Press Release nr. 2 28th April 2017 AT RALLYLEGEND 2017 AN EPOCHAL EVENT: FIFTEEN RALLY WORLD CHAMPIONS, FROM 1977 TO TODAY, PRESENT IN SAN MARINO FOR THE "COLIN MC RAE TRIBUTE". Almost the entire World Rally Hall of Fame, from birth to today, gathers for the tribute to the great Scottish driver, ten years after his death Republic of San Marino. All together, at Rallylegend next October 21st and 22nd: Walter Rohrl, Ari Vatanen, Hannu Mikkola, Stig Blomqvist, Timo Salonen, Juha Kankkunen, Miki Biasion, Didier Auriol, Tommi Makinen, Marcus Gronholm, Petter Solberg, Sebastien Loeb and Sebastien Ogier, with Sandro Munari and Markku Alen, winners of the FIA Driver Cups 1977 and 1978, that later became the World Rally Drivers since 1979. Fifteen World Rally Champions, for a total of thirty-four world drivers titles - almost all the history of the World Championship series - will gather in the Republic of San Marino - for two days World Rally Capital - for the "Colin Mc Rae Tribute", Rallylegend's tribute to the memory of the great Scottish champion, ten years after his premature and tragic disappearance. For Colin Mc Rae, at Rallylegend there will also be Derek Ringer, the co-driver with whom the late Scottish driver won the World Championship title in 1995, and Nicky Grist, another important co-driver for him; while two other World Champion co-drivers, Hans Thorszelius and Robert Reid, will be present at San Marino to bring their memory of two champions who are no longer among us, such as Bjorn Waldegaard and Richard Burns. PRESSEMELDING Oslo 2. november 2016 BFGoodrich returnerer til Rally Dakar BFGoodrich, dekkprodusenten som skapte det første radialdekket for terrengkjøring i 1976, har bestemt seg for å returnere til Rally Dakar i 2017 som offisiell dekkleverandør. Når Rally Dakar går av stabelen i Asunción, Paraguay, i januar er det første gang siden 2012 at BFGoodrich sine dekk er tilbake på racerbilene i stor skala. Samtidig vil dekkprodusenten stille med et eget servicesenter, hvor de vil tilby deltakerne eksperthjelp 24 timer i døgnet. Media Information 2013 Dakar Rally – #07 The Atacama shows no mercy: Three-O-One defends third place at the “Dakar” Calama, 10 January 2013 Position defended on one of the most formidable stages: Giniel de Villiers and Dirk von Zitzewitz remain in third place after almost 3,000 of the 8,000 kilometres that form this year’s Dakar Rally. Driving a Toyota Hilux, they trailed stage winners Nasser Al-Attiyah and Lucas Cruz in a buggy by 17m 17s after one of the most challenging legs of the toughest desert rally in the world, which took the competitors through the Atacama Desert. The winners of the 2009 “Dakar” were struck by misfortune in the dunes: de Villiers and von Zitzewitz had no option but to slow down when they came across a rival car that had, unbeknown to them, got stuck behind a crest. They were then forced to spend valuable time using sand ladders, deflating the tyres and shovelling for all their worth in order to free themselves from the situation they suddenly found themselves in. Despite being seen as rank outsiders, “Ginny” and “Schnietz”, as the two friends know each other, now find themselves just 42m 31s behind odds-on favourites Stéphane Peterhansel and Jean-Paul Cottret in the X- raid Mini in the overall classification. This in itself is a success worthy of recognition after a third of the total “Dakar” distance. Friday sees the Dakar Rally cross the border to Argentina via the picturesque Paso de Jama, with its literally breath-taking plateaus at over 4,000 metres above sea level. -
