Congratulations on taking that 1st action step to a better, healthier you. I hope you are as enthusiastic about starting your journey as I am for you. If you are committed to following this cleanse, willing to try new things, and most importantly, willing to let go of old habits, I can promise you that you won’t walk away disappointed.

I’m not going to bore you with a bunch of words. What I am going to do is give you a bunch of action steps that you can instantly apply to get you started on your fat loss journey.

Are you ready?

Seriously?

Because this is only going to work if you’re seriously ready, and committed to changing. Through my experience what I’ve found is that weight loss is only temporary. Lifestyle change is permanent. That’s what you want, right?

You don’t want to keep yo-yo-ing up and down with your weight like you have been do you? Good. I don’t want that for you either. It’s easier to make a couple simple changes and keep the weight off for good.

Now, you’ve decided to take action and buy this. What’s the next step? It’s making the commitment to change.

The Program: What Fires together Wires Together. The more you “think, do and act” around these ideas, the more “Programmed” they will become. That’s why this program is built around participation.

The Universe/God rewards actions, so the key here is to move beyond thinking (only reading these words), and start to become these words. To BE the change you want in your life. Below, I’ve created a contract. The funny thing about this is that as silly as it may seem to sign and date it, there becomes an accountability factor attached to it. Whenever I sign something I instantly feel more accountable than if I just say I’m going to do it.

Go ahead and show this to your friends and family to have them hold you accountable also. Make the promise that you’ll stick through this even when times are rough.

Happy Cleansing, Accountability Contract

I, ______, make this promise to myself, to my future self, to my family and friends and to the source of my life. I am committed to the following:

1. Knowledge: I am willing to let go of who I was to become who I will be. I understand that all that I “know” is not who I am. I am open to new information and willing to change my beliefs if I am empowered to do so. I am committed to seeking alternative viewpoints.

2. Duration: I will create a 30 day window to be fully committed to the program because I understand that it takes 30 days to break and/or build a habit. Beyond these 30 days I am committed to lifelong wellness and healthy food, water, air and thoughts.

3. Commitment: I will be confident and powerful in my choices. I will cleanse my thoughts and my emotions as much as my body from thoughts of “Failure”, or “I’m not good enough”, or “This is too hard”. I will recognize feedback, and thankfully take note of how I was and who I am going to be, and who I am going to be is fully committed to my intentions.

4. Cheating: I will be strict with my intentions. I will not waiver from the routine. But if I do cheat, I will not quit, and I will not beat myself up, but I will feel re-energized to re-commit to my intentions of losing weight and feeling great. If I chose to quit, I will still Ease-Out, and treat my body with respect and chose to quit gracefully. I will then move into doing The Super Fast Diet, for the remainder of the program.

5. Accountability: I will hold myself accountable by asking someone I trust to be my “Buddy” and to hold me accountable by discussing with them my commitment, and showing them my contract with myself. I will not quit, or deviate from my plan unless I re-negotiate my contract with myself, and my buddy.

Signed______Date______Principals of Cleansing A few Key Ideas we should agree on

Toxic Overload

Is everything a toxin?

These days it seems everyone is all of a sudden allergic to Gluten. And how can a strawberry be toxic? We know some people are allergic, but why?

The truth is that “EVERYTHING” has the ability to be toxic to our bodies (all of them).!

We’ll use the word “Toxic” to mean any foodstuff that might cause a sensitivity or reaction in your physical body.

This is probably the most important principal of cleansing, to remove, and identify toxins in your body and your life.

It is possible to cure allergies, and become tolerant to some previously toxic foods.

Yet, it’s also possible to be constantly sick from continuing to eat foods that are currently toxic. What makes a food toxic to you, or anyone else is a very complicated subject and WAY beyond the scope of this program.

For the purpose of establishing a framework as our base, we’ll outline some of the common “Whole Foods” and “Created Foodstuffs” that are often toxic.

The Hunger Games

I’ll just say it.

You’re going to be “HUNGRY” during your cleanse.

The question is going to be: what are you hungry for, why are you hungry, or what kind of hunger is it?

Today, we’ve become so numb to the subtle differences in our “bodies” (mental, emotional, physical etc.), that we can’t distinguish the difference between true physical hunger, when your body truly needs food, and emotional/psychological hunger where we have tricked ourselves into thinking we’re hungry to feed our organism, when we’re really hungry to feed our pain. When we feel “hunger” if we train ourselves, through the quieting, and simplifying of our

“input” (food, thoughts), and the hunger is quietly observed, we discover immense opportunity for growth, change, and the detox of your mind as well as your body.

When that “hunger” sensation arises, mindfully keep your attention on it, and ask yourself:

What am I really feeling?

If it’s boredom, restlessness or any other emotion, truly allow yourself to feel it. You don’t have to wallow in unhappiness or negativity, but simply recognize what the true feeling is, and put a name to it.

Am I truly hungry or am I feeling anxious / nervous / sad / upset right now?

With a little effort, this exploration can help bring awareness to the difference between true hunger and emotional hunger. Understanding this distinction on a

personal level can help stop the cycle of bad habits that lead to food cravings, weight gain, and poor health.

anxiety, and poor sleep. The amount of nutrient-dense food a person needs each day depends on their level of activity, but a good benchmark is eating a minimum of 1200 calories and 50-90 grams of protein each day. To reach this, try adding avocado, fruit, or coconut oil to your daily shakes.

Physical (True Hunger)

“True” Hunger will gradually arise and leave you open to different food options. You won’t be compelled to immediately fulfill this hunger and you’ll naturally stop eating when you’re full. You’ll feel happy and content when you’re done your meal.

Emotional (and Psychological)

Emotional Hunger will come on quickly, sometimes instantly (in combination with Social

Hunger). Often you will be intensely seeking to fill a craving for 1 specific food or foodstuffs. You’ll feel compulsive in your desire to satisfy this craving immediately, and will often gorge yourself on that food until your well beyond being full or “satiated”. A good sign you just binged on emotions tied to food will be that you’ll feel ashamed of your gluttony, and guilty of your actions.

Social (Environmental)

We get it, it’s not always the easiest thing to stay Clean when your boss invites you to a wine tasting or your grandmother is looking forward to you attending her weekly Sunday brunch. We’ve been there. We know it’s challenging, but social obligations present a great time to get clear about why you are doing the cleanse. This is a chance to develop some personal independence and get outside your comfort zone.

Remember, you have chosen to do the Cleanse. Stay true to your goals. This can be a great time to bring awareness to any issues that arise during social, business, or family situations. Are you nervous about telling people what you’re doing? Do you feel inhibited when you’re not drinking? Use these insights to do some emotional cleansing and deepen your understanding of who you are and what you want.

Most of us have spent years repeating patterns and staying within our comfort zone.

The Clean Cleanse is an opportunity to mix things up and get clear on what works and what doesn’t.

Here are a few things we think will work for you:

Do some research: Most restaurants have some Clean options. Instead of trying to figure out what to eat when you arrive, call up the restaurant ahead of time to see how they can cater to the Cleanse Diet. A little extra effort goes a long way. Restaurants are generally very accommodating to those who ask.

Eating-in is the new dining-out: Invite friends over to make a Clean meal together instead of going out to eat. Get the family, the dog, and your quirky neighbours involved in preparing food. Tips for “Hunger”

Eat (True Hunger): Have some lemonade. Often, people new to a cleanse program will under-eat, and this can cause true hunger cravings (naturally). So eat. You should never be truly hungry if you’re eating enough Lemonade.

Drink Water (True/False): By hydrating with a glass of water or a cup of tea you will keep the bowels moving and to help flush out released toxins.

Do Something (False Hunger): Get up and go for a walk, call a friend or write a letter to a loved one, finish a work project, or simply stay with that feeling and let it rise up and then fall away naturally (which it will inevitably do), without having consumed any food. You may even feel the negative sensation change to a very pleasant one. The sense of empowerment that comes from this change can be amazing.

Lose Weight Fast ≠ Starvation Diet

Whether you’re doing The No-C.R.A.P Diet, or The Super Fast Diet during any of the phases of Before The Master Cleanse, Ease-In, Lemonade Diet, Ease-Out or After The

Master Cleanse, generally speaking, it’s NEVER a good idea to starve yourself.

Even Functional Fasts such as The Master Cleanse are responsible to give your body the nourishment, nutrients, tools and equipment it needs to sustain itself, yes, but also to do the function of the method. It’s especially true during The Lemonade Diet, when people are tempted to drink the minimum of just 6 glasses (or less sometimes!), in hopes that they will lose more weight more quickly.

That notion couldn’t be further from the truth.

The truth is to find a sweet spot, where you’re not Physically Hungry at any time. Drink

Fresh Lemonade at the very moment you feel weak, or physically hungry. Count at the end of day how many glasses you drank, rather than setting a number you plan to drink, and doing so at arbitrary times, regardless of how you feel. Increased Daily Detox = Deeper Cleansing

The Master Cleanse is about Cleanse and Rinse.

As your body begins to release toxins from cells and tissues, we get to aid this process by doing the Daily Detox Methods detailed in the supporting documents of this program, which we won’t duplicate here, except to summarize that our organs of detox

your job is to support the channels of elimination so that these waste products can make their way out. Here are some ways you can do just that: Sweat: Our skin is our largest organ and an amazing tool of detox. We sweat toxins out through exercise and saunas. You can also help shed the skin in this process by dry skin brushing, and using a loufa to exfoliate.

While you’re thinking about detox through your skin, take a moment to consider not

“RETOXING” through your skin. You skin absorbs most of what you apply to it, including your skin products, and the water in your shower. Clean up your skin care, to facilitate your on-going detox efforts.

Breath: Cardiovascular exercise gets your respiratory system working, which promotes detoxification. This will remove unhealthy layers of mucous lining the lungs causing toxicity. Cardiovascular exercise doesn't actually detoxify the lungs but it improves the health of the lungs by making them function more efficiently. Go for a hike, a bike ride, a swim, anything that gets your heart pumping, and enjoy the benefits.

Try meditating, the deep, thoughtful breath teaches you to fully utilize your diaphragm in your breath, calming your nerves, and strengthening your organ built in self-cleaning system (the cilia, which move bad stuff out of alveoli – air sacs – into the trachea), that gets clogged up over time, when making poor lifestyle choices.

Move: Exercise your body to get your lymphatic fluid moving which will boost circulation. Drink: We’re already being well hydrated through the lemonade, and water between meals, but just realize that your kidney’s will be grateful for your attention. You should be going #1 in the bathroom as many times as you drink a glass a lemonade.

Exercise and Rest

You can be active during The Master Cleanse, but some people benefit more from rest.

It depends on you, and where you’re at in your health, cleansing experience, and exercise experience.

Many of the Daily Detox Methods suggested involved light exercise in the purest definition of of the term “to move the body”. Just keep in mind the more you exercise, the more you need to recover. When exercise or recovery are occurring, the body moves energy to these areas and away from deeper detoxification. Light exercise includes things like 30 minutes of walking, yoga, cycling etc.

This light form of exercise is extremely helpful in the overall detox process because it will help remove toxins by activating the lymphatic system and boosts the effectiveness of all the elimination methods including the digestive track, lungs, and skin.

If you’re level of cleansing experience is such that you are less focused on deep detox, but more maintenance, you might also be altering other aspects of the diet such as how much you eat, compensation, how you modulate fasting types etc. If so you’ll probably understand If you’re new to cleansing, you will also want to adjust aspects of your daily routine to accommodate your exercise method, especially if you’re used to a certain level of exercise outside of a cleansing routine.

A good rule of thumb is “Double-Half”, which is to say, in and around your exercise time, double the amount of food you’ll eat, and cut in half the intensity of exercise you might usually do, in time and effort. Remember, the The Master Cleanse is a starvation diet, it’s encouraged to consume a minimum of 1200 calories, and the more you exercise the more you should consume.

Muscle Building

Muscle building, weight-lifting, or intense exercise is NOT recommended under any circumstances while on The Lemonade Diet, as the process of breaking down and building muscle requires protein, which is not readily available from the diet ingredients during these 10 days. Key Choices A few decisions you need to make going in.

Pick a Lane: What Type of Cleanser are you?

If you’ve never cleansed before, your a Newbie Cleanser, if you have cleansed before, either The Master Cleanse or any other cleanse you’re a Veteran Cleanser. If you’ve done The Master Cleanse before you’re, naturally, a Master Cleanser.

What’s the difference you might ask? It’s just a lane to guide you through your other choices during The Master Cleanse, including the following additional Key Choices, but also including things like daily, dynamic choices, like should you exercise, and how much. By consciously acknowledging you experience, you’ll be guided to make better choices.

For example, I constantly remind myself that I am an intermediate surfer, but when my friends are “charging” hard into big, challenging surf, I make my decisions based on my skill level. You should too. How Long do you plan to Cleanse?

The Master Cleanse Program is an extension to “The Classic” Master Cleanser, originally created by Stanley Burroughs, which consist of (at least) 10 Days of The

Lemonade Diet, and what I call the “Ease-Out”

You certainly can do The Classic Master Cleanse, but you paid for the whole program, so I assume you’re in the for the full 30 Days.

But, you might also be considering extending your 30 Days, which we certainly can understand, since The Master Cleanse Program, which introduces the concept of Super

Fasting, is just a modulated “Fast”, “Super Food”, routine, whereby you would intermittently alternate your diet plan.

If you’re choosing to extend your Master Cleanse we suggest 3 approaches:

1. The Super Cycle: Repeat the entire 30 Day Master Cleanse Program up to 3 times. This is the simplest approach, and effective. 2. The Super Lemonade Diet: Recommended for 60 Day Programs, extending The Lemonade Diet to 30 Days, the Ease-In and Ease-Out continue as 3 Days with the Before and After Master Cleanse segments become 12 days each instead of 7. 3. The Super Fast Program: Alternating Diet Plans on either side of a 30 Day Master Cleanse Program. Choose The Super Fast Diet, The No-SHIT Diet, The Paleo Plan, or the Alkaline Diet for before or after The Master Cleanse Program.

If you’re choosing to do an extended Master Cleanse Program, you might want to schedule a call with one of our coaches. You’ll also want to make sure you fully understand the whole Program, especially the Diet Plans you can build your program around.

When do you Choose to Start your Cleanse?

Choosing when you’re going to cleanse is simple, but important. We suggest choosing a

Monday, one full week after your biggest holiday, event, or commitment, that allows for a 30 day window to complete the entire program. If you’re doing The Classic Master

Cleanse, you can plan for just 13 days (with no Ease-In). This calendar show the whole

Lemonade Diet with Ease-In and Ease-Out. Program Overview

This Program Overview does contain BRIEF instructions on How to Master Cleanse, but remember to dig deeper into the provided program material to ensure you’re fully aware of the details of The Master Cleanse before you start.

The Master Cleanse Program is Super Simple: Super Fast Before, Ease-In, Lemonade Diet, Ease-Out! Before The Master Cleanse 7 Days

Before The Master Cleanse is really simple. Just do The Super Fast Diet. What is the

Super Fast Diet? In short, is a Super Food based diet structured eating program that includes periodic “Functional Fasting” days.

Download “The Super Fast” book and “How To Master Cleanse” book for more information and recipes, and

The Ease-In 3 Days

The Ease-In is the Opposite of the Ease-Out. Which is a 3 day, graduated Super Fast, starting with Salads, Soups and Smoothies on Day 1, then becoming more liquid day- by-day as more solid foods are removed. Day 2 is Soups and Smoothies, and Day 3 is

Smoothies (and Juices).

Download “The Super Fast” book for more information and recipes. The Lemonade Diet 10 Days

The famous Lemonade Diet consists of consuming only the lemonade made from Fresh

Lemon Juice, the “Master Herb”, Cayenne Pepper, Rich and Pure Water.

This “Cleanse” cycle, is the ingredients your body needs to be nourished, but also to do the job of aiding your body in detox. The “Rinse” cycle, eliminates the toxic waste from your system, by using the Salt Water Flush, Herbal Laxatives, and other Daily Detox

Methods to aid elimination.

The Ease-Out 3 Days

The Ease-Out is critically important, and is the exact opposite of the Ease-In, except that on the Smoothie (and Juices) only day during the Ease-Out, orange juice must be the only, Juice Fast taken on Day 1. Day 2 is Smoothies and Soups (broth first), and

Day 3 Salads are added to the routine. After The Master Cleanse 7 Days

After The Master Cleanse, is also simply the same as Before The Master Cleanse, the

Super Fast Diet, unless your choosing to do The Retox Diet to test for any “Toxic Tells”, or symptoms of food, and foodstuff sensitivities you might have, and are detoxing from such as Gluten, Dairy, Sugar, and more. Maximize Your Experience Getting the most from your Master Cleanse

Join a Group Cleanse

If you really want to get more support, and make new friends, you should consider joining one of our Quarterly Master Cleanse Support Groups, where you can do the cleanse with hundreds, and thousands of others just like you.

The Group Cleanse provides a forum to support each other while doing The Master

Cleanse together, but it also enables us to track our experiences by setting standards to the conversation. If we all just posted random thoughts we would get a lot less value from the comments. But if the comments are structured, and relevant by time and topic, we can gain even more insight, more quickly and more effectively. Therefore we ask participants to start and finish the Master Cleanse on the same dates.

For many of us, The Master Cleanse Experience is all about starting fresh, making changes and sharing with each other for support and encouragement. And Since we all eat so much over the holidays, I have noticed that many people are likely to start the

Master Cleanse after New Years, Easter, Summer Holidays and after Fall Holiday.

Scheduled Group Cleanses start on the first Monday a FULL week after the LAST DAY of a major holiday of the season. You can see the schedule here. We also provide 5 topics to post comments about to further structure the advice and questions from our participants. Our entries on the these specific topics will act as a

Daily Journal, open for the support of, and from the entire community. Each quarterly cleanse, we’ll reward all those who leave comments in general, but specifically, if you complete the entire Master Cleanse, and Journal Daily on these Daily Journal Pages, you’ll be eligible for some really great rewards.

Use the Workbooks

This program contains 3 workbooks that will enrich your experience, and entrench your new habits.

1. Visualiize Your Results: Dig deep to self-motivate, discovery “WHY” Master Cleanse is a means for change in your life, the goals you’re setting during the program, and how to envision the results you’re looking for.

2. Self-Care BioData Log: Document your experience with DATA, so you can track your results, and begin to realize the power of your own responsibility, and the emergence of technology to empower you to control your own destiny, and personal health management.

3. My Experience Journal: By keeping a diary of your thoughts, you’ll be engaged in the act of “exercising” your mind, in a way that tends to be extremely therapeutic. FAQ and SAQ Frequently Asked Questions , and SHOULD’VE Asked Questions

These are the answers to the list of the most often asked questions, but also the questions that if you already were a Master Cleanser, you would have asked before ;)

Cleanse Questions

How much water should I be drinking during the Cleanse?

A good rule of thumb is to drink at least 1 glass of water for every glass of lemonade.

You can also take additional glasses of water in between glasses of lemonade to test your “True Hunger”, and stave of the need to “eat”, or consume, or to be using your mouth, or just to be doing something.

How often should I cleanse?

We recommend doing The Master Cleanse every 9-12 months. In between your cleanses you can do mini-cleanses, by doing a Super Fast program, or a Juice Fast. I have a medical condition. Am I able to do the Clean Cleanse?

If you find yourself with the following special needs, you should NOT do The Master

Cleanse while you still have the specific need. If your situation changes, you can consider The Master Cleanse, but only after seeking more specialized attention.

1. Organ Transplants: Perhaps the only true situation that would preclude you from doing The Master Cleanse. Once thought that the stimulated immune system might cause the rejection of the organ, anecdotal evidence has caused this notion to come under scrutiny.

2. Chemotherapy: Although there are many stories of The Master Cleanse, Cancer and remission, some conventional treatments might have you on specific regimens of Chemo etc. which need to be selectively scheduled around any attempt at The Master Cleanse

3. Long Term Prescription: There are certain classes of drugs, like Prozac, or other Anti-Depressants that require the supervision of a medical profession to be weened off of over the course of weeks and sometimes months. Work with your doctor to get off of these medications first.

4. Highly Allergic People: In alternative medicine, allergies are considered to be indicators that the body burden of toxins is too high and therefore lower grade detox regimens might be best used first such as raw-food diet, gluten free diet, vegetable juice fast etc. People that are allergic to everything have a lot of toxins to come out. Doing it fast is not necessarily going to be best.

NOTE: I am not a doctor. I can’t coach you on the fine details of these complex issues.

If you have any of the above issues, please seek personal, and dedicated support when considering The Master Cleanse. The Super Fast Diet (Before, After, Ease-In, and Ease-Out)

Why can’t I have certain foods

We all know food can be allergic, in varying degrees of severity. By removing these foods, and foodstuffs (toxins), we can relieve the burden on the immune and digestive systems. That’s point #1 to The Mater Cleanse. To rest these systems. When these systems are not swamped with their duties, they change their primary directive from survival, to revival. That’s when the detox occurs.

Do I really have to give up coffee? What about decaf?

Yes, you really do have to give up all coffee, decaf included. Coffee is very acidic and dehydrating, and caffeine severely taxes the detox organs, such as the liver and kidneys. Even though decaf coffee does not have caffeine, it is still acidic and dehydrating, and the caffeine is usually extracted with chemical solvents, making it a poor choice during the Cleanse.

Detox Effects

My head is pounding. I think I am in withdrawal.

Drink lots of water, get ample rest, and up your intake of magnesium, either in capsule form or take Natural Calm (available on our website or in your local natural food store). If your caffeine withdrawal symptoms become too strong, put your Cleanse on pause by eating only from the Cleanse Diet for one to three days without having the Cleanse

Supplements and Cleanse Shakes. As soon as your symptoms are gone, you can jump back into the 21-day Cleanse.

I’m craving sugar, coffee, pasta etc.

Cravings are caused by either food instincts, detoxing/addiction of a substance, either physically, or emotionally.

Cravings are information, their messages from our body (and mind). It’s how you react to that information that’s important. What’s difficult to fully understand, since our body doesn’t send us emails, and info-graphics to articulate what these messages mean, especially since sometimes our body will sometimes crave food from an instinctual level, but more often than not, cravings are due to addictions we’ve formed to the self- medicating of pain and suffering.

Yes, it’s true that by eliminating a chemical from our diet, like caffeine or sugar, It will take several days (up to five) for the body to release its dependency the substance.

The addiction to the substance is often very closely associated to an emotional/mental pattern, and sequence of biological reactions. We become as addicted to those emotions as we do the substance. If you reached for the cookie when you’re anxious, then when the state anxiety arises, so does the desire for the cookie. Take the opportunity to embrace the information of these reactions to addiction, physical and emotional, then step outside the observer, recognize you’re more than just these reactions, take some deep cleansing breaths, then do something to “Pattern-

Interupt”. Sing a song, jump up and down, tell your partner you love them, do 10 pushups, or anything that changes the blockage of energy, stuck in that cycle of addiction, and brings you joy through another channel, and healthy channel.

I feel more irritable all of a sudden.

People often report this effect of detox. Don’t worry, it will pass. Again, take the opportunity to recognize your reaction to foods, and changes in diet are on your behaviour. It takes time for your body to adjust to new routines.

There is a saying, “Sick In, Sick Out”, which goes double for emotions. As we release the waste and toxins, we’re also re-living the old emotions that we felt in association to those food-mind experiences.

Just remember to embrace the healing crisis (breakdown), and seek the healing event

(breakthrough), by going deeper, and avoid giving into whatever you’re tempted to do, to eat, to feel, to be.

Be still. Take deep breaths. Micro-meditate. Repeat some mantras and affirmations, and try to recognize that your body is not you. Your mind is not you. Separate, and observer from your higher self, and most of all, be kind and forgiving to yourself, knowing that

“This to shall pass”.

Here’s a few Mantras for health you can use:

➡ I love myself, and I forgive myself. ➡ I forgive myself for allowing my [anger, resentment, fear, or what have you] to harm my body.

➡ I deserve to be healed. ➡ My body knows how to heal itself. ➡ I cooperate with my body's nutritional needs. ➡ I feed my body delicious, healthy foods. ➡ I love every inch of my body ➡ I see cool, clear water flowing through my body and washing away all impurities.

➡ My healthy cells grow stronger every day. ➡ I trust Life to support my healing in every way.

I’m feeling cold-like symptoms (stuffy nose, headaches, low energy).

The process of cleansing and detox will release toxins into the bloodstream, amongst other changes of the body. Muscle aches (especially legs and lower back), headaches, and vivid dreams are common symptoms of detoxification. Take a warm bath with epson salts. You’ll be aiding your cleanse with this Daily Detox

Method, but it’s also calming. Treat yourself gently, like any common cold.

Again, don’t worry. Be confined that what you’re feeling is most likely not a cold, but common detox symptoms. These symptoms are signs that your body is doing it’s job to move back into balance by eliminating toxins that have been building up, sometimes for years and decades.

Take it easy, and go slow. There is no rush

If you’re dealing with a challenging symptom, contact a Wellness Coach for support.

If your cold-like symptoms do not clear up in three days, please stop the Cleanse and contact your family healthcare practitioner.

Weight Loss & Physical Effects

Is this really the “best” way to lose weight (fast).

There will never been a better way for long term weight loss. Eat whole, natural, Super

Foods, have good elimination and aid the body with Daily Detox methods, exercise daily, and indulge in delightfully delusional visualizations of your intended results. If you’re looking to “Lose Weight Fast” as well as to detox, then The Master Cleanse is in our opinion the most superior (and multi-beneficial) reduction diet known to man.

I lost weight for a while, but now I have plateaued.

This is common, so please, never fear. There is no one way to lose weight. Everyone is different. Even your own experiences will vary from cleanse to cleanse. Stay calm and carry on, and know you’re doing your body good. Take lots of lemonade, drink lots of water. Have a bowel movement each day. You might consider adding Daily Detox

Methods if you haven’t yet, like exercise (walking, swimming), infrared saunas, massages, and yoga are other great methods to promote weight loss during your

Cleanse.

Help, I am gaining weight, not losing it.

Believe it or not, this can happen. The changes in our bodies can promote water retention for a period, and may conserver “resources” while it adapts to the new regimen. This is why 10 days on The Lemonade Diet is so important. Once the body settles into the new program of “Cleansing”, you will start shedding waste, inches and pounds. Unless, of course, you don’t need to lose any weight. Leave room for the possibility that your body image has become a little distorted over time, and you’re actually at your ideal weight. It’s been reported, by those who do the cleanse properly, and that are underweight, that weight is gained by the body as it strives to achieve balance. Our bodies are amazing “synthesizing” machines, making use of, indeed recycling our old parts, cells and molecules.

How do I know the cleanse is working?

Since The Master Cleanse is such a great reduction diet, and is the primary intention of

56% of Master Cleansers, often the only measure of success we use is the amount of weight we’ve lost.

But there are many measures we can use to gauge our success, and we encourage you to do so by using our Self-Care Logs to identify changes in your well-being like:

➡ How are you sleeping? How many hours? What is the quality? ➡ How many movements? Are they becoming less, solid, and dark? ➡ What healing breakdowns have you had? Did you breakthrough them (did they resolve?) Are they more or less frequent?

➡ The level of energy you feel in the morning, afternoon and evening. ➡ Are you more aware of your thoughts regarding food? Are you cheating? If so how much? Is this due to True Hunger or False Hunger?

➡ How is your mood? Are you irritable, doubtful, fearful, happy optimistic, faithful?

Take some time each day to document these experiences. Combined with the more quantifiable measurements like weight, and inches, you’ll get a better sense of what’s working in your cleanse. I don’t want to lose weight, should I still cleanse?

The best way to help your body achieve balance is to feed it well. Don’t starve yourself.

The fully 18 glasses of Lemonade is over 2,000 calories. You’ll still get all the benefits of your immune and digestive systems being rested, and reset from fasting.

Lifestyle and Social Concerns

What about Drugs, Prescribed, or otherwise.

Prescription drugs should be stopped if possible, and prescribed to do so before doing

The Master Cleanse. This is possible in most cases.

Alcohol should be avoided completely (during the entire program). Alcohol destroys beneficial bacteria (as does The Lemonade Diet). But alcohol also dehydrates the body, in contrast to our intentions to be fully hydrated to aid our kidneys in detox. Alcohol also taxes the adrenals, hinders liver detoxification, feeds yeast in the intestines, and contains preservatives that are often sourced from wheat and corn.

What’s more, we often use alcohol as physical and emotional self-medication, as we do also with other drugs like marijuana. While it’s true that smoking, weed or cigarettes is not eating, it’s still consuming the substance into our blood, into our systems, and it alters our mind. Remember, this detox is about change, about renewal, and it’s as much about your other bodies (mental, emotional, psychological) etc. as it is about the physical. Take this opportunity to fully cleanse.

How can I manage travel while cleansing?

Whenever possible, The Master Cleanse should be done between travelling needs.

Look at your calendar, and plan ahead. But, if you have to travel, it can be done.

The biggest challenge will be if you’re currently doing The Lemonade Diet. If you are, you’ll need to prepare a travel kit, that will enable you to make your Lemonade fresh for each glass (meal). If you can manage bringing fresh fruit, do so. If not, consider making the concentrate, by mixing the lemon juice and the maple syrup together. The syrup will act like a preservative for the active enzymes, critical to your detox process. Keep the cayenne and water separate to be mixed in each drink as you prepare it.

If you can’t take liquids, like on a flight for example. Understand that allowances for up to 3 drinks are common (6 table spoons of liquid). Or, ensure you have enough to make before your departure and make plans for immediately after your arrival. If you’re flight is so long and you can’t bring enough liquid, then consider changing your plans, either for your flight, or for your cleanse.

If you’re on your Ease-In, Ease-Out or Super Fast before or after The Master Cleanse make sure you’re prepared with any containers you might need to pack your lunch. Also consider checking in advance any cleanse-friendly restaurants, juice bars, farmers’ markets, and health food stores. Most grocery stores have organic and gluten-free food sections. When ordering at restaurants, don’t be afraid to make special requests. A great restaurant won’t mind removing the cheese on a salad, serving you olive oil and lemon as a dressing, or giving you an extra side of vegetables.
