Song one

‘Yet not I but through Christ in me’ - by City Alight

What gift of grace is Jesus my redeemer There is no more for heaven now to give He is my joy, my righteousness, and freedom My steadfast love, my deep and boundless peace To this I hold, my hope is only Jesus For my life is wholly bound to His Oh how strange and divine, I can sing: all is mine Yet not I, but through Christ in me

The night is dark but I am not forsaken For by my side, the Saviour He will stay I labour on in weakness and rejoicing For in my need, His power is displayed To this I hold, my Shepherd will defend me Through the deepest valley He will lead Oh the night has been won, and I shall overcome Yet not I, but through Christ in me

No fate I dread, I know I am forgiven The future sure, the price it has been paid For Jesus bled and suffered for my pardon And He was raised to overthrow the grave To this I hold, my sin has been defeated Jesus now and ever is my plea Oh the chains are released, I can sing: I am free Yet not I, but through Christ in me

With every breath I long to follow Jesus For He has said that He will bring me home And day by day I know He will renew me Until I stand with joy before the throne To this I hold, my hope is only Jesus All the glory evermore to Him When the race is complete, still my lips shall repeat Yet not I, but through Christ in me

To this I hold, my hope is only Jesus All the glory evermore to Him When the race is complete, still my lips shall repeat Yet not I, but through Christ in me Yet not I, but through Christ in me http://www.cityalight.com/yet-not-i-but-through-christ-in-me/

CCL205842 Song two ‘Oceans’ Hillsong UNITED With ‘’ (bridge only) - Amanda Cook and

Verse 1 You call me out upon the waters The great unknown where feet may fail And there I find You in the mystery In oceans deep My faith will stand

Chorus And I will call upon Your name And keep my eyes above the waves When oceans rise, my soul will rest in Your embrace For I am Yours and You are mine

Verse 2 Your grace abounds in deepest waters Your sovereign hand Will be my guide Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me You've never failed and You won't start now

Chorus

Bridge 1 Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders Let me walk upon the waters Wherever You would call me Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander And my faith will be made stronger

Bridge 2 'Cause you make me brave You make me brave You call me out beyond the shore into the waves You make me brave You make me brave No fear can hinder now the love that made a way

Verse 2 I raise a hallelujah, with everything inside of me I raise a hallelujah, I will watch the darkness flee I raise a hallelujah, in the middle of the mystery I raise a hallelujah, fear you lost your hold on me

CCL205842 Hello everyone!

I have felt very strongly led by this morning’s message to that concept of ‘reckless love’ described in ’s song of the same name. To summarise I am so thankful that our God looks beyond our history, our failings and all our insecurities and says we are worthy of His love. Once again I am struck that we are not forgotten and God goes with us in our lows and in our highs.

I have chosen the the songs above because each one of them represents how even while we are struggling with all kinds of things in these uncertain times that we still have a God we can call upon to lift us up and guide us through it all. God will give us strength and courage and as our response we must give Him the attention, the glory and the place he deserves. I believe that our new way of engaging in worship has a huge role to play in reaching those who have fallen off the radar and maybe have no connection with church at all. We are moving into a time where our faith and worship is moving by default into our daily interactions and that is so exciting! As kingdom builders our job is really kicking into action and I’m imagining the possibilities of the future if we all accept that call into the ‘uncomfortable’ and the ‘new’. Search yourself with the help of God and discover the gifts he has given you (for some you isn’t be rediscovering these and that’s okay!) and pray for that bravery and motivation to carry Him with you this week to the cashiers, dog walkers and neighbours that you pass by. Again lets not limit the power of God to use little moments.
