Kunden und Fans von Kremer Racing dürfen sich freuen: Die Kölner Sportwagenspezialisten bauen für die Saison 2016 einen ganz speziellen Kremer Porsche auf: Aktuelle Technik mit einer sehr authentisch nachempfundenen Optik des Kremer Porsche 935 K3, einer der erfolgreichsten Rennwagen Ende der 70er und Anfang der 80er Jahre. Es war das siegreichste Auto der Rennsaison 1979: auf Basis des Porsche 930 Turbo bauten Erwin und Manfred Kremer ihre eigene Weiterentwicklung: den Kremer Porsche 935 K3 mit 3,2 Liter Biturbo Motor, Ladeluftkühlung und bis zu 850 PS Leistung. Der Erfolg stellte sich schnell ein: Klaus Ludwig gewann 10 von 11 Läufen zur deutschen Rennsportmeisterschaft und wurde natürlich DRM-Meister im Jahr 1979. Vorzeitiger Höhepunkt der Rennsaison war insbesondere der Gesamtsieg bei den 24 Stunden von Le Mans im gleichen Jahr, als Privatteam und gegen viele Werke! Jetzt wurde von Kremer Racing die Idee realisiert, eine Kremer-Edition auf die Räder zu stellen, welche Tradition und Neuzeit optimal verbindet. Die Kölner Techniker präparieren auf Basis eines Porsche 997 GT 3 Cup eine aerodynamische Optimierung, die sich am Stil des legendären Kremer Porsche 935 K3 inspiriert. Holger Zimmermann mit seiner Firma Zimspeed produziert die Außenhaut, wie damals schon sein Vater Ekkehard mit dem Hause Kremer eng verbunden war. Sébastien Ogier/Julien Ingrassia (F/F) were crowned World Rally Champions for the fourth time in a row after taking victory at the Rally Spain. They guided their Volkswagen Polo R WRC to a fifth win of the season in Catalonia, finishing ahead of Dani Sordo/Marc Martí (E/E, Hyundai) und Thierry Neuville/Nicolas Gilsoul (B/B, Hyundai). Their ninth podium in eleven races triggered wild celebrations. The Frenchmen can no longer be caught at the top of the overall standings in the 2016 FIA World Rally Championship (WRC). Team-mates Andreas Mikkelsen/Anders Jæger (N/N) went into the Rally Spain as their closest rivals in the title race, but the Norwegians’ hopes of winning the championship were dashed when they were forced to retire from the rally. Eighth place in the Manufacturers’ classifications for Jari-Matti Latvala/Miikka Anttila (FIN/FIN) means Volkswagen is well- placed to claim its fourth Manufacturers’ title in a row next time out at the Rally Great Britain.
