High King of heaven, my treasure thou art.

Be thou my wisdom, and thou my true word; High King of heaven, my victory won, I ever with thee and thou with me, Lord; may I reach heaven's joys, O bright heav'n's Sun! thou my great Father, I thy true son; Heart of my own heart, whatever befall, thou in me dwelling, and I with thee one. still be my vision, O Ruler of all

Lectio Divina: (Imaginatively and contemplatively entering the ongoing story of God’s extravagant love for the world)

Lamentations 3:19-24 (MSG) I’ll never forget the trouble, the utter lostness, God’s loyal love couldn’t have run out, the taste of ashes, the poison I’ve swallowed. his merciful love couldn’t have dried up. I remember it all—oh, how well I remember— They’re created new every morning. the feeling of hitting the bottom. How great your faithfulness! But there’s one other thing I remember, I’m sticking with God (I say it over and over). and remembering, I keep a grip on hope: He’s all I’ve got left.

Lectio Read the text twice slowly and deliberately to fully focus and “chew on” the passage at hand.

Meditatio Read the text a third time. During this reading, notice what specific portion of the text you are being drawn to. This could be a word, phrase, or even a question you have about the text.

Oratio Read the text a fourth time. During this reading, ask the Holy Spirit “Why are you drawing me to this word, phrase, or question?” After the fourth reading, enter into a back and forth conversation with the Holy Spirit (written, internally, or out loud) about what She is stirring within you.

Contemplatio Read the text a fifth and final time. During this reading and in the silence afterward, allow your whole self (mind, body, soul, spirit) to rest in God. A helpful way to do this is to simply say internally or out loud “Spirit of God, thank you for speaking to me.”

Reckless Love Verse 1 Verse 2 Before I spoke a word When I was Your foe You were singing over me Still Your love fought for me You have been so, so good to me You have been so, so good to me Before I took a breath When I felt no worth You breathed Your life in me You paid it all for me You have been so, so kind to me You have been so, so kind to me

Chorus Bridge O the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of There’s no shadow You won’t light up God Mountain You won’t climb up O it chases me down, fights ‘til I’m found, leaves Coming after me the ninety-nine There’s no wall You won’t kick down I couldn’t earn it, You say I’m worth it, so You give Lie You won’t tear down Yourself away Coming after me O the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God

Bonus Songs (If we have time) Highlands (Song of Ascent) Verse 1 O how high would I climb mountains Verse 3 If the mountains were where You hide O how far beneath Your glory O how far I’d scale the valleys Does Your kindness extend the path If You graced the other side From where Your feet rest on the sunrise To where you sweep the sinner’s past Verse 2 O how long have I chased rivers Verse 4 From lowly seas to where they rise And o how fast would You come running Against the rush of grace descending If just to shadow me through the night From the source of its supply Trace my steps through all my failure And walk me out the other side Pre-Chorus 1 ‘Cause in the highlands and the heartache Pre-Chorus 2 You’re neither more or less inclined For who could dare ascend that mountain, I would search and stop at nothing That valleyed hill called Calvary? You’re just not that hard to find But for the one I call Good Shepherd Who like a lamb was slain for me Chorus I will praise You on the mountain Bridge I will praise You when the mountain’s in my way Whatever I walk through You’re the summit where my feet are Wherever I am In the highlands and the heartache all the same Your name can move mountains No less God within the shadows From wherever I stand No less faithful when the night leads me astray And if ever I walk through You’re the heaven where my heart is The valley of death In the highlands and the heartache all the same I’ll sing through the shadows my song of ascent

Pre-Chorus 3 From the gravest of all valleys Come the pastures we call grace A mighty river flowing upward From a deep but empty grave
