Bhadra (Krishna's Wife) Bhadra (Krishna's wife) Lord Shri krishna chiefly had 8 wives according to scriptures, Different scriptures differ on the names of wives, praticularly on the names of Bhadra, Madri, Rohini and Kalindi. Eight wives as listed by Bhagavata purana are: Rukmini. Satyabhama. Jambavati. Kalindi. Mitravinda. Untitled Krishna had a total of 16,108 wives, of which only eight were his princely wives,also known. as Ashtabharya,or patrani (Rukmini, Satyabhama, Jambavati, Nagnajiti, Kalindi,Mitravinda, Bhadra, Lakshmana) and the other 16,100 were rescued from Narakasura. Sruta, Kavi, Vrisha, Vira, Subahu, Bhadra, Santi, Darsa and Purnamasa were sons of Kalindi. After reading the lives of Sri Chaitanya, Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother and direct disciples we come to know the importance and spiritual significance of these places. Holy Mother and many disciples of Sri Ramakrishna had great time in Orissa. Many are blessed here by the vision of Lord Jagannath or the Master. The lives of these great souls had shown us a way to visit these places with spiritual consciousness and devotion. Unless we read the life of Sri Chaitanya we will not understand the life of Sri Ramakrishna properly. Similarly unless we study the chapter in the lives of these great souls in Orissa we will not be able to understand and appreciate the significance of these places. So you also by hearing for 7 days you will also get addicted to hearing Bhagvat, for example alcoholic keeps on drinking and says “jina to kaya jina pine ke bina”. Like that by regularly hearing Bhagavat we will get addicted and one day will come we will not be able to live without “Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare. One man used to say I will read Bhagvat tomorrow, I will read Bhagvat tomorrow ….and tomorrow as no end. Lord is bakebihari he is not straight, Lord Krishna is given the name Tribhanga Lalit, he whose body assumes a beautiful threefold bending form. So it’s very difficult to make Him enter our heart but once He enters then it’s very difficult to remove Him, as He is Tribhanga. So first day we had Bhagvat katha we heard about glories of Prabhupada, he is himself Bhagvat .

    || Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya || 1) When the King of Chedi (Damaghosha) returned to his place, Sri Janardana got to know that Rugmini, who was Mahalakshmi herself, was getting ready for a Swayamvara. 2) Her elder brother Rugmini hated Sri Hari, the lord of Ramaa, and had stopped the marriage of Rugmini, who was dear to Sri Hari, with Sri Krishna. 3) When the Swayamvara was announced, Jarasandha, along with other warriors such as Salva, Paundraka, Shishupala and others left (for the Swayamvara). 4) Then, Sri Krishna quickly left for Kundinapura. Garuda too reached him as soon as he (Sri Krishna) remembered him. 5) Due to the wind speed from his wings, the Kings fell down on the ground. When Garuda’s strength itself is so much, what to say of Sri Hari’s strength? 6 to 10) “What shall we do now for our good?” – thought all the Kings. At that time Jarasandha said thus – “This Krishna, who keeps winning, is definitely Vishnu himself. Or else, how can he be pakshivahana (rider of Garuda)? All of us have lost to him alone every time in battle. Even though we have attacked him together, we have never won even once. His brother Balarama had almost killed me. When I was badly hurt, he left me after listening to an ashareeravani. What else to say of his (Sri Krishna’s) strength? Without himself getting hurt, he is rendering us almost like a blade of grass everytime. In such a grave scenario, what may be good for us to do?” 11) Speaking thus, Jarasandha lowered his lustre-less face.
