Young Americans to Emotional Rescue: Selected Meetings
YOUNG AMERICANS TO EMOTIONAL RESCUE: SELECTING MEETINGS BETWEEN DISCO AND ROCK, 1975-1980 Daniel Kavka A Thesis Submitted to the Graduate College of Bowling Green State University in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of MASTER OF MUSIC August 2010 Committee: Jeremy Wallach, Advisor Katherine Meizel © 2010 Daniel Kavka All Rights Reserved iii ABSTRACT Jeremy Wallach, Advisor Disco-rock, composed of disco-influenced recordings by rock artists, was a sub-genre of both disco and rock in the 1970s. Seminal recordings included: David Bowie’s Young Americans; The Rolling Stones’ “Hot Stuff,” “Miss You,” “Dance Pt.1,” and “Emotional Rescue”; KISS’s “Strutter ’78,” and “I Was Made For Lovin’ You”; Rod Stewart’s “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy“; and Elton John’s Thom Bell Sessions and Victim of Love. Though disco-rock was a great commercial success during the disco era, it has received limited acknowledgement in post-disco scholarship. This thesis addresses the lack of existing scholarship pertaining to disco-rock. It examines both disco and disco-rock as products of cultural shifts during the 1970s. Disco was linked to the emergence of underground dance clubs in New York City, while disco-rock resulted from the increased mainstream visibility of disco culture during the mid seventies, as well as rock musicians’ exposure to disco music. My thesis argues for the study of a genre (disco-rock) that has been dismissed as inauthentic and commercial, a trend common to popular music discourse, and one that is linked to previous debates regarding the social value of pop music. -

Band: Ursinne (NL, S, GB) Genre: Death Metal Label
Ba nd: Ursinne (NL, S, GB) Genre: Death Metal Label: Transcending Obscurity Records Albumtitle: Swim With The Leviathan Duration: 43:43 Releasedate: 20.08.2017 Ursinne is a project of the big shots Dave Ingram (Bolt Thrower, Benedicton, Hail of Bullets, Echelon) and Johnny Pettersson (Wombbath, Just Before TRACKLIST Dawn, Ashcloud, Henry Kane). Both romp about in the scene for over 20 01. Talons years and therefore they know exactly what they are doing. Also bassist 02. Hollow Hearse Sonia Nussfelder of Sepiroth joins this years and that is surely not a bad 03. Devil May Care choice. The trio now releases the album "Swim With The Leviathan" and 04. The Chimes of Midnight thereby they demonstrate their skills impressively. 05. Underworld 06. Serpentine One can listen to a god damned hammer of forward-pressing Death Metal 07. Bullet Bitten that provides speed, subtle but unmistakable melody parts and razor-sharp, 08. Something Wicked This Way skewed Death Metal riffs but also a beautiful Death Metal groove. Comes 09. Crazy Horses (Bonus Track - The Osmonds Cover) It is supported by a concise drumming and a full bass sound that harmonizes 10. Turning Japanese (Bonus Track extremely well with the other instruments. The vocals go with the slightly - The Vapors Cover) rough and earthy production that could not have been better or more 11. Monsters in the Parasol simply: They hit the nail on the head. The dark and slightly throat growls get (Bonus Track ft. Kam Lee - Queens out of the musical nexus and take exactly the needed space, no more, no Of The Stone Age Cover) less. -
Acervo-Circovoador 2004-2009.Pdf

2012 TDF Stage 10 the Brutal Col Du Grand Colombier
Audio Master Class 2012 TDF Stage 10 The Brutal Col du Grand Colombier Created by Tom Scotto, Cycling Fusion Master Instructor Training Type: Race Simulation Working HR Zones: Zone 3 to 5c Total Class Length: 60 minutes Profile Overview This stage is complete with a Category 2, Category 3, and HC climb; an intermediate sprint; and a fast finish. Jam-packed with excitement! Copyright © 2009 - 2012 Jennifer Sage and Indoor Cycling Association Page 1 Indoor Cycling Association Audio Master Class 2012 TDF Stage 10 Profile Objective and Intensity: As many of you know, my approach to Tour de France stages (and most other race simulations) is race strategy and tactics from the perspective of the peloton and riders. I tend not to dive too deeply into the history of the region, but focus more on statistics that inspire our performance. For example, although our profile is only 60 minutes, this stage is 121 miles long and even at an average speed of 25 miles per hour (which may be a tad fast for a stage of this difficulty), it would take the riders close to 5 hours—at least the leaders. Weaker riders, non-climbers, and domestiques will take even longer to get to the finish line. So basically, we are jamming a 5-hour race into 60 minutes. This also means that challenges will come at the riders in your class a lot faster with less time in between to recover. So what are the challenges? The three of note are the climbs. First there is the Côte de Corlier, which hits after 10 minutes of warming up on the flats. -

01/02 2012 Prosit Neujahr !
01/02_2012 Prosit Neujahr !
