Brother Martin Mu Invitation

Dear Scholar and Prospective Member:

Congratulations! This invitation comes in recognition of your excellent academic record at Brother Martin High School.

The board members and advisors of our local chapter are pleased to invite you to join the National Mathematics Honor Society.

Why join Mu Alpha Theta?

● To hone your mathematical abilities — Mu Alpha Theta offers members an opportunity to practice math problems in current courses to develop thinking skills within that subject. As a member, you will expand your knowledge of individual math courses both inside and outside of the classroom. ● To highlight mathematical abilities on college applications — As a nationally recognized society, Mu Alpha Theta is the academic benchmark for excellence in mathematics. Membership in Mu Alpha Theta shows that math is a strength and an asset. ● Pizza at every meeting! - Pretty self-explanatory. ● And most importantly … to have fun! Mu Alpha Theta provides students with the chance to meet new people who share similar interests, skills, and goals. The year culminates at the annual State Convention in Baton Rouge, a memorable experience jam packed with late nights, dancing, karaoke, chess, and math competitions.

Again, we would like to congratulate you on your superb mathematics record at Brother Martin. You have demonstrated both the willingness to succeed and ability to excel in your courses, traits that Mu Alpha Theta values in its members. We look forward to sharing the benefits of Mu Alpha Theta with you, and hope that you will accept our invitation to join pending approval of your Brother Martin GPA.

Ready to join? E-mail Mr. Skyta [email protected] or Mr. McClain [email protected]. Our first meeting of the year is Tuesday September 5th after school in Room 301. In order to be guaranteed pizza at any meeting, you must RSVP to the Schoology Event at least two days before the meeting. The Mu Alpha Theta group code is GC42V-CF37Q.

Have questions? Any of the local chapter board members listed below would be happy to speak with you.

Sincerely,

The Brother Martin High School Chapter of National Mu Alpha Theta Mathematics Honor Society.
