Government Notice No. 1634 . ‘WESTERN REGION MARKETING BosrD 1962-63 COCOA MARKETING SCHEME: MINIMUM BUYING STATION PRICES It is notified for general information that the Western Region Marketing Board, by virtue of its powers under section 16 (a) of the Marketing Board Law (Cap. 75 of the Laws of the Western Region ofNigeria, 1959), has fixed the prices set out in columns II and III of the Schedule subjoined as the minimum prices payable forcocoa during the 1962-63 season at gazetted buying stations in the Western Region specified in column I. 2. The minimum buyingstation prices are based on the naked ex-scale port of shipmentprices fixed by the Board for the 1962-63 season less the transport differentials by the approved evacuationroutes. Propuce Sares Tax 3. Under the provisions of the Western Region Produce Sales Tax Law (Cap. 99 of the Laws of the Western Region ofNigeria, 1959), all sales ofcocoa made in the Western Region to the licensed buying agents of the Western Region Marketing Board are subject to producesales tax at the rate of £4 per ton. 4. For purposes of collection of this tax, for which under the Western Region Produce Sales Tax Law, 1957, the Marketing Board is accountable to the appropriate regional authority in respect of all sales of cocoa made to it or to its licensed buying agents in the Region the arrangements as set out in paragraph 5 are pre- scribed. : o 5.
