Dear Parents/Carers PASTORAL CARE TEAM The Pastoral Care Team has been restructured and as the newly appointed Pastoral Care Manager, I would like to inform you about the team and how we operate.  Pastoral Care Manager: Mr Tom Woollatt  Pupil Support Manager: Mrs Louise Fox  Mindfulness / Growth Mindset: Mrs Sabi Rizvi  Pastoral Care KS2: Mrs Cheryl Grealis  Pastoral Care EYFS & KS1: Mrs Serena Martland  Self-esteem EYFS & KS1: Mrs Jo Riley  Emotional Literacy KS2: Mrs Alison Burrow

If your child should experience a vulnerable time in their life, such as anxiety over school life or other worries, friendship difficulties, lack of confidence, low self-esteem, anger/behavioural issues or sadly bereavement of a loved one (family, friend or pet), we have a trained team to work with children either on a 1:1 basis or in a small group. Within school when any member of staff becomes aware of a child who may be in need of extra support, they will report it to the Pastoral Care Team who will then contact parents for a discussion and a referral form will be sent out for completion and signature. Recognising and supporting young people with their wellbeing is now a key focus in this country for young people, and one that we strongly support at St Andrews. A child cannot access education successfully if there are barriers to their learning. In addition to the work of the Pastoral Care Team listed above, we are now embedding mindfulness, and positive growth mindset into our school day. These are two areas which are recognised widely as promoting positive health and wellbeing. If you have any concerns about your child, as a first port of call, please email or phone Louise Fox (l.fox@st- andrewscofe.lancs.sch.uk 01772 726729) who will then pass on the details to the appropriate member of the team who will contact you directly. Kind regards,

TOM WOOLLATT PASTORAL CARE MANAGER
