Medical Anniversary , 8 APRIL 1869 Harvey Cushing (1869-1939) was born in , Ohio, USA, son of a professor of obstetrics. He was educated at both Yale and Harvard Universities and then joined Professor WS Halsted's department of surgery at the new , . His colleagues were Osler, Welch and Kelly. He became professor of surgery at Harvard (1912) and neurology at Yale (1932). His Cushing's syndrome and facies are now household medical terms.
