad. Am Freitag werden Prüfungen in Norwegen gefahren. Am Samstag konzentriert sich das Geschehen auf die verschneiten Wälder rund um den Servicepark in Hagfors. Den Abschluss bildet die 15,87 Kilometer lange Power Stage „Värmullsåsen“ am Sonntag. Hyundai Motorsport hat den weiterentwickelten Hyundai i20 WRC Mitte Dezember mit einem viertägigen Test in Schweden für die zweite Teilnahme bei dem Winter-Klassiker vorbereitet.
