A MATTER OF BALANCE Managing Concerns About Falls Fall Prevention Class / 8 sessions May 7-June 4 Have you turned down a chance to go out with family or friends because you were concerned about falling? Have you down on a favorite activity because you might fall? If so, A Matter of Balance: Managing Concerns about Falls is a program for you. This class, offered by Aging & Long Term Care of Eastern Washington, will be at the Southside Community Center. The eight session class series, on Monday and Thursday from 9:30 to 11:30 am, will begin May 7 and conclude June 4. There will be no class on Memorial Day (May 28). Each session begins at . There is no cost. A workbook is provided and refreshments A Matter of Balance is designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase activity levels among older adults. Participants learn to set realistic goals to increase activity, and change their environment to reduce fall risk factors, and learn simple exercises to increase strength and balance. Registration forms are available at the Southside Center front desk. Completed registration forms need to be returned to the Southside Center front desk by Friday, April 27. Corbin Art Center Needs Your Help For Summer Arts Camp Corbin Arts Center needs a variety of recyclable items for their Summer Arts Camps — and they need LOTS of them. They appreciate receiving the following items: toilet paper tubes, paper towel and gift wrap tubes, yogurt containers with lids, small cottage cheese containers, oatmeal cardboard containers, brown paper grocery sacks with handles, egg cartons (no Styrofoam please), Kleenex and cereal boxes, and pens and pencils.
