White Hills e Martin Bisi: da New York al Circolo Magnolia per concerti di psichedelia pura BUSTO ARSIZIO, 13 novembre 2019-Venerdì 15 novembre, serata psichedelica a stelle e strisce per Circolo Gagarin, che è orgoglioso di ospitare una strepitosa doppietta dall’underground newyorchese: White Hills e Martin Bisi. I primi si configurano come una piccola perla nello sconfinato universo sotterraneo della Grande Mela, con i lororitmi ipnotici e psichedelici e una dimensione live nella quale le oscure sagome di Dave W. ed Ego Sensation – bizzarro e funambolico cuore pulsante della formazione – raggiungono l’apice della loro misteriosa potenza sonora. Passeranno dal Circolo portando in dote la loro dodicesima fatica discografica. Direttamente dal suo BC Studio di Brooklyn, fondato nel 1979 insieme a Bill Laswell e Brain Eno, Martin Bisi varcherà l’oceano e approderà al Circolo con la sua band per unset sperimentale e psichedelico, che attinge da una carriera musicale lunga e multiforme. È infatti lui il leggendario fonico e produttore che si cela dietro i lavori di artisti del calibro di Sonic Youth, Swans, Herbie Hancock(“Rockit”, registrato da Bisi, vinse un Grammy), e John Zorn. I due volumi “BC35 – The 35 Year Anniversary Of BC Studio”, usciti nel 2018 e 2019 per Bronson Recordings, ripercorrono appunto i 35 anni di musica che Bisi si porta sulle spalle, registrati al BC Studio attraverso alcuni giorni di jam session nei quali il guru newyorchese si è circondato di numerosi musicisti che gli hanno permesso di dar vita ad una carriera longeva e fruttuosa: oltre ai già citati Sonic Youth e Swans, protagonisti del progetto sono anche Violent Femmes, Cop Shoot Cop, Boredoms, The Dresden Dolls e, per non farci mancare nulla, gli stessi White Hills. A novembre 2019 Martin Bisi sarà il curatore, insieme a Radwan Ghazi Moumneh dei Jerusalem In My Heart, della 12esima edizione di Transmission Festival presso Bronson di Ravenna. L’ingresso al concerto, riservato ai soci ARCI, prevede una sottoscrizione all’ingresso di 10 euro e comincerà alle 22:00, con la possibilità di godere della cucina aperta dalle 19:30.
