4.0 SERVICE

4.1 Service to University of Botswana

a) I was invited to give a keynote address (Guest Speaker) at the Tutume North Cluster Teachers Day on 7 June 2019. b) I was invited as a visiting scholar/exchange lecturer by Berklee College of Music in Boston Massachusetts USA from 22nd October to 2nd November 2018. During this 2 week visit, I observed music lessons as well as offering lectures in ethnomusicology.

c) I Initiated an MOU between the University of Botswana and Chaoyang University of Technology (Taiwan) which got approved on 26th September 2018. d) I prepared and accompanied the University of Botswana Choir for its performance Banquet for 2014/2015 first year students held at the University of Botswana. e) I conducted the University of Botswana choir at the 2013 Intervarsity Choral Music Competitions held at the University of Swaziland (UNISWA) in Matsapha. The competitions were between the University of Botswana, Lesotho and Swaziland. They were held from 7th March to 14th march 2014 in which the UB choir got an overall of position 2 and brought with it three trophies and a number of medals for small ensemble singers. f) I am currently the Department of Primary Education Registration Coordinator. g) I conducted the University of Botswana choir at the 2013 Intervarsity Choral Music Competitions held at the National University of Lesotho (NUL in Roma - Lesotho). The competitions were between the University of Botswana, Lesotho and Swaziland. They were held from 10th March to 14th march 2013 in which the UB choir won and brought with it Three trophies out of Four. h) I am currently the Coordinator and Conductor of the University of Botswana Choir • Conducted the University Choir at a joint performance hosted by Shanghai Normal University (SHNU), The University of Botswana (UB) and The Confucius Institute at the University of Botswana (CIUB), held at the University of Botswana Student Centre on the 9th October 2012. • Conducted the University of Botswana choir at the Graduation Ceremony on the 13th October 2012 held at the University of Botswana Stadium. i) I am currently the DPE Teaching Practice Representative. j) I was the Examinations officer for the Department of Primary Education from 2005 to 2011. k) I was the representative of the Faculty of Education at the Faculty of Humanities Board from January 2010 to December 2010. l) I was a Library representative for the Department of Primary Education from August 2007 to May 2008. m) I Initiated an MOU between the University of Botswana and the University of Jyvaskyla (Finland) & coordinator of the North –South – South (NSS) Music Partnership with the University of Jyvaskyla (Finland) at the University of Botswana. Intensive Programme/Conference at the University of Botswana which took place from the 28 – 02 – 2010 to 07 – 03 – 2010.
