Introduction The objective of the CEN Construction Sector Snapshot is to provide standardizers and users of the standards with an overview of: - the draft standards developed by CEN and ECISS Technical Committees, which will be cited in the Official Journal under Regulation 305/2011; - the amendments and revisions of harmonized product standards (hEN) already cited in the OJEU. Priority is given to the 'market' vision of the Standard. Therefore, corrigenda, amendments or revisions are not totalized separately but in a group, which progress is measured according to the global progress for the purpose. The labels used in the different sections of the snapshot can be understood as follows: Generic part of a Standard reference without date or function (for Standard: more details see the 'linked work item' description). Title: English title of the (draft) standard Gives the unique CEN Work Item identification and, if existing, the the Linked Work Item: full Standard reference Gives the last registered (date of the Snapshot) evolution in major Last realized: steps (description and internal milestone numbering) for each Work Item Gives references and dates from the registered history in the Official OJEU: Journal from the European Commission. The work presented here covers fire detection technologies, standards and guidelines and research in the field. An understanding of different types of detection technologies; how the systems function and what their advantages and disadvantages are, is provided.
