The race has been approved by China's National Sports Authority and is organised by the FASC of China. The championship, a new Formula event launched by the FIA this year, paves the way for new motorsport development in addition to fostering the growth of green motoring technology. The races will promote environmental protection as well as highlighting the value of electric engines, batteries, electric manoeuvring technology and electric safety devices used within the electric vehicle industry.
