Highfield Hall & Gardens Virtual Supper Club to feature the 5th Annual Supper An evening of whisky, poetry, , and merriment Thursday, February 11, 2021 6:00-7:30 pm

(Falmouth, Massachusetts) Highfield Hall & Gardens will kick-off the Winter Supper Club Series with a special virtual 5th Annual Robbie Burns Supper. Join us (virtually) for a fun and festive evening of “toasting” and “roasting” the Lads and Lassies while paying tribute to the National Bard of , Robert Burns (1759-1796). The evening will feature a three-course Scottish dinner (including a bit of haggis!) prepared by Eat Your Heart Out Catering. In addition to the traditional Ode to Haggis, toasts, and trivia, a special whiskey sampling will be led by sommelier, Abigail O’Connor who will discuss the history of Scotch and all manner of the spirit!

Robert Burns, a source of pride and inspiration for Scots the world over, is considered one of the founders of the Romantic movement. He wrote the timeless classic "," (loosely translated to mean "for old times' sake")—often sung on New Year’s Eve as well as at graduations and other occasions of farewell. To end the evening, a rendition of "Auld Lang Syne" will be performed for all to sing along. Burns Night Suppers were started by the poet's friends shortly after his death and have become one of Scotland's most beloved holidays. Celebrations are held in late winter and marked by close friends and good cheer.

Enjoy the Highfield Supper Club Series from the comfort of your own home! Each Supper Club evening will feature a three-course meal from a local restaurant, a special guest speaker, a Highfield floral centerpiece, and unique gift for the evening.
