As the longest standing committee of its nature, the CCMA has become a legendary trademark in the history of aviation in the region. This year the CCMA is celebrating its 107th meeting and ALTA has been facilitating this conference for more than 12 years. We are expecting more than 100 airlines and more than 900 delegates coming together and interacting during this year’s conference, to generate valuable business to support the growth of the industry. I am delighted to attend my first CCMA & MRO Conference. This will be a learning process as we continue working to improve the conference and the relationships among our partners and airlines. We are looking forward to a rich comprehensive agenda as we always strive to provide you a best-in-class conference and networking opportunities. Given that fuel costs represent more than 22 percent of operational costs for airlines, this year, under our recently created Fuel Committee, we are adding this relevant area of the industry to the conference. ALTA represents not only the airlines. We represent the entire industry. We advocate for a better, more efficient, safer and more sustainable industry for the wellbeing of our partners in private and public sectors, nations and the people we serve. Through our committed and professional team of experts, we will continue working together in partnership with all stakeholders on the clear objective of improving the industry and serving the people, businesses and communities within the region by creating jobs and generating social and economic benefits for all. As always, I am very thankful to our partners that help make this conference such a valuable tool for all participants. I would also like to take this opportunity to introduce you to ALTA’s 2018 CCMA & MRO Yearbook, which we have enhanced this year to include useful information about the industry in our region. Thank you to our members and industry partners for your support and contributions over the years. Your commitment to this organization helps us continually improve our activities and contribute to a stronger and more reliable air transport industry. We look forward to another year under my new leadership aiming our collaborative efforts to continue positively impacting the development of air transport in the region. I hope you have a productive conference! [email protected] .
