ALTA Recognizes Partners in Leadership and Innovation

Nassau (November 14, 2014) - ALTA, the Latin America & Caribbean Air Transport Association, presented two Federico Bloch awards this year as part of the 11th ALTA Airline Leaders Forum. One was awarded to Germán Efromovich, President of Synergy Group and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Avianca and another was presented to Roberto Kriete, Cofounder of Avianca Holdings S.A. & Member of its Board of Directors. Both leaders demonstrated outstanding leadership and vision in the industry of aviation.

Efromovich and Kriete conceived, negotiated and consummated a landmark deal that has fundamentally changed the commercial aviation landscape in Latin America and the Caribbean and precipitated other substantial consolidation activity in the region. The Grupo Synergy-Grupo TACA merger is one of two airlines coming from positions of strength and becoming stronger together. In the spirit of entrepreneurship, innovation, cooperation and integrity the panel of jurors unanimously decided to award the Federico Bloch recognitions to German Efromovich and Roberto Kriete. The award honors the memory of Federico Bloch, a pioneer in Latin American aviation and the driving force behind the creation of Grupo TACA.

Germán Efromovich, stated: "It is a true honor for me to receive the Federico Bloch award, presented by the Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association to those who have distinguished themselves as promoters of the development of the aviation industry in

the region. With profound personal satisfaction I wish to share it with each and every one of the collaborators related to the airlines in the Avianca group. Today we can see ahead of us a promising future, for which we are now preparing through modernization, expansion and improvements in the industry".

Roberto Kriete concluded, "It is an honor to be recognized with an award that commemorates the legacy of my friend and colleague Federico Bloch, a pioneer in Latin American aviation with whom we shared the vision of a united region through commercial aviation. This recognition reassures my conviction in working towards the development of this industry, which is not only my work but my passion in integrating Latin America and facilitating growth and new opportunities. I have always believed that the key to a successful business is its people, that talent that melds teams together. This award is a recognition to their commitment."

Prior award recipients have included Enrique Cueto, Constantino de Oliveira Jr., Mauricio Botelho, Robert Booth, Pedro Heilbron, Enrique Beltranena, Matías Campiani, David Neeleman, Andrés Conesa and Alex de Gunten..

No winner was named for the Rolim Amaro award this year.

Nassau (Noviembre 14, 2014) - ALTA, la Asociación Latinoamericana y del Caribe de Transporte Aéreo, presentó dos premios Federico Bloch este año como parte del 11º Foro ALTA de Líderes de Aerolíneas. Uno de ellos se le otorgó a Germán Efromovich, Presidente de Synergy Group y de la Junta Directiva de Avianca y el otro se le presentó a Roberto Kriete, co-fundador de Avianca Holdings S.A. y Miembro de la junta directiva de Avianca. Ambos líderes demostraron liderazgo excepcional y visión en la industria de la aviación.

Efromovich y Kriete crearon, negociaron y consumaron una fusión histórica que fundamentalmente cambió el paisaje de la aviación comercial en Latinoamérica y el Caribe y precipitó la consolidación de otras empresas en la región. La unión del Grupo Synergy - Grupo TACA fue una de dos aerolíneas que ya estaban sólidamente posicionadas individualmente y juntas, se fortalecieron aún más. En el espíritu de iniciativa empresarial, innovación, cooperación e integridad el panel del jurado unánimamente decidió otorgarle los premios Federico Bloch a Germán Efromovich y a Roberto Kriete. El reconocimiento honra la memoria de Federico Bloch, un pionero de la aviación Latinoamericana y la fuerza impulsadora detrás de la creación del Grupo TACA.

Germán Efromovich anotó: "Para mí es un verdadero honor recibir el premio Federico Bloch entregado por la Asociación Latinoamericana de Transporte Aéreo a quienes se han destacado como promotores del desarrollo de la industria aérea en la región. Con la profunda satisfacción personal que me genera este reconocimiento, deseo extenderlo y compartirlo con todos y cada uno de los colaboradores adscritos a las aerolíneas del grupo Avianca. El presente nos proyecta un futuro promisorio, para el cual nos preparamos desde ya a través de la modernización, expansión y mejoramiento del sector".

Por su parte, Roberto Kriete dijo: "Es un honor ser reconocido con este premio que conmemora el legado de mi amigo y colega Federico Bloch, un pionero de la aviación comercial latinoamericana, con quien compartimos la visión de una región unida a través de la aviación comercial. Este reconocimiento reitera mi convicción de seguir trabajando en el desarrollo de esta industria, que más que un trabajo es mi pasión por integrar Latinoamérica, facilitar el desarrollo y propiciar la creación de nuevas oportunidades. Creo firmemente que el secreto para el éxito empresarial es la gente, el

talento humano que integra los equipos de trabajo. Este premio es reconocimiento a su compromiso."

Los ganadores del premio en años previos han sido Enrique Cueto, Constantino de Oliveira Jr., Mauricio Botelho, Robert Booth, Pedro Heilbron, Enrique Beltranena, Matías Campiani, David Neeleman, Andrés Conesa y Alex de Gunten.

No se nombró a un ganador del premio Rolim Amaro este año.
