I CAN ONLY IMAGINE I CAN A Memoir ONLY IMAGINE Bart Millard a memoir With Robert Noland Bart Millard with robert noland Imagine_A.indd 7 10/3/17 10:11 AM Appendix 1 YOUR IDENTITY IN CHRIST My mentor, Rusty Kennedy, was integral in discipling me in my walk with Christ. He gave me these seventy- five verses and state- ments while I was unpacking my past and starting to understand who I truly am in Jesus. Ever since then, I have carried these close to my heart. I pray these will minister to you the way they have to me so that you, too, can understand that in Christ, you are free indeed! 1. John 1:12—I am a child of God. 2. John 15:1–5—I am a part of the true vine, a channel (branch) of His life. 3. John 15:15—I am Christ’s friend. 4. John 15:16—I am chosen and appointed by Christ to bear His fruit. 5. Acts 1:8—I am a personal witness of Christ for Christ. 6. Romans 3:24—I have been justified and redeemed. 7. Romans 5:1—I have been justified (completely forgiven and made righteous) and am at peace with God. 8. Romans 6:1–6—I died with Christ and died to the power of sin’s rule in my life. APPENDIX 1 9. Romans 6:7—I have been freed from sin’s power over me. 10. Romans 6:18—I am a slave of righteousness. 11. Romans 6:22—I am enslaved to God. -
100 Most Influential Black Christian History-Makers
100 Most Influential Black Christian History-Makers Black history is important, but making history now is more important. Compiled and Edited by the Editors of BCNN1.com Black Christian News Network One We thank God for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks, but we need a Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and a Rosa Parks today. Introduction We believe that black history is important. But we also believe that making history today is more important. We cannot rest on the laurels of great luminaries such as Frederick Douglass, Martin Luther King, Jr., Rosa Parks, George Washington Carver, and others. God used these and others mightily in their time; now He has given us this time and we will have to answer to Him as to how we use it. In light of that, we have attempted to place in one volume the most influential Black Christian History-Makers who are living today and who are serving Jesus Christ with their various gifts and talents. The ability to lead is not something you can train to have. True leadership is a gift from God that is undeniable by people. You cannot make yourself a leader of people. In other words, you cannot be a leader just because you want to be. Only God makes leaders. One can improve his or her leadership abilities but one cannot make himself or herself a leader. The people who have been chosen for this list are not people who are trying to be leaders; they were born leaders by the grace of God. -

A Piece of History
A Piece of History Theirs is one of the most distinctive and recognizable sounds in the music industry. The four-part harmonies and upbeat songs of The Oak Ridge Boys have spawned dozens of Country hits and a Number One Pop smash, earned them Grammy, Dove, CMA, and ACM awards and garnered a host of other industry and fan accolades. Every time they step before an audience, the Oaks bring four decades of charted singles, and 50 years of tradition, to a stage show widely acknowledged as among the most exciting anywhere. And each remains as enthusiastic about the process as they have ever been. “When I go on stage, I get the same feeling I had the first time I sang with The Oak Ridge Boys,” says lead singer Duane Allen. “This is the only job I've ever wanted to have.” “Like everyone else in the group,” adds bass singer extraordinaire, Richard Sterban, “I was a fan of the Oaks before I became a member. I’m still a fan of the group today. Being in The Oak Ridge Boys is the fulfillment of a lifelong dream.” The two, along with tenor Joe Bonsall and baritone William Lee Golden, comprise one of Country's truly legendary acts. Their string of hits includes the Country-Pop chart-topper Elvira, as well as Bobbie Sue, Dream On, Thank God For Kids, American Made, I Guess It Never Hurts To Hurt Sometimes, Fancy Free, Gonna Take A Lot Of River and many others. In 2009, they covered a White Stripes song, receiving accolades from Rock reviewers. -

For the Ouled Nail dancers; the women who inspired dreams Finally, at the extreme limit of the flattened plain, we were surrounded by an indecisive mirage. Here the earth no longer has either solidity or colour. It is a place where the dazzled eye reads the solid mountains as wisps of mist. A vague sequence of images replaces the seven heads of the Seba Rous, the Guest-Esthel and the mountainous entrance to the land of the Ouled Nail. In the summer of 2011 they traveled to Denver, CO and felt God’s calling toward this city. Soon, Jordan met with the leadership of the Calvary Family of Churches. This group shared his love for Christ, the church, and the Denver-metro area. Jordan, Jessica, and their family moved to Denver in January of 2014 and began an internship with Calvary Church Littleton and Calvary Church Englewood. During this same period of time, the Lord was also preparing the hearts of Caleb and Casey Van Roekel for future ministry. Caleb was a student at Denver Seminary and members of Calvary Church Englewood. Through much prayer and seeking the Lord, Caleb and Casey joined with the Branches to help lead and Plant this church. After much prayer, it was decided to plant the church in the city of Lakewood! In addition to formal seminary training Jordan (Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary) and Caleb (Denver Seminary) also completed pastoral and church planting internships through the Calvary Family of Churches. In preparation to plant the church, they began building a team of individuals and families who would serve as the core team of Calvary Church Lakewood.
