MIPTV TO HONOUR FOUR TOP INDUSTRY EXECUTIVES MARION EDWARDS, KONSTANTIN ERNST, HERBERT G. KLOIBER AND TIM WORNER

Paris, 24 March 2014 – MIPTV 2014, the world’s content market, will honour four leading television executives with the MIPTV Médaille d’Honneur Award.

Launched in 2013 on the occasion of MIPTV’s 50th anniversary, the prestigious Médaille d’Honneur is awarded to senior international executives who have, through their talent, leadership, and passion, made a significant contribution to the world of television and to the development of the international TV community. Organised by Reed MIDEM, MIPTV will take place in Cannes, from 7-10 April 2014.

The MIPTV 2014 Médaille d’Honneur awards will be presented by Reed MIDEM CEO Paul Zilk during a gala dinner on Wednesday 9 April at the Carlton Hotel in Cannes.

The honourees to receive the accolade are:

Marion Edwards, President of International Television, 20th Century Fox Television Distribution. Edwards oversees the licensing of all content produced by Twentieth Century Fox, Fox21, FX Production and Fox Television Studios to international premium pay, basic pay, and network television worldwide. Edwards also established the successful international format division creating an additional revenue stream for the studio. Local versions of “Modern Family” (Chile & Israel), “Prison Break” (Russia) and “24” (India) have already been produced, with a Chinese adaptation of “Glee” about to go into production. Edwards is routinely included in the Hollywood Reporter's "Power 100" Women in Hollywood issue and has also been named Broadcast Magazine's #1 dealmaker in the international marketplace.

Konstantin Ernst, Chief Executive Officer of , TV and film producer. One of the most influential media executives in Russia, since 1995 Ernst has headed Channel One Russia, the country’s leading broadcaster, watched by an audience of some 250 million worldwide. He was the Chief Creative Director & Screenwriter of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies. A seven-time winner of the Russian Television Academy TEFI Award, Ernst has launched countless famous international and local TV formats and shows that became instant sensations across Russia, including “Survivor,” “Dance With The Stars,” “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” and “The Voice”. He has also produced blockbuster movies including “The Turkish Gambit,” “Night Watch,” “Day Watch” and the Oscar-nominated “My Love.”

Herbert G. Kloiber, Chairman and Owner, Tele München Group, one of Germany’s leading media companies. Kloiber started his career at Leo Kirch’s Beta/Taurus in 1970, before joining Unitel, a film and television production company specialising in opera and concert films. In 1977, he acquired Tele München and developed the company’s production operation into a fully- integrated media corporation. TMG now controls one of the largest television and film libraries in Europe. Its activities include the production and acquisition of feature films, TV productions and classical music programmes, as well as their distribution in the theatrical, video, broadcasting and merchandising sectors. TMG is a shareholder in the German networks TELE 5 and RTL II, and ATV and ATV II in Austria.

Tim Worner, CEO of Seven West Media, the leading listed multi-platform media business in Australia, parent company of top-rated TV network, Seven Television. Worner started his broadcast career as a journalist at Channel Seven Perth. A consummate TV professional, he has worked in many capacities since joining the Seven Network in 1995. His roles have included Head of Program Development, Head of Sport in Melbourne and Head of Infotainment. He was appointed Director of Programming and Production in 2002 and CEO of Seven Network Television in 2011, and became CEO of Seven West Media on 1 July 2013.
