Sunday Morning Worship Lyrics 03:05:2020 Song one ‘Yet not I but through Christ in me’ - by City Alight What gift of grace is Jesus my redeemer There is no more for heaven now to give He is my joy, my righteousness, and freedom My steadfast love, my deep and boundless peace To this I hold, my hope is only Jesus For my life is wholly bound to His Oh how strange and divine, I can sing: all is mine Yet not I, but through Christ in me The night is dark but I am not forsaken For by my side, the Saviour He will stay I labour on in weakness and rejoicing For in my need, His power is displayed To this I hold, my Shepherd will defend me Through the deepest valley He will lead Oh the night has been won, and I shall overcome Yet not I, but through Christ in me No fate I dread, I know I am forgiven The future sure, the price it has been paid For Jesus bled and suffered for my pardon And He was raised to overthrow the grave To this I hold, my sin has been defeated Jesus now and ever is my plea Oh the chains are released, I can sing: I am free Yet not I, but through Christ in me With every breath I long to follow Jesus For He has said that He will bring me home And day by day I know He will renew me Until I stand with joy before the throne To this I hold, my hope is only Jesus All the glory evermore to Him When the race is complete, still my lips shall repeat Yet not I, but through Christ in me To this I hold, my hope is only Jesus All the glory evermore to Him When the race is complete, still my lips shall repeat Yet not I, but through Christ in me Yet not I, but through Christ in me http://www.cityalight.com/yet-not-i-but-through-christ-in-me/ CCL205842 Song two ‘Oceans’ Hillsong UNITED With ‘You make me brave’ (bridge only) - Amanda Cook and Bethel Music Verse 1 You call me out upon the waters The great unknown where feet may fail And there I find You in the mystery In oceans deep My faith will stand Chorus And I will call upon Your name And keep my eyes above the waves When oceans rise, my soul will rest in Your embrace For I am Yours and You are mine Verse 2 Your grace abounds in deepest waters Your sovereign hand Will be my guide Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me You've never failed and You won't start now Chorus Bridge 1 Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders Let me walk upon the waters Wherever You would call me Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander And my faith will be made stronger Bridge 2 'Cause you make me brave You make me brave You call me out beyond the shore into the waves You make me brave You make me brave No fear can hinder now the love that made a way Chorus Source: LyricFind Songwriters: Joel Houston / Matt Crocker / Salomon Lighthelm Oceans (Where Feet May Fail) lyrics © Capitol Christian Music Group Source: LyricFind Songwriters: Amanda Cook You Make Me Brave lyrics © Bethel Music Publishing CCL205842 Song three ‘I raise a hallelujah’- by Bethel Music Verse 1 I raise a hallelujah, in the presence of my enemies I raise a hallelujah, louder than the unbelief I raise a hallelujah, my weapon is a melody I raise a hallelujah, Heaven comes to fight for me Chorus I’m gonna sing, in the middle of the storm Louder and louder, you’re gonna hear my praises roar Up from the ashes, hope will arise Death is defeated, the King is alive Verse 2 I raise a hallelujah, with everything inside of me I raise a hallelujah, I will watch the darkness flee I raise a hallelujah, in the middle of the mystery I raise a hallelujah, fear you lost your hold on me Chorus Bridge Sing a little louder (repeat x4) Sing a little louder In the presence of my enemies Sing a little louder Louder than the unbelief Sing a little louder My weapon is a melody Sing a little louder Heaven comes to fight for me Chorus Tag I raise a hallelujah https://bethelmusic.com/chords-and-lyrics/raise-a-hallelujah/ CCL205842 Hello everyone! I have felt very strongly led by this morning’s message to that concept of ‘reckless love’ described in Cory Asbury’s song of the same name. To summarise I am so thankful that our God looks beyond our history, our failings and all our insecurities and says we are worthy of His love. Once again I am struck that we are not forgotten and God goes with us in our lows and in our highs. I have chosen the the songs above because each one of them represents how even while we are struggling with all kinds of things in these uncertain times that we still have a God we can call upon to lift us up and guide us through it all. God will give us strength and courage and as our response we must give Him the attention, the glory and the place he deserves. I believe that our new way of engaging in worship has a huge role to play in reaching those who have fallen off the radar and maybe have no connection with church at all. We are moving into a time where our faith and worship is moving by default into our daily interactions and that is so exciting! As kingdom builders our job is really kicking into action and I’m imagining the possibilities of the future if we all accept that call into the ‘uncomfortable’ and the ‘new’. Search yourself with the help of God and discover the gifts he has given you (for some you isn’t be rediscovering these and that’s okay!) and pray for that bravery and motivation to carry Him with you this week to the cashiers, dog walkers and neighbours that you pass by. Again lets not limit the power of God to use little moments. Praise Music has always been a big part of my life. As a child, I loved to sing. When I was 12, I was so excited to receive a stereo for my birthday. At 16, I discovered the joy of driving my car and listening to music that matched my mood. As an adult, I have learned to love all types of music: hymns, contemporary praise, show tunes, and top 40, to name a few. Music frequently is playing in the background at my house and in my offce. I think my love of music is connected to how it speaks to us. It can help us express thoughts and emotions when words do not seem to work. It can make us laugh and energize us, and it can remind us of important truths about our relationship with Jesus Christ. Many songs reinforce the Good News we encounter in scripture. They sometimes spark within us a new understanding of our identity in Christ. Music connects to people of all ages and brings us together. These things inspired us to create devotions centered around song and scripture. Over the next few weeks, we will listen to contemporary Christian music, hymns, and songs from Roswell Kids. We will explore their connections to scripture and dive deeper into how they can help shape and form our faith. We hope these devotions will help your family create space in your days to focus on God, to refect on how God is speaking, and to engage in activities that help reinforce the messages. Please know you are in our prayers and that we miss your families.

WORSHIP RESOURCE ~ WEEK 6 Sermon Title ~ IN Jesus’ Attitude Scripture ~ Philippians 2:3-8 (Jesus models humility) Desired Outcome ~ Participants will seek to build relationships following Jesus’ model of humility and service. Reflection Question ~What challenges you about Jesus’ model of humble service? Worship Promo for Week 6 Our attitude can have a powerful impact – either positively or negatively. We strive to have the same attitude of humility and self-less service as Christ. How is adopting the mindset of Christ changing who we include? How is it inspiring us to live differently? How is it changing who we invite? Where do we need an attitude adjustment? Sermon Building Key Points • Psalm 133 describes “how good and pleasant it is when ‘kindred’ live together in unity.” In the Psalmist’s time, kindred meant those who could trace their ancestry to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Through Christ we have a broader view and an understanding that we are all brothers and sisters in Christ. • In Philippians 2 we hear the apostle Paul urging the Philippians to place the welfare of others before their own and to follow Jesus as the ultimate example of that. • If we seek to have the mindset and attitude of Christ we seek to relate to others through humble service and humility. • In A Year With God, Richard Foster says, “Service is less a task or series of tasks than an attitude of obedience to God.” How does our attitude shift when we consider every task as an opportunity to serve God and others? • How does adopting the mindset of Christ change who we include in conversation, around the table at a meal, in worship, in a group? • John Maxwell says, “Change your thinking and you change your beliefs.
