NYETIMBER CLASSIC CUVEE MULTI VINTAGE West Sussex, UK £33.00 Grapes: 60% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir, 10% Meunier The flagship of English Sparkling wine, Nyetimber is one of the few English wineries with enough reserve wine to now pro- duce a consistent multi-vintage house blend on par with the Grand Marques and is aged more than three years on lees. Elegant and delicate with hints of honey & apple. Lovely pale gold with gentle, fine bubbles. Toasty, spicy and complex aromas showing wonderful development after extended ageing in Nyetimber's cellar. The palate supports these complex aromas with honey, almond, pastry and baked apple flavours. Very fine and elegant with a great combination of intensity, delicacy and length.

CÔTES DE PROVENCE Rosé 2019, Miraval, £16.90 Grapes: 40% Grenache/Garnacha , 30% Cinsault, 20% Rolle, 10% Syrah/Shiraz A quintessential Provence Rosé from the Provence village of Correns, the first 100% organic village in France. Château Miraval has 50 hectares of grapes grown on the estate. The majority of the fruit for this wine comes from the Château's three best parcels - Muriers, Longue and Romarin. The remainder is sourced from within the Correns region, just north of Brignoles in the heart of Provence. Delicate aromas of fresh redcurrants, lemons and spring flowers. With a refreshing crisp acidity and a beautiful pale, petal-pink colour.

CHATEAU DES ANTONINS BLANC Pondaurat, SE Bordeaux £9.60 80% Sauvignon Blanc , 20% Semillon The family Roquefeuil use sustainable farming methods and with their son Antoine as head of his time spent in New Zealand has given this wine a real sparkle. The wine has bright aromas of fresh grapefruit, linden & white peach with spirited acidity. The expressive layered flavours display a lovely richness from the Semillon culminating in a long refreshing finish. A perfect wine for fish and chicken and also lighter cheeses including fresh and matured goat cheese.

MUSCADET DOMAINE DU VERGER 2017 Domaine Luneau Papin. Le Landreau, Nantais £12.85 Grape : 100% Melon de Bourgogne Organic/Vegan This is an 8th generation family business where both families of Pierre Luneau & his wife Pierre-Marie Papin have been prominent wine makers in the region. There is a gentle pressing and 10 months on the lees giving the resulting wine in the glass a lovely light yellow with green reflections together with a fine nose of floral & mineral notes. A good weight in the mouth from the time on the lees gives richness; a perfect wine for seafood & Asian dishes as well as goat cheese, and lighter hard as well as blue cheese.

SOAVE CLASSICO, Pieropan, Soave, Verona £13.15 Grapes: 85% Garganega 15% Trebbiano di Soave Weather patterns of rain, mist & heat could affect vines but the grapes of this wine can withstand the challenges. The Pie- ropan family produce exceptional wines that are fresh & expressive with classic aromas of white flowers, almond blossom, marzipan & a touch of citrus. Rounded, ripe fruit is perfectly balanced by a fresh, clean acidity. The taste is long & fragrant right to the end with that familiar almond pastry finish. Perfect for shellfish, asparagus & light tangy goat cheeses as well as semi-hard smooth textured cheeses.

CHABLIS 2019, Domaine Gerard Tremblay, Poinchy, Chablis £16.75 Grape 100% Chardonnay In the classic style with a generous display of fruit and aromas to give instant enjoyment. Green apple, pear and tarragon are present, with hints of honeysuckle. Clean and bright with vivid minerality and sparkling acidity. Perfect with Scallops, shellfish and creamy cheeses, aswell as Beaufort and Comte on the younger side.

POUILLY-FUME, Domaine de Bel Air, Pouilly-sur-Loire, France £16.75 Grape : 100% Sauvignon Blanc This wine is pale lemon yellow in colour. The nose is intense and complex with aromas of white peach, pear, mango and a touch of minerality. On the palate, this wine is supple and delicate, with well-balanced sweetness and a long, intense finish. Domaine de Bel Air has 14 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc vineyards on different soils: Kimmeridgian limestone, clay-chalk (argilo-calcaire) and sandy chalk. The finished wine is a blend of parcels planted on three different soil types, giving a wine with added complexity and depth. The vineyards are south-facing and benefit from a favourable microclimate thanks to their very close proximity to the River Loire, which moderates the cold temperatures of the region, encouraging greater ripeness and flavour development.

SANCERRE DOMAINE SAUTEREAU Crezancy, SW of Sancerre, Loire £17.15 Grape: 100% Sauvignon Blanc The weather patterns throughout the year produced an outstanding vintage for all Sancerre producers. The wine has a pale yellow hue with expressive, elegant aromas of citrus, gooseberry complemented by floral & limestone notes giving a rounded taste. The finish is crisp with a lovely salty edge. Perfect for goat cheeses & crumbly fresh cheeses.

MENETOU-SALON 2019, Domaine Jean Teiller, Menetou-Salon, Loire £17.25 Grape: 100% Sauvignon Blanc The atypically ripe, juicy style of Loire Sauvignon Blanc is almost certainly influenced by the year that Patricia Teiller and husband Olivier Luneau (who now run the estate) spent winemaking in New Zealand. Certified organic. This highly-regarded white Menetou-Salon wine has a bountiful tropical fruit bouquet and sensuous, silk-textured palate with appealing citrus notes and an elegant, dry finish. Their philosophy is simple "Cautious modernization with the utmost respect for tradition."

CHABLIS, DOMAINE COLETTE GROS, Chablis, Burgundy £18.50 Grapes: 100% ChardonnayC The Gautheron family has been cultivating vines in Chablis for five generations. This estate is situated at the northern most part of the region close to the Champagne area and makes classic Chablis with a clear light gold colour, with hints of emerald green. In the mouth the wine is dry as apple-parings and steely with perhaps just a delicate hint of violets and mint. Well balanced with lively acidity, & notes of hazelnut & creamy biscuits. Lip smacking terroir driven wine with an acidity & structure to be enjoyed with seafood, rustic andouillette, snails, a classy fish with sorrel sauce or indeed Comte.

POUILLY FUME DOMAINE DES BERTHIERS Jean-Claude Dagueneau, Saint-Andelain, Pouilly Fume, Loire £22.25 Grape : 100% Sauvignon Blanc Great hillside location for the vines overlooking the River Loire, facing south-west & the vineyards of Sancerre. The style of this wine is an austere flinty aroma opening out to a delicious full tangy grapefruit & red apple finish. The pressed juice is left to mature on the ‘lees’ (the bits of the vine in the bottom of the barrel) before refining & bottling. This gives the wine character & mineral edge. Perfect for shellfish but also hard & soft cheese.

PULIGNY-MONTRACHET, Domaine Sylvain Bzikot, Cote de Beaune, Burgundy, France £43.45 Pre-Order only Grape:Chardonnay. A wonderfully fresh, clean and harmonius Côte de Beaune white Burgundy. Sylvain Bzikot is traditional and respectful in his approach to winemaking and the effect really shows in the end product. The grapes for this, his village level wine, are hand harvested and half of it is matured in 1yr old barrels to add some rich- ness and density, with the other half matured in stainless steel to preserve the freshness and delicacy of flavour of the fruits. It's full of quite upfront nectarine, peach, honeysuckle and fresh citrus fruit flavours with buttery and hazelnut notes coming through mid-palate. Enjoy with farmouse St Nectaire or Langres.

CHATEAU DES ANTONINS ROUGE £9.60 Grapes: 65% Merlot, 33% Cabernet Sauvignon 3% Cabernet Franc The family Roquefeuil use sustainable farming methods and with their son Antoine as head of winemaking his time spent in New Zealand has given the wines a very fruity drinkable character. Perfect weather patterns allowed the vines to produce a good vintage and in the glass there is a ruby-red colour with an inviting bouquet of red plum, blackcurrant and hints of spice. The smooth tannins give structure to the layers of bright red fruit making this a perfect wine for cheese.

BEAUJOLAIS-VILLAGE 2017. DOMAINE DE LA PLAIGNE Gilles & Cecile Rouxl, Regnie-Durette, Burgundy £13.50 Grape: 100% Gamay BIODYNAMIC This is a 5th generation family run vineyard producing a lovely scented Village wine. A beautiful crimson colour in the glass with blackberry and cherry fruit aromas & flavours. Clean & crisp on the palate with excellent acidity for a refreshing finish. A perfect wine for cheese especially Camembert, Brie, Chaource and lighter hard cheeses like Tomme de Savoie.

COTES DU RHONE 2016, Domaine de Chapoton Annika & Serge Remusan. Chapoton, Bessenay £13.55 Grape: Blend Grenahe, Syrah, Mourvedre & Carignan BIODYNAMIC The first sensation when drinking this wine is its little herbal salty hit in the background. This makes it eminently suited to food & especially cheese. Southern Rhone vines benefit from exceptional amounts of sunshine coupled with warm Mistral winds culminating in good harvests. A lovely bright red in the glass with aromas of violets & soft black fruits dominate silky velvet ripe tannins to structure the body of the wine & give its juicy style. Perfect for ewe’s milk cheese, soft cheeses & blue cheese.

FLEURIE 2018 Dominique Morel, Beaujolais & Fleurie, Burgundy £14.50 Grape : 100% Gamay A great harvest year giving this wine a very drinkable vintage. There Is a lovely perfume in the glass and the style of vinifica- tion allows the fragrant violet & red fruit aromas to burst into bright fruit and supple tannins in the mouth. An elegant wine with a long, persistent finish & perfect for a cheeseboard with different styles from soft to hard to blue.

CAPEZZANA, BARCO REALE DI CARMIGNANO 2017. The Capezzana Estate, Conini Bonacossi Family, Florence £15.15 Grape: Sangiovese as the main grape & Cab Sauvignon with a limited quantity of Canaiolo A Chianti to lift you spiritually back to Tuscany. Even though 2017 was a challenging year, the quality of the wine exudes elegance, even as the younger style. Beautiful purple hue with ruby red highlights The aromas of cherry & plum are com- plemented by a touch of oak. The flavours are ripe, rounded & balanced with tannins bringing out spiced berries on the long, fine finish. Perfect for a classic Tuscan Pecorino & salume.

CHATEAU LA CLAYMORE 2015, Francois & Maria-Dolores Linard. Lussac, St Emilion, Bordeaux £17.50 Grape: 75% Merlot, 10% Cab.Franc 15% Malbec Glorious purple colour in the glass with aromas of ripe red fruits slightly toasted by the time spent in oak barrels. Great body with balance of fruit to fine silky tannins that give a lingering length to the taste. Perfect with hearty stews & roast beef as well as the cheese board selection particularly aged hard cheese.

CA’ DEI FRATI, ‘RONCHEDONE’, Igino Dal Cero, Lugana, Lombardy £19.80 Grape: 45% , 45% Sangioves 10% Cab Sauvignon Situated on the southern shores of Lake Garda, near the town of Sirmone, benefiting from the lovely microclimate with soft breezes from the lake. The 2017 vintage produced healthy, good quality grapes. The wine is aged in small barriques for 14 month and followed by a further 10 months in bottle prior to release. This is a deep, dark wine showing a Vibrant, fruit-for- ward bouquet with aromas of ripe blueberries, with a lovely fruity richness, balsam and herbal notes to give a savoury, well balanced wine with rounded tannins and a freshness on the finish.

BANDOL ROUGE, Domaines Bunan, Mas de la Rouviere, Provence £23.95 Grapes: Grenache Noir, Mourvedre, Syrah The Mas de la Rouvière rouge is made from a base of Mourvèdre along with lesser volumes of Grenache Noir and Syrah. It ages well for a decade or more and makes a fine match with ewe’s milk cheese both hard and soft, blues, washed rinds such as Livarot, herb coated cheese such as Fleur de Maquis, St Marcellin & goat cheese such as Banon and Pelardon. Since the 2011 vintage the Bandol red has been certified as organic - as is their whole range of white and rosé, producing characterful wines with a strong sense of terroir, that are delicious, aromatic. This showcases the red with dense, dark, spicy Mourvédre at the heart which is approachable from release. The late harvest, together with maceration for 15 days I stainless steel vats progresses to maturing the wine in old oak ‘tuns’ contributes to the concentration and depth of flavours.

CHATEAUNEUF DU PAPE , Domaine du Père Caboche Rouge 2019 Chateauneuf du Pape, Rhone £26.30 Grapes : Grenache Noir, Mourvedre, other local varietals, Syrah The classic cuvée from this estate, the 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape is Grenache dominated yet includes a splash of Syrah and Mourvèdre which is raised in a mix of foudre, stainless steel, and concrete tanks. A beautiful wine and has a fresh, elegant, already complex style that has lots of red, black, and blue fruits, notes of violets and orange blossom, medium- bodied richness, and silky tannins. The wine takes its grapes from mature rootstock on the Le Crau plateau. It is blended from 70% Grenache Noir, 10% each of Mourvèdre and Syrah and a diverse 'field blend' of lesser varieties. It is always a hedonistic and sensual offering. It has a bright red fruit bouquet and juicy, hedgerow berry palate supported by silky, soft tannins.

BLANC DU FRONTONNAIS, Vin de Pays de Gascogne ARAMIS £16.95 Domaine Le Roc, Fronton SW France 50% Colombard, 50% Sauvignon Blanc LA FROMAGERIE own label The vineyards of Jean-Luc & Frederic Ribes are situated north of Toulouse. Light & zesty Produced from the vines of the next property as their own land is used almost entirely for red wine production. The grape varieties give a really intense aroma of grapefruit, orange & exotic fruits while the taste is fresh with an aromatic long finish.

CHIGNIN VERS LES ALPES £18.50 Jean-Francois Quenard, Le Villard, Chignin, Savoie Grape : Jacquere (Chignin grape) Perfect for fondue and Raclette, as well as young fruity cheeses such as Mont d’Or, Beaufort Tomme de Savoie & Reblochon. A clean refreshing lightness with floral vibrant taste. There is a roundness to the style, which brings a minerality and nutty finish.

TONNERRE Chevalier d’Eon, Blanc de Bourgogne £20.90 Domaine Dampt, Collan, Yonne, Côte d’Or, Burgundy 100% Chardonnay Grape Pale gold with an instant fresh grassy sweetness. Light, floral with vanilla overtones & familiar silky smooth almost nectar finish. The overall taste is fresh and persistent & should be drunk young. The Tonnerois soil is excellent for vines combining good exposure to light & sun with appropriate sloped hillsides & chalky stoney structure enabling the vines to scramble deep into the soil. Just outside the district, the Dampt family have owned this estate for generations, & multi-award winning vignerons.

ANTICA ENOTRIA SANGIOVESE ROSSO £15.75 2015, North Puglia. 100%Sangiovese This grape style is usually associated with Tuscan wines, but in this part of Puglia the grapes ripen at the end of September, & harvested manually before crushing & de-stemming within an hour of picking. Maceration on the skins for 8 days at 26C & aged 10 mths in the bottle prior to sale. The wine has a deep ruby robe developing garnet undertones with ageing. An intense bouquet of Maraschino, plums & warm spices with dry edge and tannins that are balanced along with the full body and structure. Good with hard Pecorino style cheeses

VALPOLICELLA CLASSICO SUPERIORE “FIGARI” £19.75 Az Ag Villa Spinosa, Negrar in Valpolicella, Verona Grapes: Corvina Veronese & Corvinone with a tiny permitted selection The vineyard is situated on the Figari area of the Estate, a natural terrace above the Valpolicella Classica area located on the side of the Colle Masua that slopes down towards Marano Valpolicella. Being a Superiore it is elegant, fragrant; a little austere but very agreeable. Notes of preserved fruit & vanilla and spice.

BARBERA d’ALBA SUPERIORE £21.85 CANOVA RESSIA, Neive, Piedmont Grape: 100% Barbera Harvest in first week of October – vines face south. Soft crushing & traditional alcoholic fermentation in steel with malolactic fermentation in small wooden barrels for 18mths transferring to s/s for 3 months before bottling. A complex rich bouquet with blackberry, coriander & rose then spice. Classic Barbera d’Alba structure with good acidity and well structured tannins. Perfect for red meat & game dishes and aged hard & blue cheeses.
