Due to the importance of this disease in the region and favorable living conditions for the vectors, this study was conducted to determine the outbreak of disease in villages of Rustam, Mamasani and Fasa in Fars province. The population society consisted of the villages of the Fars province, where some cases of leishmaniasis were observed in previous years and villages that are prone to this disease as well as a number of villages in Fars province. In total, 12 villages with the total population of 15225 and 5000 household were considered. Questionnaires were completed by referring to the rural houses and basic physical examination of family members. Suspicious cases after sampling and diagnostic tests were identified and paperwork was conducted for the patients with cutaneous lesion. Results show that there was a remarkable outbreak of the cutaneous leishmaniasis in Rustam city in 2010 which among 10 patients, four men (40%) and six women (60%), with cutaneous leishmaniasis were identified with a mean age of 47.7.

A PEER-REVIEWED ARTICLE (RECEIVED – 14 JUN 2020: REVISED – 18 AUGUST 2020: ACCEPTED – 14 SEPTEMBER 2020) ABSTRACT This study examines on how participants’ education, economy and satisfaction contribute to the effectiveness of microcredit scheme known as Hijrah Selangor in widening the middle- income earners group in Selangor. To examine this, a cluster sampling consisting of 210 respondents, who reside and operate their businesses in three different zones, were given a AZJAF (e-ISSN: 2716-6643) Vol.1 No. 1 (2020) Page 57 set of questionnaires to gather the information. Several different statistical analyses are conducted with the main analysis being a multiple linear regression analysis. The results indicate that all studied variables; education, economy, and satisfaction have a positive relationship with the effectiveness of Hijrah Selangor. Economy has the most significant relationship and the highest effect on the effectiveness of Hijrah Selangor. The increase in monthly household income of the participants before and after joining the program is found to justify the objective of Hijrah Selangor in widening the middle-income earners group as shown in the demographic data where the monthly household income above RM10,000 has increased significantly from 2% to 60% after joining the program.

    TRANSPARENCY AND AUTHORITARIAN RULE IN SOUTHEAST ASIA The 1997–98 Asian economic crisis raised serious questions for the remaining authoritarian regimes in Southeast Asia, not least the hitherto outstanding economic success stories of Singapore and Malaysia. Could leaders presiding over economies so heavily dependent on international capital investment ignore the new mantra among multilateral financial institutions about the virtues of ‘transparency’? Was it really a universal functional requirement for economic recovery and advancement? Wasn’t the free flow of ideas and information an anathema to authoritarian rule? In Transparency and Authoritarian Rule in Southeast Asia Garry Rodan rejects the notion that the economic crisis was further evidence that ulti- mately capitalism can only develop within liberal social and political insti- tutions, and that new technology necessarily undermines authoritarian control. Instead, he argues that in Singapore and Malaysia external pres- sures for transparency reform were, and are, in many respects, being met without serious compromise to authoritarian rule or the sanctioning of media freedom. This book analyses the different content, sources and significance of varying pressures for transparency reform, ranging from corporate dis- closures to media liberalisation. It will be of equal interest to media analysts and readers keen to understand the implications of good governance debates and reforms for democratisation. Oleh itu, kerajaan akan memperkasa Agenda Nasional Malaysia Sihat (ANMS) dalam mendidik Keluarga Malaysia untuk hidup bersama virus ini.
