Well balanced with a fresh finish – perfect with goat, bloomy rinds & Beaufort or young Comte. PROSECCO FRIZZANTE COLLI TREVIGIANI Cantina Bernardi, Refrontolo, Treviso £12.35 Grape: 100% Glera Using organic but uncertified methods this is an easy drinking, lightly sparkling style of Prosecco The aroma of blanched almonds, white flowers and pear reveals a soft & clean taste with apple & quince fruit ending in a naturally off-dry finish. ROSE HALF BOTTLE CÔTES DE PROVENCE Rosé 2019, Miraval, £16.90 Grapes: 40% Grenache/Garnacha , 30% Cinsault, 20% Rolle, 10% Syrah/Shiraz A quintessential Provence Rosé from the Provence village of Correns, the first 100% organic village in France. Château Miraval has 50 hectares of grapes grown on the estate. The majority of the fruit for this wine comes from the Château's three best parcels - Muriers, Longue and Romarin. The remainder is sourced from within the Correns region, just north of Brignoles in the heart of Provence. Delicate aromas of fresh redcurrants, lemons and spring flowers. With a refreshing crisp acidity and a beautiful pale, petal-pink colour. WHITE HALF BOTTLES CHATEAU DES ANTONINS BLANC Pondaurat, SE Bordeaux £9.60 80% Sauvignon Blanc , 20% Semillon The family Roquefeuil use sustainable farming methods and with their son Antoine as head of winemaking his time spent in New Zealand has given this wine a real sparkle. The wine has bright aromas of fresh grapefruit, linden & white peach with spirited acidity. The expressive layered flavours display a lovely richness from the Semillon culminating in a long refreshing finish. A perfect wine for fish and chicken and also lighter cheeses including fresh and matured goat cheese. MUSCADET DOMAINE DU VERGER 2017 Domaine Luneau Papin. Le Landreau, Nantais £12.85 Grape : 100% Melon de Bourgogne Organic/Vegan This is an 8th generation family business where both families of Pierre Luneau & his wife Pierre-Marie Papin have been prominent wine makers in the region. There is a gentle pressing and 10 months on the lees giving the resulting wine in the glass a lovely light yellow with green reflections together with a fine nose of floral & mineral notes. A good weight in the mouth from the time on the lees gives richness; a perfect wine for seafood & Asian dishes as well as goat cheese, and lighter hard as well as blue cheese. SOAVE CLASSICO, Pieropan, Soave, Verona £13.15 Grapes: 85% Garganega 15% Trebbiano di Soave Weather patterns of rain, mist & heat could affect vines but the grapes of this wine can withstand the challenges. The Pie- ropan family produce exceptional wines that are fresh & expressive with classic aromas of white flowers, almond blossom, marzipan & a touch of citrus. Rounded, ripe fruit is perfectly balanced by a fresh, clean acidity. The taste is long & fragrant right to the end with that familiar almond pastry finish. Perfect for shellfish, asparagus & light tangy goat cheeses as well as semi-hard smooth textured cheeses. CHABLIS 2019, Domaine Gerard Tremblay, Poinchy, Chablis £16.75 Grape 100% Chardonnay In the classic style with a generous display of fruit and aromas to give instant enjoyment. Green apple, pear and tarragon are present, with hints of honeysuckle. Clean and bright with vivid minerality and sparkling acidity. POUILLY-FUME, Domaine de Bel Air, Pouilly-sur-Loire, France £16.75 Grape : 100% Sauvignon Blanc This wine is pale lemon yellow in colour. The nose is intense and complex with aromas of white peach, pear, mango and a touch of minerality. On the palate, this wine is supple and delicate, with well-balanced sweetness and a long, intense finish. Domaine de Bel Air has 14 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc vineyards on different soils: Kimmeridgian limestone, clay-chalk (argilo-calcaire) and sandy chalk. The finished wine is a blend of parcels planted on three different soil types, giving a wine with added complexity and depth. The vineyards are south-facing and benefit from a favourable microclimate thanks to their very close proximity to the River Loire, which moderates the cold temperatures of the region, encouraging greater ripeness and flavour development. SANCERRE DOMAINE SAUTEREAU Crezancy, SW of Sancerre, Loire £17.15 Grape: 100% Sauvignon Blanc The weather patterns throughout the year produced an outstanding vintage for all Sancerre producers. The wine has a pale yellow hue with expressive, elegant aromas of citrus, gooseberry complemented by floral & limestone notes giving a rounded taste. The finish is crisp with a lovely salty edge. Perfect for goat cheeses & crumbly fresh cheeses. MENETOU-SALON 2019, Domaine Jean Teiller, Menetou-Salon, Loire £17.25 Grape: 100% Sauvignon Blanc The atypically ripe, juicy style of Loire Sauvignon Blanc is almost certainly influenced by the year that Patricia Teiller and husband Olivier Luneau (who now run the estate) spent winemaking in New Zealand. Certified organic. This highly-regarded white Menetou-Salon wine has a bountiful tropical fruit bouquet and sensuous, silk-textured palate with appealing citrus notes and an elegant, dry finish. Their philosophy is simple "Cautious modernization with the utmost respect for tradition." CHABLIS, DOMAINE COLETTE GROS, Chablis, Burgundy £18.50 Grapes: 100% ChardonnayC The Gautheron family has been cultivating vines in Chablis for five generations. This estate is situated at the northern most part of the region close to the Champagne area and makes classic Chablis with a clear light gold colour, with hints of emerald green. In the mouth the wine is dry as apple-parings and steely with perhaps just a delicate hint of violets and mint. Well balanced with lively acidity, & notes of hazelnut & creamy biscuits. Lip smacking terroir driven wine with an acidity & structure to be enjoyed with seafood, rustic andouillette, snails, a classy fish with sorrel sauce or indeed Comte. POUILLY FUME DOMAINE DES BERTHIERS Jean-Claude Dagueneau, Saint-Andelain, Pouilly Fume, Loire £22.25 Grape : 100% Sauvignon Blanc Great hillside location for the vines overlooking the River Loire, facing south-west & the vineyards of Sancerre.
