India’s sheer population of 1.4 billion is overwhelming. Our strategic global partner Word of Life Guatemala is expanding its ministry with new opportunities for ministry in several orphanages. Join us Sunday May 20 during our worship services for an exciting Missions Sunday with full reports and incredible stories of Gods gracious work. ________________ _______________________________________ EXCITEMENT WITH REVISED BUILDING PROPOSAL… COMING SOON! WORSHIP RESOURCE ~ WEEK 6 Sermon Title ~ IN Jesus’ Attitude Scripture ~ Philippians 2:3-8 (Jesus models humility) Desired Outcome ~ Participants will seek to build relationships following Jesus’ model of humility and service. Reflection Question ~What challenges you about Jesus’ model of humble service? Worship Promo for Week 6 Our attitude can have a powerful impact – either positively or negatively. We strive to have the same attitude of humility and self-less service as Christ. How is adopting the mindset of Christ changing who we include? How is it inspiring us to live differently? How is it changing who we invite? Where do we need an attitude adjustment? Sermon Building Key Points • Psalm 133 describes “how good and pleasant it is when ‘kindred’ live together in unity.” In the Psalmist’s time, kindred meant those who could trace their ancestry to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Through Christ we have a broader view and an understanding that we are all brothers and sisters in Christ. • In Philippians 2 we hear the apostle Paul urging the Philippians to place the welfare of others before their own and to follow Jesus as the ultimate example of that. • If we seek to have the mindset and attitude of Christ we seek to relate to others through humble service and humility. • In A Year With God, Richard Foster says, “Service is less a task or series of tasks than an attitude of obedience to God.” How does our attitude shift when we consider every task as an opportunity to serve God and others? • How does adopting the mindset of Christ change who we include in conversation, around the table at a meal, in worship, in a group? • John Maxwell says, “Change your thinking and you change your beliefs.

  • Interview with Special Guest Tori Kelly Miles Mcpherson / October 15
Interview with special guest Tori Kelly Miles McPherson / October 15, 2017 Ice Breaker: Pastor Miles said that although his favorite vacation spot on Earth (Hawaii) is wonderful, it is completely inferior compared to what awaits us in heaven. What is your favorite vacation spot and what makes it so good? Encouragement: Today, Pastor Miles interviewed Grammy nominated singer-songwriter Tori Kelly. As a young teenager, her recording contract was dissolved. After singing on the American Idol show, Simon said her voice was "annoying". Tori thought she was a failure, but God had other plans. Pastor Miles asked for a show of hands for the question: Have you ever felt like you were a failure? * Did you hear a lie from the enemy in your head after a failure? * When did you realize it was a lie? * Did the lie have an effect on your relationship with God? * How did you get the relationship back? Pastor Miles described life as a roller coaster - lots of ups and downs. His encouragement was this: If God called you for something, man can not destroy it. The miracle is coming if you surrender to Him. Break into groups of 2. Pastor Miles asked see Tori's engagement ring - a diamond does not shine by itself; it needs light so it can reflects the light to look beautiful. Tori told us her fiancée points her to Christ. We were reminded to use the gifts God has given us to glorify God. Share with each other: * Is there someone in your life who points you to Jesus? * Share what your daily prayer life is like.
