Spring 2021 Women’S and Men’S SPRING 2021 WOMEN’S AND MEN’S SPRING 2021 TOMMY HILFIGER COLLECTION WOMEN’S AND MEN’S Sunshine State of Mind, the Spring 2021 TOMMY HILFIGER COLLECTION Mens & Womens collection, celebrates the preppy country clubs of Palm Beach and colorful architecture of Ocean Drive. Channeling Tommy’s love of Miami, styles redefine country club aesthetics, clashing tennis, golf, yacht and beach dress codes for a modern mix of court sports and coastal prep. The season opens with foulard prints, engineered cricket cable sweaters, stripes, preppy feminine dresses, country club tailoring and the launch of the new Icons — the collection’s most elevated pieces yet. Clubhouse silhouettes and fabrications play off American traditions, with signature colors and ‘crest club’ badge detailing on blazers. Outerwear includes archive classics like the sailing jacket, with varsity pieces paying homage to the brand’s preppy heritage. The season’s end channels quintessential high summer, with floor-sweeping hems, romantic ruffles and vintage- inspired minis. Original, in-house created, hand-drawn prints in pastel tones feature Florida souvenir illustrations on floaty, tiered silk hems designed for versatile layering. Preppy Ithaca stripes add a fresh twist to silk shirting, archive-influenced shirts and short co-ords. Summer freshness is embodied in the ivory, organic cotton chore jacket and carpenter pant. Pastel Oxford shirting is reimagined in a maxi-length variation, while cherry-tinted seersucker suit separates bring decadence to men. Juxtaposing design and attention to detail, the Spring 2021 TOMMY HILFIGER COLLECTION Menswear & Womenswear collection is a celebration of both maximal and minimal, understated yet impactful style. Identifying Woven Textiles 1750–1950 DATS in partnership with the V&A 1 Identifying Woven Textiles 1750–1950 This information pack has been produced to accompany two one-day workshops taught by Katy Wigley (Director, School of Textiles) and Mary Schoeser (Hon. V&A Senior Research Fellow), held at the V&A Clothworkers’ Centre on 19 April and 17 May 2018. The workshops are produced in collaboration between DATS and the V&A. The purpose of the workshops is to enable participants to improve the documentation and interpretation of collections and make them accessible to the widest audience. Participants will have the chance to study objects at first hand to help increase their confidence in identifying woven textile materials and techniques. This information pack is intended as a means of sharing the knowledge communicated in the workshops with colleagues and the wider public and is also intended as a stand-alone guide for basic weave identification. This Lyonnais firm won a silver gilt medal at the Paris Exposition Universelle with a silk of this design, probably by Eugene Prelle, their chief designer. Its impact partly derives from the textures within the many-coloured brocaded areas and the markedly twilled cannetille ground.
