A total of 2415 Biology Department, Shiraz specimens of Berosus species were collected in Bushehr, Fars, Kerman, Hormozgan and Kohgiluyeh - University, Shiraz, Iran and- Boyer-Ahmad provinces from 1970 to 2003 and during 2012. The species represent including Berosus asiaticus, Berosus bispina, Berosus chinensis, Berosus spinosus, Berosus insolitus, Berosus Shidokht O Hosseinie nigriceps and Berosus pulchellus. A comparison between recent samplings and old ones showed a drastic Biology Department, Shiraz reduction in number of specimens, habitats and species diversity which could be due to rapid urban University, Shiraz, Iran developments, habitat/ water pollution and drought. Some species such as Berosus chinensis, Berosus insolitus and Berosus nigriceps was not found again in recent collecting attempts because of destruction of natural habitats. Keywords: Coleoptera, Hydrophilidae, Berosus, fauna, Iran 1. Introduction The genus Berosus Leach, 1817, one of the five genera comprising the tribe Berosini, is the largest genus of Hydrophiloidea, with 273 species, and is distributed worldwide [1]. All known [2] species are aquatic as adults and larvae and generally good swimmers . Berosus species live in all parts of aquatic habitats, stagnant, fresh or mainly eutrophic waters, shallow pools or ponds, with grassy and somewhat clayey bottom, poorly vegetated and temporary ponds with muddy bottom [3]. -

Motamedi et al. Nutrition Journal (2021) 20:57 https://doi.org/10.1186/s12937-021-00717-1 RESEARCH Open Access Diet quality in relation to the risk of hypertension among Iranian adults: cross- sectional analysis of Fasa PERSIAN cohort study Amir Motamedi1, Maryam Ekramzadeh2*†, Ehsan Bahramali3, Mojtaba Farjam3 and Reza Homayounfar3,4*† Abstract Background: Hypertension is a common chronic disease with various complications and is a main contributing factor to cardiovascular disease (CVD). This study aimed to assess the association of diet quality, assessed by dietary diversity score (DDS), Mediterranean dietary score (MDS), diet quality index-international (DQI-I), and healthy eating index-2015 (HEI-2015) with the risk of hypertension. Methods: This study recruited a total of 10,111 individuals (45.14% male) with mean age of 48.63 ± 9.57 years from the Fasa Cohort Study, Iran. Indices of diet quality, including MDS, HEI-2015, DQI-I, and DDS were computed by a 125-item Food Frequency Questionnaire. Participants were diagnosed as hypertensive if they had a diastolic blood pressure (DBP) ≥90 mmHg, systolic blood pressure (SBP) ≥140 mmHg,, or used antihypertensive drugs. Results: Hypertension was prevalent in 28.3% of the population (21.59% in males and 33.74% in females). In the whole population, after adjustment for potential covariates, including daily energy intake, age, gender, physical activity, smoking, family history of hypertension, body mass index, and the level of education, higher adherence to the MDS (OR: 0.86, 95%CI = 0.75–0.99) and HEI-2015 (OR: 0.79, 95%CI = 0.68–0.90) was significantly associated with decreased risk of hypertension. -

The principle of decentralization Morris methods and bottom-up planning, participation and transfer people affairs to them as an Gachsaran approach to rural development has been always approved by planners and officials of the Islamic Republic. Village as a human settlement is a clear manifestation of economic, social and cultural life that is associated with human life on this planet. The aim of this study is to investigate the trend of rural development in Gachsaran city with Morris method, the population is the villages of the city. According to the latest divisions in 1380, includes three urban, two county and seven villages. In the study population is the villages. The rural development is considered as the dependent variable and indicators used to assess development are considered as independent variables. In this study, to measure the research variables the questionnaire of Kalantari et al (1389) was used. The questionnaire has 117-item that is rating based on the five point Likert scale. -

Developing Meteoric Water Lines for Iran Based on Air Masses and Moisture Sources
water Article Developing Meteoric Water Lines for Iran Based on Air Masses and Moisture Sources Mojtaba Heydarizad 1, Ezzat Raeisi 1, Rogert Sorí 2 and Luis Gimeno 2,* 1 Department of Geology, Faculty of Sciences, Shiraz University, Shiraz 71946-84695, Iran; [email protected] (M.H.); [email protected] (E.R.) 2 Environmental Physics Laboratory (EphysLab), Facultad de Ciencias, Universidade de Vigo, 32004 Ourense, Spain; [email protected] * Correspondence: [email protected] Received: 28 August 2019; Accepted: 6 November 2019; Published: 10 November 2019 Abstract: Iran is a semi-arid to arid country that faces a water shortage crisis. Its weather is also influenced by various air masses and moisture sources. Therefore, applying accurate stable isotope techniques to investigate Iran’s precipitation characteristics and developing Iran meteoric water lines (MWLs) as an initial step for future isotope hydrology studies is vitally important. The aim of this study was to determine the MWLs for Iran by considering air masses and dominant moisture sources. The Hybrid Single-Particle Lagrangian Integrated Trajectory (HYSPLIT) model backward analysis was used to determine the trajectories of various air masses in 19 weather stations in Iran and the areas covered by them. δ18O and δ2H contents were obtained for precipitation events from 32 stations in Iran and four in Iraq. Stable isotope samples were gathered from different sources and analyzed in various laboratories across the world. Three MWLs for north of Iran, south Zagros, and west Zagros, were determined based on the locations of dominant air masses and moisture sources. The proposed MWLs were validated by comparison with fresh karstic spring isotope data across Iran. -
An Analysis on the Role of Government's Structural Financial
European Online Journal of Natural and Social Sciences 2014; www.european-science.com Vol.3, No.3 Special Issue on Environmental, Agricultural, and Energy Science ISSN 1805-3602 An Analysis on the Role of Government’s Structural Financial Services on the Sustainability of Rural Settlements: A Case Study in Darab Area Villages, Iran Ali Shakoor Department of Humanities, College of Geography, Marvdasht Branch, Islamic Azad University, Marvdasht, Iran Email: [email protected] Abstract Villages, as the first human settlements, have experienced different stages of growth or stop during the process of their historical evolution and also in their encountering with development of technology and change in structural fundamentals of societies, which has sometimes caused the increase or decrease of population of these residential points due to migration of villagers from the area. In this regard, specially in developing countries, attention to environmental improvement and rural development has been among basic priorities of the statesmen of such countries. In this line, rendering welfare and infrastructure amenities and services with the purpose of getting villagers to stay in these population centers in the line with sustainable development of villages are among the major objectives of planners and statesmen. In this research, which is a correlative-analytical one, it is attempted to study the role and effect of government services in decreasing rural migrations and consequently sustainability of population in rural settlements in Darab region, an environ of Iran, using data gathered through the field study and survey. The statistical population includes 15 villages enjoying and 15 villages lacking government services and financial facilities, and using Cochran sampling method, 220 people have been selected as sample size. -
