Thank you! 6 TFN COMMUNITY NOTICE | THURSDAY,SEPTEMBER 24, 2020 Government Submissions TFN PLACEMAKING PROJECT: TFN NEEDS NATURE INSPIRED TFN PHOTOS! A pilot project of the TFN placemaking initiative is considering wrapping some existing utility boxes within the Members Priority Area. If you have any photos that show the nature, landscape, history around TFN lands, please email them to Andrea Jacobs at ajacobs@tsawwassenfirstnation. com before Monday, September 28, 2020. The Placemaking initiative has been recognized as a legacy project to create a unique identity for TFN lands. The placemaking themes can be broadly categorized into banners, streetscape furnishings, public transit shelters, signage, murals, playgrounds, parks, public art, gateways, vinyl wraps that can be applied on utility boxes, lamp standards, recycling bins, industrial containers, metal railings, signage structures and other architectural forms. On May 05, 2020 EC approved awarding a contract to Eric Robertson as the “Art Consultant” leading the background work for this project. Phase 1, completed by the Consultant consists of background research of various existing placemaking ideas, concepts, which is a visual compilation of material, gathered on-sites and online with most images documented on Vancouver Island, within the Coast Salish traditional territory, produced by indigenous artists and informed by Coast Salish themes. Phase 2 of this project has begun. So far, we have connected with TFN Youth, Elders through Zoom meeting and with the Advisory Council through Zoom meeting, to share some existing placemaking examples. We have also emailed and mailed surveys to all members on and off lands seek your input and understand what placemaking on TFN lands means to you. Please email back competed surveys to [email protected] before September 30, 2020. Your ideas on what Placemaking means for TFN lands is very important!!! Phase 3 will involve the Art Consultant working collaboratively with a list of resident artists on various components of placemaking. THANK YOU! 7 TFN COMMUNITY NOTICE | THURSDAY,SEPTEMBER 24, 2020 Government Submissions TFN ROAD ACCESS NOTIFICATION 2020 NOTICE OF WORK – FALCON WAY As part of the development work for the Boardwalk Project, Aquilini/TFSI Development LP will be completing a watermain connection on Falcon Way at Heron Court. There will be no interruption to water service to Falcon Way residents during the connection work. To complete the work there will be periods where there will be single lane, alternating traffic. Traffic control will be in place during these times. Work will commence on September 8th and be complete by September 25th. If you have any questions or concerns please contact Aquilini/TFSI Development at 604.899.5357 8 TFN COMMUNITY NOTICE | THURSDAY,SEPTEMBER 24, 2020 Government Submissions During the month of August 2020, the Policy, Intergovernmental Affairs and Government Services department (PIGA/GS) conducted a COVID-19 Support Survey upon request from Executive Council. The objective of the survey was to get a better understanding of how COVID-19 has affectedTsawwassen Members. In addition, we wanted to understand how the Tsawwassen Government can best support Members during the pandemic.
