A Review of Despicable Me 2 Despicable Me 2 is an animated children's movie. Many people love this movie because it is a comedy or because of the attitude of the characters. Animated movies are not normally my favorite movies, but this one is one of my favorites. You should definitely go and see this movie. You and your families will love it. The special effects and the characters in this movie were the best part. The effects that went in to make each character unique were amazing; all the characters voices reflected on their personalities. Steve Carell is the voice of Gru; an evil inventor, who has three adopted girls, and is in love with a woman named Lucy. Kristen Wiig is the voice of Lucy in Despicable Me 2; Lucy and Gru are spies. Gru has three girls named Margo, Edith, and Agnes; they are very curious about Gru's work and Lucy. Gru also has helpers called minions; they are little yellow creatures, and some of them have one glass goggle and others have two goggles. Their voices definitely fit their personalities. Overall, I would not change any of the characters or their voices. The animation and special effects of the setting was one of the best parts. The story takes place in an underwater lab, Gru's house, Gru's lab, and the mall. In the basement of Gru's house is his lab. His house is the darkest on the street; it is damp and scary. Even though there are not very many different settings in the movie, all of the settings were well thought through. All of the other special effects were amazing too. The background music in the movie has become very popular. One of the best-known songs is “Happy.” Meanwhile, the clothing really helped you to understand the character’s personality. To close, the clothing and the music added life to the movie. The special effects of this movie are what made it what it is. This movie will keep you on the edge of your seat the whole time. My sister, Gracie says, "I love this movie; it is one of the best movies I have ever seen.” Normally, I do not like animated movies, but I really liked this one. Take your parents with you to go and see this movie. .

Introduction The American movie industry has been much studied, as befits what is not only a cultural institution in its native country, but a major export to other nations as well. Academic articles on film have frequently been critical or historical studies focused on one or a few films (Bordwell & Caroll 2012). At the same time, film studios and distributors, and the consultants they hire, have compiled detailed sales and marketing analyses of movie performance - but these studies remain proprietary and do not appear in the open literature. We submit that there is a clear need for studies of American movies as a whole, looking for trends in both the film industry and popular culture, and including as many movies as possible. Quantitative methods are ideal for such a study, because they make relatively few theoretical assumptions and easily scale up to incorporate many data sources. The key to such studies is to identify measurable quantities of interest (variables) that provide insight into research questions, and to use as large and complete a dataset as possible. The main research question we seek to answer in this paper is: What, if anything, are the relationships between a movie’s perceived artistic merit as ranked by critics, a movie’s quality as ranked by viewers, a movie’s gross box office take, and its release date? The relationship between these four categories is an important one. As much as one may decry the ties between art and commerce, they always exist, and perhaps nowhere more so than in film. Even as the word “film” itself becomes increasingly obsolete with the rising prominence of digital video, movies remain fantastically expensive, with professional product well beyond the reach of almost any one person to fund.
