Center Grove High School has chosen Keith Hatfield as its new head coach for varsity baseball. Hatfield served as head baseball coach for Roncalli High School for four years. He is a graduate of Roncalli and of the University of Indianapolis (UIndy) where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Administration and is pursuing a Master’s in teaching. Hatfield served as a pitching coach at UIndy for two years before moving to Roncalli. He also pitched for UIndy for four years while obtaining his undergraduate degree, setting a record of 66 career appearances. In high school, he was a pitcher and first baseman on Roncalli’s 2003 Marion County championship baseball team. Hatfield and his wife, Deanna, live on the Southside. Deanna (Thomson) Hatfield is a 2004 CGHS graduate. Hatfield’s selection is pending approval by the Center Grove Community School Corporation Board of School Trustees at its January meeting. He replaces long-time coach Dave Gandolph, who announced last month his plans to retire at the end of the year. DISPATCH What’s the perfect gift this year?
