Their style reflects the homage they pay to the grapes of Bourgogne. The light lemony color and short, elegant bubbles support a dry creaminess on the palate that is lovely.

RUINART, NV, ROSÉ...... REIMS, FRANCE – 163 Reims is the unofficial capital of the Champagne region. Ruinart’s rosé provides a small red berry fruitiness and creaminess that is considered one of the best Champagnes at a very reasonable price.

Its lovely pale, gold color comes with a nose of intense toasty almond, vanilla and honeysuckle. It is full in the mouth, well-rounded and has a long, smooth finish.

LOUIS LATOUR, 2016, GRAND CRU, CORTON-CHARLEMAGNE, CHARDONNAY...... CÔTE DE BEAUNE, FRANCE — 388 Bright in color with pale golden glints, the 2016 Corton-Charlemagne reveals intense aromas of hazelnut and roasted vanilla. Full on the palate, the vanilla aromas translate into a creamy marzipan and toasty oak. The finish mingles citrus and saline to create a beautiful length.

LOUIS LATOUR, 2017, 1ER CRU MEURSAULT, CHARDONNAY...... CÔTE DE BEAUNE, FRANCE — 189 The Meursaults are the poor cousins to the Grand Crus, but grew up to become benchmarks on their own. This wine combines the opulence of tropical fruits with a minerality that shows great balance. This is a young wine that will easily stand up to our cheese dishes and salmon entrée.

LOUIS JADOT, 2017, POUILLY FUISSÉ, CHARDONNAY...... CÔTE DE BEAUNE, FRANCE — 70 Limiting its exposure to oak, the winemaker provides subtle tannins combined with citrus flavors of grapefruit. Emerald gold in color with a toast of almonds and hazelnut on the palate. This is chardonnay the way it should be made.

Medium-bodied, the palate supports the nose with lots of stone fruit. It is delight- ful with our cheese dishes and salads and augments our grilled chicken dishes, as well. It’s time to come back to complex Chardonnays.

CAPITELLO, 2016, SAUVIGNON BLANC...... WILLAMETTE VALLEY, OREGON — 75 Ray Walsh, formally of King’s Estate winery, now splits his time between his vineyards in New Zealand and his Croft vineyard estate in Willamette, Oregon. Ray’s wine shows aromas of fresh cut grass with good viscosity and passionfruit on the palate. This is great Sauv. Blanc!

DOMAINE SERENE EVENSTAD RESERVE, 2017, CHARDONNAY...... WILLAMETTE VALLEY, OREGON — 130 Partially aged in new French oak, this reserve has lovely scents of poached pear, river stone and sweet spice. The palate is light to medium-bodied with great texture, lip-smacking acidity and a long, fresh, mineral-accented finish. The wine’s authenticity and length are impressive.

GRAMERCY CELLARS, 2019, VIOGNIER...... COLUMBIA, WASHINGTON — 59 An aroma of tropical and stone fruit best describes this wine. Its viscous texture and superb balance will win over many white wine drinkers looking for a heavy hitter without oak. Explosive acidy, combined with its layered flavors, make this an excellent wine for our salads or chicken dishes.

GRGICH HILLS ESTATE, 2018, CHARDONNAY...... NAPA VALLEY, CALIFORNIA — 87 Touches of oak evolve into a structured wine deep in texture and flavor. Pear, apple and pineapple wrap around toast and herb, finishing strong and supple. WINES BY THE BOTTLE

J VINEYARDS, 2019, PINOT GRIS...... SONOMA, CALIFORNIA — 52 This Pinot Gris opens with fragrant aromas of citrus, stone fruit and white florals. Fruit-forward and layered, notes of ripe pear, apricot, white peach and lime on the before a crisp finish. By the glass or by the bottle.

KELLY FOX WINES, 2017, PINOT BLANC...... WILLAMETTE VALLEY, OREGON — 65 Pale straw in color, this Pinot Blanc is delightfully complex, though somewhat subdued in the nose. The palate is built around peach, pear and a touch of honeyed spice. Lovely in the mouth. Best enjoyed at near cool room temperature for the bouquet to open up.

NOBILO WINES, 2017, SAUVIGNON BLANC...... MARLBOROUGH, NEW ZEALAND — 48 The wine is intensely flavored with balanced, mouthwatering acidity and has a generous finish. We offer it by the glass or the bottle.

RAMEY WINE CELLARS, 2016, CHARDONNAY...... SONOMA COAST, CALIFORNIA — 84 This 2016 Russian River Valley chardonnay is a rich, medium-bodied wine. Classy aromas of caramelized citrus, honeysuckle, and brioche combine with subsequent flavors of savory herbals. The finish is medium and recalls flavors of wet stone and spice details.

ROMBAUER, 2019, CHARDONNAY...... CARNEROS, CALIFORNIA — 74 The Rombauer chardonnay is one of the most consistent around. Pale yellow with a green tinge to the hue. Aromas of yellow peach, mango with a slight citrus note meld seamlessly with oak and spice. The palate supports the bouquet while the creamy texture gives a beautiful lasting finish.

SCHUG, 2017, CHARDONNAY...... CARNEROS, CALIFORNIA — 69 Fermented on lees in 25% French, this wine exhibits spicy apple and nutmeg aromas. Flavors support the aromatic smells and develop into subtle pear and fennel on the palate as the wine opens up. It is well paired with our Halloumi and shrimp kabob.

OLD WORLD RED WINE – BORDEAUX, FRANCE

CHÂTEAU CHEVAL BLANC, 2016, MERITAGE...... ST-ÉMILION —1775 Aromatic notes of mint, and wet earth open into a ripe palate of blackberries, red currants and blueberries for this full-bodied wine. Full bodied, the struc- ture and finish are dense and powerful and confirms that the 2016 vintage is by far our rarest and finest wine; one not to miss.

CHÂTEAU LAGRANGE, 2015, MERITAGE...... ST-JULIEN — 149 The nose on this tremendously elegant wine is of cassis and dark cherry. Toasty oak spices from the tannins lead to a velvety and long finish.

CHÂTEAU MOUTON ROTHSCHILD, 2014, PREMIER CRU CLASSÉ, MERITAGE...... PAUILLAC —1499 This brand typically scores 96 to 100; for a reason. Pure unadorned cassis, accented by notes of anise, plum cake, mint and superb length throughout the finish; a prodigious display of power and cut. This wine makes for memories that will last a lifetime.

CHÂTEAU PICHON - LONGUEVILLE BARON, 2008, MERITAGE...... PAUILLAC — 335 The inky/purple color of this gorgeous wine leads to aromas and flavors of creme de cassis, blackberries, charcoal, coffee and licorice. No longer available on the market, if you want to know what a Bordeaux tastes like after more than a decade on the table; put this on yours.

CHÂTEAU PONTENT - CANET, 2013, MERITAGE...... PAUILLAC — 249 An aromatic wine with exceptional delicacy and suppleness. The blackberry, mineral, spice and fine tannins create a seamless structure. A “Bucket List” wine. WINES BY THE BOTTLE

CHÂTEAU TALBOT, 2014, MERITAGE...... ST-JULIEN —197 The 2014 offers lots of black fruits, smoked herbs, graphite and a touch of lead pencil on the nose. The smoky oak, full body and chunky tannins make a bold statement; indeed, the wine has plenty of flesh and packs a big tannic punch on the finish. This is the best Talbot in years.

CHÂTEAU CHASSE - SPLEEN, 2016, MERITAGE...... MOULIS-EN-MÉDOC — 140 Classic cassis, plum, cherry, licorice, vanilla. light body and light acidity with firm tannin holds it all together. The finish has a layered and elegant com- plexity. Choose this wine in the middle of the week when you want a at a reasonable price.

CHÂTEAU HAUT-BAILLY, 2012, GR. CRU CLASSÉ, MERITAGE...... PESSAC-LÉOGNAN — 250 The 2012 is a great vintage with a bouquet of graphite, blueberries and black raspberries. It opens with tight tannins that soften into a fruity, fresh and dense finish. This classic Haut Bailley is one for the ages.

OLD WORLD RED WINE – BOURGOGNE, FRANCE

LOUIS LATOUR, 2015, VOLNAY 1ER CRU, “EN CHEVRET”, PINOT NOIR...... VOLNAY — 195 This Volnay premier cru appellation is surrounded by Grand Crus, thus considered lesser only by designation. The 2015 is ruby in color with aromas of red berries, musty earth and subtle licorice. The palate is round, full and elegant. This vintage scores in the 90s and is a great value.

LOUIS LATOUR, 2015, CORTON, GR. CRU, CHATEAU GRANEY, PINOT NOIR...... CÔTE DE BEAUNE — 295 The 2015 Graney has a complex aroma of blackcurrant and licorice. In the mouth, it is round and ample, displaying notes of cassis, blackberry and lico- rice with oaky notes. Beautiful length and freshness, this, or any vintage from this vintner is a magnificent wine for the ages.

CAPITAIN GAGNEROT, 2015, GR. CRU, “LES GRANDES LOLIÈRES”, PINOT NOIR...... CORTON — 280 The aromas are rich with intense raspberry. The body is both powerful and elegantly balanced. Lamb is the preferred dish, but consider drinking this wine on its own for the memories.

CAPITAIN GAGNEROT, 2017, 1ER CRU “LES CHARNIÈRES”, PINOT NOIR...... SAVIGNY LES BEAUNE — 140 This delicious Pinot Noir is bright and clear and has an intensity not shown in most 1er Crus. The nose shows subtle raspberry and violet. Aged mostly in neutral french oak, the acid to tannin is very well balanced and provides for a long, velvety finish.

CAPITAIN GAGNEROT, 2016, 1ER CRU, “LA MICAUDE”, PINOT NOIR...... LADOIX — 253 In great vintages Premier Crus, compares to the Grand Crus. This is a delicious Pinot Noir, showing cherry, wood, leather and cranberries.

DOMAINE DU PRIEURÉ, 2017, “LES GOLLARDES”, PINOT NOIR...... SAVIGNY LES BEAUNE — 130 Wonderful aromas of raspberry, forest floor, and brown spices. Medium-bodied and concentrated If you’re looking at the CAPITAIN GAGNEROT CORTON and don’t want to splurge tonight, this is a wonderfully affordable alternative from a communal wine grown close by.

OLD WORLD RED WINE – RHÔNE, FRANCE

CHÂTEAU DE BEAUCASTEL, 2003, ROUGE...... CHÂTEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE —196 Long known as one of the best wines in the world, up to thirteen (8 red and 5 white) are used to make this Southern Rhône masterpiece. The 2003 shows lovely purity despite the heat of the vintage. Its age is showing in its garnet color and brick ring, but it still has a wonderful dusty earthiness finished with dark leathery plums. OLD WORLD RED WINE - RHÔNE, FRANCE CONT’D

CHÂTEAU DE BEAUCASTEL, 2006, ROUGE...... CHÂTEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE — 187 The 2006 provides a brightness and focus of creamy core of blackberry and raspberry. The fruit is layered with cocoa, sweet toast, mesquite and fig paste. long and rich through the finish.

CHÂTEAU DE BEAUCASTEL, 2009, ROUGE...... CHÂTEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE —181 This vintage is a noticeable step up in depth and richness, with the sanguine streak still there, but more kirsch and lavender notes and a longer finish than previous vintages. Plum preserves flavors provide along with toasted vanilla bean and tar add length to the finish.

CHÂTEAU DE BEAUCASTEL, 2012, ROUGE...... CHÂTEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE —265 Blackberry, cherry and spice differentiate this vintage from recent ones. With medium acidity and body, the dark berry flavors and spice add length to the finish. To be honest, we’re having a hard time keeping this one in stock.

DOMAINE CADY, 2017, CABERNET FRANC...... ANJOU – 72 Often an ignored , Cabernet Franc is the parent to both and Cabernet Sauvignon varietals. This is a wonderful food wine for our lamb dishes, including our lamb grape leaves.

DOMAINE COMTE DE LAUZE, 2016, ROUGE...... CHÂTEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE —70 With fewer components than the typical Châteauneuf-du-Pape this wine still provides lots of power and structure, comprised of juicy black cherry flavor, augmented with notes of espresso and dried thyme. This 80%/20% blend of Grenache and Syrah is full-bodied with a medium finish.

OLIVIER DUMAINE, 2017, SYRAH, ...... CROZES-HERMITAGE — 80 This wine’s aroma shows fresh blackberry and loganberry fruit. The balance is pleasing; a fine wine to enjoy with a meal or by itself.

OLD WORLD WINE – ITALY

ADALIA, 2016, VALPOLICELLA (BLEND)...... VENETO — 65 Aromas of red-skinned berry, white pepper and a hint of mint, this wine is light bodied and fresh. The palate reminds one of Marasca cherry, white pepper and cinnamon with soft tannins. An easy drinking wine that goes well with our lamb kabob or hummus with lamb.

AZIENDA AGRICOLA URLARI, 2015, L’URLO MERLOT...... RIPARBELLA — 110 Aromas of plum and dark cherry lead to a bold structure that softens into a pleasantly full-bodied wine. Enjoy this with our tenderloin shawarma and beef kabobs.

GIOVANNI CORINO, 2010, BAROLO, NEBBIOLO...... PIEDMONT — 320 Fresh, elegant wine, showing cherry, floral notes, loam and earthy flavors. It is firm, yet ripe with a long and gripping finish.

ODDERO, 2018, BARBERA D ’ALBA DOC, BARBERA...... PIEDMONT — 70 This is an intense, mineral driven, Barbera loaded with iron, mineral with a tinge of bitter chocolate. It is full bodied with fine tannins.

TENUTA DELL’ORNELLAIA, 2017, “BOLGHERI SUPERIORE”...... BOLGHERI —280 The 2017 shows a deep purple core with a garnet edge. The nose is perfumed with ripe plums, dark cherries, leather and clove. This impeccable wine is seductive with a long, lingering finish. WINES BY THE BOTTLE

TENUTA DELL’ORNELLAIA, 2018, “LE SERRE NUOVE”...... BOLGHERI — 127 A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, this “Uber Tuscan” shows an elegance and depth of flavors incorporating red berries and balsamic notes in the bouquet with soft tannins. It is a very enjoyable now with the ability to age well. We cannot wait!

PODERI ALDO CONTERNO, 2014, BAROLO, BUSSIA “COLONNELLO”...... PIEDMONT — 280 Beautifully balanced wine that ushers in black cherry, raspberry, cinnamon, tobacco, dark spice and ripe, velvety tannins.

OLD WORLD RED – WORLDLY SELECTIONS

CHÂTEAU MUSAR, 2017, HOCHAR PÈRE ET FILS, MERITAGE...... GHAZIR, LEBANON — 80 This single vineyard wine represents the heritage of our restaurant. With a backbone of Cinsault, Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache, the blend provides sweet, soft tannins. Dark cherries, subtle oak and spice make this a lively, easy to drink wine. Ask that it be decanted. Enjoy!

CHÂTEAU MUSAR, 2013, RED, GASTON HOCHAR, MERITAGE...... GHAZIR, LEBANON — 145 I’ve read forty-year-old reviews of this wine that speak to brightness and warmth of the vintages. Secured by Mediterranean fruits, combined with notes of clove and licorice on the palate, the 2013 is no exception. The blend of /Cabernet/Cinsault meld into a seven-year wine making process and results in a truly memorable experience. It doesn’t get much better.

LA MAISON CARRÉE D’AUVURNIER, 2016, PINOT NOIR...... NEUCHATEL, SWITZERLAND — 133 The 2016 Pinot Noir displays a deep, spicy bouquet of ripe dark fruits with a hint of mint. This wine is full-bodied, yet aging superbly. Enjoy with our chicken or lamb dishes.

YACOUBIAN HOBBS, 2017, ARENI, RIND, VAYOTS...... DZOR, ARMENIA — 70 Paul Hobbs, of California fame, partnered with two Armenian brothers to resurrect the oldest varietal in the world. Floral aromas of violets and dried red fruits are mirrored in the palate This is an intense and powerful wine that opens up to an elegant finish.

NEW WORLD RED WINE – CALIFORNIA

CAYMUS, 2018, CABERNET SAUVIGNON...... NAPA VALLEY — 145 This is the biggest California Cab on our list. Baked plums and oak on the nose reveal chocolate, vanilla and toasty oak in the mouth. The finish is long.

CLOS DU VAL, 2015, CABERNET SAUVIGNON...... NAPA VALLEY —105 This existentially classic Napa red delivers cassis, black berries and blueberries. A hint of butterscotch on the long, smooth finish is a giveaway for the new, carefully selected French oak barrel. “With so many Napa Cabs to choose from, why not me?”

GRGICH HILLS ESTATE, 2015, CABERNET SAUVIGNON...... NAPA VALLEY — 130 Sweet, juicy cherry notes with hints of herbal notes and pepper dominate the aroma of this beautiful cab. On the mouth, dried fruit augments a creamy finish to the wine. It is just now beginning to open up.

On the palate it is full, with velvety tannins and medium/low acidity. This is a big wine that shows mesquite, mint, eucalyptus and clove notes, along with pretty violets and earth that come out more and more with air.

SILVER OAK, 2016, CABERNET SAUVIGNON...... NAPA VALLEY — 225 Initially showing tight tannins, in the end, this is a very refined and elegant vintage. Once decanted, it is loaded with cassis and raspberry. Earthy notes of mushroom and toasty oak round out the finish. This Napa vintage will age very well, but is always worthy of a night out on the town.

STAG’S LEAP, 2018, “ARTEMIS”, CABERNET SAUVIGNON...... NAPA VALLEY — 127 Aromas of dark chocolate, black cherries, cassis and espresso make this Reserve special. Subtle notes of violets and nutmeg make for a very polished finish.

LONG SHADOWS CHESTER KIDDER, 2016, CABERNET/SYRAH...... WALLA WALLA, WASHINGTON — 97 The structure created by the Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah blend opens with plum, raisins and eucalyptus dominating the nose. CLOUDY BAY, 2018, PINOT NOIR...... CLOUDY BAY, NEW ZEALAND — 90 Renowned for its Sauvignon Blanc, this wine has appealing aromatics of black cherry, layers of florals and gentle spice. LA MOTTE, 2011, SYRAH...... WESTERN CAPE, SOUTH AFRICA — 80 The Western Cape coastal region produces Syrahs with intense, dark fruit. ROYAL TOKAJI, 2016...... TOKAJI, HUNGARY (500 ML) — 123 This 100% Hungarian dry Furmint varietal has aromas of white flowers, peach and ripe apricot. It is well balanced with flavors of peach, lemon zest and has a crisp, pleasantly tart finish. As such, it delightful to close a romantic evening that should not end.
