GoFood 2017 in Lund- May 31–June 2 The 2nd Global Food Safety & Technology Forum

Invitation to GoFood 2017

We warmly invite you to the next global food safety conference, which will emphasize the need for joint global action within food safety. The inaugural conference was held in Hong Kong in February 2016 and the conference in 2017 will follow-up on the close collaborations between important global players in the field. The theme of the conference is:

Challenges are global – So are the solutions!

The conference and your valuable input and experience at this upcoming event will add to the understanding of the food safety challenges our world is facing as well as the possible global solutions. The conference will run from May 31 to June 2, 2017, and invited participants come from universities, global and regional authorities, NGO:s and industries.

Themes are: Challenge: Do we get what we are paying for? Food authenticity and food fraud Challenge: Can we prioritize? Burden of disease from food Challenge: Can we share? Open access and pre-competition solutions Challenge: Food is traded globally – packaging and logistics Challenge: Time and Quality Challenge: Consumer Trust and New Challenges for the Retailers Challenge: Sustainable food production Challenge: Antimicrobial resistance and microbial food safety

The conference is planned by the newly formed centre of excellence within global food safety together with collaborators around the world. The new Joint Centre of Excellence in Food Safety founded by the four universities: , National Food Institute – Technical University of , The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and University of Bologna.

The conference will take place at Lund University in and at the Technical University in Denmark. The two universities are connected by a bridge and the travel time between them is approximately one hour. Bus transportation between the two venues will be arranged. The airport is the same for both destinations. Venue: Lund University, Sweden, and the National Food Institute – Technical University of Denmark (DTU).

Your Participation: You can participate in the conference by giving a paper or presentation or perhaps a poster presentation. You can also join as a participant in discussions etc. Your participation means a lot to the Conference and the opportunity to have a large impact and achieve long-term solutions for the future global food safety.

Papers: The normal time space for a paper is 20 minutes. An abstract should be sent to the conference secretariat not later than April 15. The abstract will be read by our scientific committee and answer given about two weeks after we have received it.

Poster presentation: Send a short description to the conference secretariat not later than April 15. An answer will be given after two weeks after we have received it.

Fees: The fee is € 350 (excl. VAT). Included in the fee are full participation in the conference plus conference material, two lunches and one reception and one conference dinner, coffee morning and afternoon, transportation from Lund University to DTU. The fee is to be paid no later than May 2. We also have an early-bird fee of €250 (excl. VAT) valid till March 10.
