Futebolisticamente falando, passou de jogador importante a craque do time. Um grande escudeiro. celso Unzelte 00_Iniciais.indd 11 4/16/10 4:08:13 PM 00_Iniciais.indd 12 4/16/10 4:08:13 PM selecoes FIFA onfederacoes Fédération Internationale c de Football Association 21/5/1904 — Zurique (SUI) AFC Asian Football Confederation CONMEBOL 1954 — Kuala Lampur (MAS) Confederación Sudamericana escudos antigos de Fútbol 1916 — Assunção (PAR) AFC CAF Confédération Africaine de Football OFC 1957 — October City (EGI) Oceania Football Confederation 1966 — Auckland (NZL) CONCACAF CONCACAF Confederation of North, UEFA Central American and Union des Associations Caribbean Association Football Européennes de Football 1961 — Nova York (EUA) 1954 — Nyon (SUI) OFC Escudos dos times do mundo inteiro 13 01_Confederacoes.indd 13 3/3/09 10:25:30 AM afc BRUNEI CHINA The Football Association of AFEGANISTÃO Football Association of The Brunei Darussalam People’s Republic of China Afghanistan Football 1959 — Bandar Seri Begawan 1924 — Pequim (CHN) Federation (BRU) 1933 — Kabul (AFG) CINGAPURA ARÁBIA SAUDITA BUTÃO Football Association of Saudi Arabian Football Bhutan Football Federation Singapore Federation 1983 — Thimphu (BUT) 1892 — Cingapura (CIN) 1959 — Riad (ARA) CAMBOJA COREIA DO NORTE BANGLADESH Cambodian Football Federation DPR Korea Football Association Bangladesh Football Federation 1933 — Phnom Penh (CAM) 1945 — Pyongyang (CDN) 1972 — Dhaka (BAN) BAREIN CATAR COREIA DO SUL Bahrain Football Association Qatar Football Association Korea Football Association 1957 — Manama (BRN) 1960 — Doha (CAT) 1928 — Seul (COR) 14 01_Confederacoes.indd 14 3/3/09 10:25:33 AM EMIRADOS ÁRABES IÊMEN IRAQUE Yemen Football Association United Arab Emirates Football Iraqi Football Association selecoes Association 1962 — Al-Thawra City (IEM) 1948 — Bagdá (IRQ) 1971 — Abu Dhabi (EAU) ÍNDIA JAPÃO FILIPINAS All India Football Federation Japan Football Association Philippine Football Federation 1937 — Margao-Goa (IND) 1921 — Tóquio (JAP) 1907 — Metro Manila (FIL) INDONÉSIA GUAM JORDÂNIA Guam Football Association Football Association of Indonesia Jordan Football Association 1975 — Hagatna (GUM) 1930 — Jacarta (IDN) 1949 — Amã (JOR) HONG KONG The Hong Kong Football IRÃ KUWAIT Association Ltd. • Reforming FIFA from the Inside Out
V ANDERBILT J OURNAL of T RANSNATIONAL L AW VOLUME 52 MARCH 2019 NUMBER 2 Reforming FIFA from the Inside Out Steven A. Bank* ABSTRACT In response to an unprecedented crisis that has been called “the World Cup of Fraud,” the Fédération Internationale de Football Association, or FIFA, has undertaken a series of reform measures in the last several years. Most of these reforms have focused on attempting to break the cycle of corruption among football insiders by bringing in more outsiders, including independent chairs of both the Ethics Committee and Audit and Compliance Committee, as well as individuals to serve in executive positions who had not previously been involved in the sport at any level. Such an outsider-focused reform strategy takes a page from the US corporate governance playbook, which has increasingly come to rely upon independent directors as a way to keep the interests of management insiders aligned with the interests of shareholders. This Article argues that, rather than focusing on bringing in more outsiders, FIFA should harness the power of insiders. The evidence is mixed as to whether independent directors are effective in public corporations, but it is even less clear in the case of nonprofit corporations where there are no stockholders to which the independent directors report. This model is particularly inappropriate in the case of FIFA, which does not even have the donors or government oversight that are present in US nonprofits. By contrast, FIFA insiders were instrumental in spurring the investigations that led to the US indictments in 2015 * Paul Hastings Professor of Business Law, UCLA School of Law.

INTERPOL Integrity in Sport Bi-Weekly Bulletin 18 February 2020 - 2 March 2020 INVESTIGATIONS China Match fixing allegations hit StarLadder Dota 2 Minor qualifiers Match fixing scandals have been a bane of esports’ existence, and Dota 2 hasn’t been immune to this. The latest example is an eruption of controversy around a series between Newbee and Avengerls. Facing off in a series in the Chinese qualifiers to the StarLadder Season 3 Minor, a number of fans and pro players are crying foul about Avengerls’s performances during their 2-1 series loss. They are honing in on a devastating comeback loss sustained by Avengerls in the second game of the series, which saw the team make a number of misplays that resulted in a Newbee victory. This was followed by discussions regarding the betting lines for the game, which seemingly favored Newbee despite Avengerls leading. Though fans will often wildly speculate that a match was fixed when a dramatic comeback occurs, the Newbee vs. Avengerls was different as multiple Chinese Dota 2 legends chimed in. The most notable example of this is former Newbee captain and current EHOME coach Zhang "xiao8" Ning stating he will “eat shit on stream” if it turns out the match was not fixed. The International 2012 winner Chen "Zhou" Yao also spoke out, questioning the legitimacy of the game.
