Press Release nr. 2 28th April 2017 AT RALLYLEGEND 2017 AN EPOCHAL EVENT: FIFTEEN RALLY WORLD CHAMPIONS, FROM 1977 TO TODAY, PRESENT IN SAN MARINO FOR THE "COLIN MC RAE TRIBUTE". Almost the entire World Rally Hall of Fame, from birth to today, gathers for the tribute to the great Scottish driver, ten years after his death Republic of San Marino. All together, at Rallylegend next October 21st and 22nd: Walter Rohrl, Ari Vatanen, Hannu Mikkola, Stig Blomqvist, Timo Salonen, Juha Kankkunen, Miki Biasion, Didier Auriol, Tommi Makinen, Marcus Gronholm, Petter Solberg, Sebastien Loeb and Sebastien Ogier, with Sandro Munari and Markku Alen, winners of the FIA Driver Cups 1977 and 1978, that later became the World Rally Drivers since 1979. Fifteen World Rally Champions, for a total of thirty-four world drivers titles - almost all the history of the World Championship series - will gather in the Republic of San Marino - for two days World Rally Capital - for the "Colin Mc Rae Tribute", Rallylegend's tribute to the memory of the great Scottish champion, ten years after his premature and tragic disappearance. For Colin Mc Rae, at Rallylegend there will also be Derek Ringer, the co-driver with whom the late Scottish driver won the World Championship title in 1995, and Nicky Grist, another important co-driver for him; while two other World Champion co-drivers, Hans Thorszelius and Robert Reid, will be present at San Marino to bring their memory of two champions who are no longer among us, such as Bjorn Waldegaard and Richard Burns. An epochal event, a "reunion" so far never seen, the dream of all fans: having so many legendary champions, all together, for two days. -

Dear Rally family, dear friends, Welcome to issue six of the FIA Rally Newsletter, which we are pleased to send out following last week’s online meeting of the FIA World Motor Sport Council on October 9, 2020. Inside are details of the new eighth and final round of this year’s FIA World Rally Championship, the planned calendar for the 2021 WRC, plus an update on some of the recent regulation changes. From a Regional Rally perspective, we are happy that the FIA Middle East Rally Championship title will be awarded in 2020 following a change to the points-scoring system. We are also humbled by the efforts of the Rally of Lebanon organisers to keep moving ahead with their event in November, despite the devastating explosion in Beirut in August and the suffering and disruption that it has caused. Continuing the Regional Rally theme, we are enthused by the progress of Rally3 with the first car, a Ford Fiesta Rally3 from M-Sport Poland, coming to life during a summer of test and development. An update on the work undertaken by the Rally Safety Task Force and how it helped with the successful running of three events in Croatia, San Marino and Portugal can be found in this edition. Everyone in the Rally Department is very proud that the Sporting Regulations for FIA Rally Star have been approved with momentum really building up following the publication of a detailed set of guidelines to help ASNs around the world organise the initial talent detection events. FIA Rally Star will help to uncover and nurture future world champions by encouraging mass participation in the sport at grassroots level. -

Modification of Art. 20.1.5 in the 2018 FIA WRC Sporting Regulations 20.1.5 On a road section that is a public road and at the start of a Special Stage, a competition car may only be driven on four freely rotating wheels and tyres. Any infringements will be reported to the Stewards who may impose a penalty up to disqualification. 2. Modification of Art. 62.1 in the 2018 FIA WRC Sporting Regulations 62.1 TYRE QUANTITIES FOR 2018 The quantities of new tyres for use at each Championship event shall be detailed in the rally supplementary regulations and be based on the following: - A maximum of 7 tyre changes is permitted on any one rally. - The maximum quantity of tyres allowed on each rally will be calculated as follows: "X" number of changes multiplied by 4 tyres. 4 tyres for WRC cars and 2 for the other cars are added in the overall quantity. - For the Monte Carlo rally, the "X" number of changes will be multiplied by 5 tyres. - All tyre quantities will be detailed in the supplementary regulations of each rally. - Tyres used during shakedown will not count towards the overall quantity. 2021 MEDIA GUIDE Arctic Rally Finland February 26 - 28, 2021 ROUND 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 Arctic Rally Finland February 26 - 28, 2021 HYUNDAI’S HELLO Given the freezing temperatures outside, I would like to extend a warm welcome to Arctic Rally Finland and for the first of what we hope will be two visits by the WRC and Hyundai Motorsport to the country in 2021. Before I underline the team’s hopes and expectations for this event, I wish to acknowledge all the hard work that’s gone into putting on this rally in such a short amount of time. The efforts of AKK Sports and all the volunteers, particularly in the context of COVID-19, has really impressed me so a big thank you to them. It’s fair to say we showed our limits on Rallye Monte-Carlo and found ourselves licking our wounds and trying to get ahead. Unfortunately, it didn’t work there and after making some changes to our approach we start the second round of the season hoping it will be much better than the first. Having wished a fond farewell to Carlos del Barrio after Monte as he prepared for the next chapter of his career, we are pleased to welcome back Craig and Paul for the start of their half-season campaign in a Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC. We know very well their ability and determination as they try to make a strong start to their season. As well as our regular World Rally Car drivers, we are giving a big chance to a really promising youngster, Oliver Solberg. -

LANCIA DELTA INTEGRALE High Fidelity Ein Blick zurück in die “Fiat-Epoche“ von Lancia und die Geschichte des Delta Integrale Text: Alexander Korab Bilder: Mathias Kniepeiss und Wolfgang Buchta Der Lancia Delta Integrale kam vor etwas mehr als 30 Jahren auf den Markt und ist somit ein frischgebackener Oldtimer. Der Name “Integrale“ ist heute zum Mythos ge- worden. In den 80er Jahren, als der Auflösungs- prozess der UdSSR begann, als Personal-Com- puter, Compact-Disk und Mobiltelefon die Welt eroberten, als man zu Hits von Depeche Mode, U2 oder Falco tanzte und die Berliner Mauer fiel, dominierte der Delta die Rallye-Szene wie kein anderes Fahrzeug davor und danach. Auf manchen Sonderprüfungen sind die feschen Allradler noch heute flott unterwegs, obwohl Vincenzo Lancia sie eigentlich schon ein paar Jährchen auf dem (1881-1937) Buckel haben. Um ihre Entstehungsgeschichte näher zu beleuchten, müssen wir doch ein wenig weiter ausholen. Für Fundamentalisten endet die Geschichte von Lancia in der letzten Oktoberwoche des Jahres 1969, als Fiat-Boss Gianni Agnelli die Über- nahme des 1906 gegründeten Traditionsunter- nehmens bekannt gab. Sicherlich, die berühmte “Marke der Ingenieure“ war damit so gut wie tot. Lancia wurde in den mächtigen Fiat-Kon- zern eingegliedert und Neuentwicklungen wie- sen von da an Gemeinsamkeiten mit Fiat-Mo- Gianni Lancia dellen auf. Wer jenes Kapitel der Lancia-Saga (1924-2014) etwas großzügiger betrachtete, durfte sich in den 70er, 80er und 90er Jahren aber über sensa- tionelle Siegesserien im Rallye-Sport freuen. Die Marke der Ingenieure 1937, als Fir- mengründer Vincenzo Lancia starb, galt das Unternehmen mit Sitz in Turin als Nobelmar- ke, welche besonders zuverlässige Automobile mit außergewöhnlicher Technik produzierte.
