Due to the importance of this disease in the region and favorable living conditions for the vectors, this study was conducted to determine the outbreak of disease in villages of Rustam, Mamasani and Fasa in Fars province. The population society consisted of the villages of the Fars province, where some cases of leishmaniasis were observed in previous years and villages that are prone to this disease as well as a number of villages in Fars province. In total, 12 villages with the total population of 15225 and 5000 household were considered. Questionnaires were completed by referring to the rural houses and basic physical examination of family members. Suspicious cases after sampling and diagnostic tests were identified and paperwork was conducted for the patients with cutaneous lesion. Results show that there was a remarkable outbreak of the cutaneous leishmaniasis in Rustam city in 2010 which among 10 patients, four men (40%) and six women (60%), with cutaneous leishmaniasis were identified with a mean age of 47.7.

In the qualitative phase, triangulation approach was applied by using semi-structured interviews with key informants, documents review and direct observation. Data content analysis was conducted through policy analysis triangle framework. In the quantitative phase, food items available in 64 canteens of primary schools of Tehran province were gathered. The food’s nutrient data were evaluated using their nutrition facts label. The number and proportion of foods that met the criteria based on Iran’s HSC guideline and the World Health Organization nutrient profile model for the Eastern Mediterranean Region (WHO-EMR) were determined. (Asteraceae, Cardueae) from Iran.- Iran. J. Bot. 25 (1): 49-55.-Tehran. Echinops is a genus of Asteraeceae that is represented in Iran by 72 species, karyotype analysis was performed on 18 population of 7 Echinops species in southern slope of Central Albourz of Iran . The taxa revealed chromosome counts of 2n=30, 32, 34 and 36. Chromosome numbers of 5 species are reported for the first time including E. cephalotes, E. chorassanicus, E. macrophyllus, E. robustus and E. elbursensis. There are multiple basic chromosome numbers in a few Echinops species. Differences in basic chromosome numbers point towards the possible role played by centric fusion/fission in the karyotypic evolution of the genus. The chromosomes were mainly metacentric or sub-metacentric and their size varied from 41.40 μm in E. cephalotes of Khojir (1) to 79.02 μm in E. elbursensis of Emamzadeh Hashem population. The species occupied classes 1A, 1B and 2B of stebbin's karyotype classification, indicating them to have primitive karyotype. Cluster analysis of karyotype features indicated that cytological studies didn’t support sectional classification.
