Mifflinburg Area School District 4 Mifflinburg Area School District May 7, 2018 The Mifflinburg FFA Greenhouse Sale is in Full Bloom! The Mifflinburg FFA Greenhouse Sale has begun. Pictured to the left are Ag Students, Dustin Parker, Gavin Heimbach and Colton Hare, currently Juniors in the High School. All three have participated in the Ag Program for three years. They enjoy the work that goes into the Plant Sale including starting all of the plants from seeds, taking care of them, watering them and getting them ready for the sale. Gavin is used to working on a farm as his family owns a dairy farm, and his friend Dustin is always there helping him out. Colton’s Pap has a beef and pig farm where he helps out. All three are happy to see the fruits of their labor watching the plants grow until they can pick the vegetables right off of them. The Horticulture Class currently has nine students in it, and the Ag Program has 140 kids active in the Program. Everyone helps out with the sale at some point, and they appreciate the support of the community. Sweet peppers available to purchase for your garden. Beautiful hanging baskets to brighten up any room or porch! Some of the plants available for purchase are: Roma, Beefsteak and Cherry Tomatoes, Green Peppers, Lettuce and Salad Greens, Broccoli, a variety of herbs including Oregano, Parsley, Basil, Mint, Rosemary and many different Spring assorted flowers.
